Hi! There is probably a way to it. Fernsburen should be able to respond to your query with more accuracy

With the little experience I wouldn't encourage you to use both at the same time, because it will drain your battery quicker. I don't think the battery capacity you have now can withstand that much load, as it's not designed to do so. Also you might void your warranty which in my opinion is not safe.

If you still want to go ahead, then I think you will need to redo the internal wiring and alter the circuitry for the power supply and the headlights switch.

The current settings are made of 2 bulbs with one being a low beam and the other a high beam. So theorically each bulb is enabled for only one action, while most of our scooter bulbs are having the 2 in one. If you make the 2 bulbs to work simultaneously, you will need to replace the existing bulbs because they do not have an alternate beam.

If you need more projection, you will need projectors. But there is not enough room for them. I have seen on YouTube someone using a Duke RC twin projector on his SR150. He had to remove the current headlight reflectors.
I can't say how far it worked out for him but he managed to use them.

Led bulb with high and low beam might solve your problem. They are said to generate a decent amount of light with a low power consumption compared to hallogen bulbs. But u need to ensure their design allow them to be properly set in your headlights because otherwise they might not serve the purpose at all, with no proper light cast, and unecessary glare than will become more hazardous for you. It will be preferable if they are just plug and play, without using some other power regulator that will demand some more circuitry work.

The current bulb power is of 35watts for 12 volts each. I suggest you stick to that especially when you want to use both bulb having an alternate beam each.

I hope this will help. All the best

Hey Sharey,

You could improve the stick lighting without voiding the warranty. Raymaal Faare has provided some good options, that being if you're willing to go the extra mile and spend some money.

Never the less, the other way round is to open up the faring and link the two bulbs together using two strips of wire so as to link the flow. I won't be able to show you a diagram at the moment but it's pretty easy.

You have to basically link the high beam and the low beam by creating a break with one wire and using the other wire to split the output into a series of two bulbs, i.e., the low beam and high beam bulb.

I have seen this done at the SVC, pretty effective but your fuse could get short pretty often. So make sure to buy a few extra fuses. Load on battery shouldn't matter since it's 12v DC and alternator sourced.

A simpler mod is to do the same as above but at the switch instead. Open up the speedo console housing which houses the low and high beam switch. Now take a wire and link the two centre connector points together so that both lamps works on high beam, similar to that of the pass switch. This is the most efficient way of doing it.

About increasing bulb wattage, scroll through the first few pages of this thread. There have been experiments, but the reflectors melt if you try higher wattage bulbs. To curb this you could hydrochrome the interior of the reflector and use between 45 to 50 watts bulbs.

Hi,
The most simple way is to place your beam selection switch between high and low beam. It works for me. You will have both high and low beam on.

I did think of the LED option. If I go for two 20W with both hi and low beams, it would not cause much hassle I guess, correct? I have already replaced all indicators and brake light with LED ones, by which I hope I wont drain the battery much. Any suggestions on LED bulbs? For time being Im going to try what Fernsburen suggested on the switch.

The exhaust note is anything but loud. It just sounds like a regular moped. There is no major performance impact as in am still able to reach decent speeds, but it takes a while and effort, which was like instantaneous in the past. I rode somewhere around 1300 km and done the first service.

Has anyone already come across a situation like this? It would be quite helpful as am planning to visit the SVC, but they don't seem to understand my plague. For them it's not an issue.
From my experience, SR150 race has better soundright from day one compared to regular SR150.. Mine is the first batch. It sounded so tinny, i did really think of replacing it within a week. now its been 6 months, and I have clocked close to 5k kms, and it is throaty and bassy. It does have a burn in . So does the suspension. And you will have vibrations that will fade away too once you are around 2.5 to 3k kms.

Dear Sharey, I couldn't agree more ...

the SR150 RACE exhaust note is sickning, roaring, defined and so addicting. It was like a dream. I can tell you that I didn't even pay attention to a Duke or a bullet anymore because of the loud note...dear lord I loved it. That was day one. From the next day onward it started becoming inconsistent. At the end I would hear it only once in a blue moon. I got sick because I missed it. I almost felt like selling up my RACE. Fernsburen suggested me to write a mail as he did for some technical issue he had. Another xbhpian brother encouraged me to do the same and I just did so. Today I got a call from my SVC to drop the vehicle for checks.

Bro I have hopes now that you seem to have faced a similar situation with your exhaust. God, It took you 6 months!!! Am only a month old and am already crying my bowels out for help as I can't live without the exhaust note.

Suspension wise I must say they are far better than my previous aviator and access 125. I love them. Am really ok with them. The SVC guys did good with the forks.

Am also okay with the vibrations now. But I feel the vehicle could be a bit more peppier, especially with a pillion passenger. But I will wait and see...

Updates!!

I was invited to visit the SVC the mail I dropped. @ fernsburen thank you

The person handling my case requested me to stay with them until all my source of dissatisfaction are sorted out. For that o was given a standard Aprilia SR150 that serves a test drive. I was asked to drive for 5km in order to point out any differences in comparison to my scooter. I did just so...

After the spin around the block, o came back and provided my feedback. Before that I enquired about the condition of the vehicle. As usual: "there is no single single problem with the scooter, in fact we feel it to be quite plush and comfortable in comparison to the test unit"

Here is my feedback:
- the test unit rode 8000km while mine is about 1900km. The response from the test unit is crisp, peppy and anticipating.

It's willing to please, ready to hit the 100 mark without shedding a singe sigh. And the exhaust note yes it was consistent throughout the spin. It remained the same, it didn't vanish nor did did it increase, just beautiful constant note that might not be as loud as what I got used to but was there and I liked it. At no time it sounded like an activa.

How my was feedback received?

" For your satisfaction we will swap the exhaust from the test unit to your scooter for you to test it for 2 days and come back to us...but we are ready to reply back saying that your vehicle is fine and there is no problem whatsoever..."

I replied that more than that we could take a ride together

I was ok with that. What do you guys think about this?

Hello guys, recently i have been having a weird problem with my sr150. A few days ago when i was riding it, suddenly i felt that the bike was moving automatically, even without any acceleration. Then i noticed that when i stopped at the red signal, that it really was accelerating without me even touching the accelerator. I had to ride the bike by applying the brakes and without any acceleration as it was moving automatically. This is a very serious issue as it can be very dangerous.
The svc guys after inspecting told me that the wire connection to the carb had been damaged somehow and was causing the issue. they then tightened it and also tied the wire as that it would not happen again, but it again happened today and had also happened a few days back. They are saying that i could replace the it for about 1500. But i would like aprillia to look into the matter and help me out in this case.
Attaching below some pics of the part which they told me were damaged. Also has anyone faced a similar issue?? Can someone give me the mail address of Aprilia India where i could submit a complaint or so??

Not really an issue.
This happens for to less resistance if u have changed ur lights to LEDs or some lights are not working or any other electronic changes.

If u haven't done any of these then wires might be crossing over and that's a very serious issue

What should I do now .
Should I go to the service centre or that's normal setting I.e., tightening / loosening of the screw.
