Aprilia is meant and designed to be a sport scooter..it has a stiff suspension setup and ain't comfortable for city..seat is also on taller side.
Overall it's a male-oriented(I don't mean by any way ladies can't ride it) scooter so has a bike like riding posture..
P.s Ull have occasional backaches after riding it for 20-30+ mins though a small break will provide relief.
If you r touching very high speeds or are agressive rider then only for aprilia..else Vespa would be a better choice..
    Hope this helps you[emoji2] [emoji2]
Thanks for the quick response. Activa/Jupiter is out of our options as it not much of an upgrade from Streak and she doesn't prefer the mundane styling. The main reasons for selecting SR150 are the bigger tyres, front disc brakes and bigger engine. The bike like riding style is not a deal breaker. Given this, the only possible deal breaker could be the seat height and hence i am trying to garner feedback.

About Vespa, we are not convinced of the huge premium it is sold for.

Another query on the headlight. The low beam and high beam are separated and placed side by side (instead of conventional centre placement). Are there any focusing issues due to this configuration.

Yes, Frankly aprilia headlights are one of the worst in markets..if night riding with low lighting is a concern..u will have to upgrade to Hid or so that'll void warranty..

I would strongly recommend you Tvs wego as it had aprilia like body shape...
      Thanks 😊

Maybe ask your dealer for taking aprilia for a longer test ride...

What is the bulb rating and socket type ?

Thanks. Planning to do that anyway and hoping that it should clear the issues on height.
Did a quick comparison of the seat height from respective manufacturer websites
          SR150 - 775 mm
          Active 4G - 765 mm
          Access - 780 mm
          Jupiter - 765 mm
          Maestro - 775 mm
Based on the above values, even if I move to other vehicles, I can gain a max of 10mm, which isn't much and it some good news.
Of course, I am not accounting the seat profile and also assuming this height is measured for the rider seat location.

Can any Chennai owners give feedback on dealers? When I went today to JMB Motoplex in Ashok Nagar, the response was lukewarm. There was only one person and he showed the price list and display vehicle. I was a bit surprised when he didn't have any intention of explaining the features or offering a test ride. After asking he gave me the vehicle for test ride vehicle and NO Helmet available. So, I made less than half km ride and return. Will remember to take my Helmet next time.

Hoping to get a better response when I visit next time.

In chennai visit Orange motors, near koyambedu It's a dealer for aprilia/vespa. The customer service was very good there and they gave all the possible details and always kept in touch regarding if anything changes or something like that. I got my aprilia from there so I suggest you check it out. Even after 1 week from purchase they called specifically to get feedback on the walk in to their shop for the first time and how my experience was XD.

PS. I also went to the motoplex in ashok nagar, I hated it as he didn't even bother to ask us what we want.

Aprilia SR 150 Race Road Test Review - MotorworldindiaMotorworldindia

This review says that the race version struggles past 70 compared to the sr150.
Any owners have tested their sr's against each other can confirm this?
              Are the top speeds different?

Also I am not able to find the list of Service centers in Mumbai for SR 150. So can anyone share the same.

                Waiting for a response.
I know there is one in Bandra W, showroom cum service centre near Bhabha Hospital.
BTW, what is the current on-road price on the SR150 in Mumbai ?

The on road price is 84,000(almost similar everywhere) inclusive of side stand, helmet and cover. As far as service center is concerned all Vespa service centers cover Aprilia 150 SR servicing.

Good to know that the price is still in the same ballpark. I met a SR 150 owner recently and he told me the price had gone up to 88k for the standard and 91 for the Race edition so I just thought I would check with you

I accidentally discovered this today while doing the PDI. If you carefully place the low beam and high beam toggle switch in between (midpoint between lowbeam and highbeam switch position) then you get both low and high beam working together. A bit tricky but works.

Try it out. I do not know if there will any consequences though.
I tried this and it works. The only downside i can think of is faster battery drain and maybe the switch will wear out, but the beam spread is good. I use it at dark patches now. Earlier I use go to low beam and pressed the pass button to keep both lights on but it was pain. Thanks mate.

                          Fellow Owners:

I seem to have come across below two issues with my SR150. Can anyone of you please check and confirm if you have the same issue with your SR?

1/ The scooter will not go in a straight line if you take off your hands from the handlebar. The scooter pulls to left when i let go off handlebar. (unlike bikes is this something to live with all scooters due to the weight on the left side?)

2/ There seems to be a slight (very slight that you would first just feel it as a vibration) wobble of handle bar if you take your hands off the handle bar at 60+kmph speed. The wobble does not seem dangerous but you can see a slight movement of the handlebar (left to right).

i have already reported to the service guys and a service rep from Aprilia has already inspected the scooter but claim it to be normal.

Did you recently remove the tyre recently for puncture fix or for any other reason? this looks like wheel weight / alignment issue.

No the SR very new. Just 500 kms done. The Aprilia service engineer says that it's not an issue of tyre. The removed the forks and re torqued it. Butt stir the same. Their test SR also had similar handling. The rear wheel had a wavey rotation. The showed all SR s had similar wavey rotation. Anyone in chennai who owns an SR let me know. So that if u can ride mine and compare to yours. PM me.
