Yes it is fun to ride, but at the expense of 'peace of mind'. A scooter is supposed to be a reliable companion which will never let you down. It should be easy to maintain. This scooter is anything but that. I'll list out its generic problems -
    - engine oil accumulates a lot of soot in a short period of time. Signs of a badly made engine.
    - gearbox is lethargic from 0-40. All the other scooters, even the 100cc scooters are quicker off the line. Sr150 has been geared tall which is plain stupidity. Nobody wants to hit top speeds on this thing.
    - engine starting problem. Doesn't always start at 1st crank. Also has idling problems.
    - rear brakes are non existent. The braking from the rear feels like Friction between wood and cheese.
    - ride quality is plain harsh. It's a stupid work by aprilia. Even a small pebble on the road is felt. Nobody gonna take this scooter to mmrt or buddh to break lap records. This kind of bone jarring ride Quality will only break the scooter and rider.
    - spares and services. This is hopeless. They don't even have a basic air filter in Stock. They are forced to convince you that they have cleaned the filter and it's enough. Air filter used here is paper type and it's common sense that nobody can clean it.
    - my scooter was lying in the svc for about 2 weeks. I gave the aprilia regional manager a piece of my mind and grabbed a standby scooter till the new engine arrived. After a few conversations, he had no option but to compensate. He offered me 100% free maintenance for 4yrs and additional 4yrs warranty. But I didn't wanna waste my time cuz I knew for sure that this scooter will develop new diseases.
    - Headlights are so weak that it seems like they've placed a candle in instead of bulb.
    - engine at certain rpm at the bottom end makes some peculiar tappet sounds. It's just a matter of time that the engines gives up.
    - this is just a glorified toy from aprilia. Not meant to be used for utility and functionality.
    - nobody will notice these things with a test ride. It comes from distressed ownership. I made a mistake buying it and very soon got rid of it. Just trying to save a few people from the horror.
    - this is definitely not a scooter which you can keep for years together.

This is the only vehicle such left me stranded on the streets 3 times in 6 months. Once the engine seized and the svc replaced the bore gave back. Second time the engine again seized and this time the svc replaced the entire engine. On Friday the scooter stopped at 3am in the night when it was raining. I just abandoned the scooter and hoped someone stole it. Next day I took it to a local mechanic and he told me that there's water inside clutch, brake drum, ignition coil and starter relay. Got a botch job done so that it starts and then immediately sold it off and bought a bike the same day.
I always thought that lack of engine refinement is its character, but actual fact is that it's a badly made machine.
Just bad luck buddy!! The scooter isn't that bad as you described. It's just that the one you received was somehow defective and you had to face problem repeatedly due to the fault of service center.

As far as my experience goes, this is the best, fun to ride and pretty fast scooter. Loves to leap ahead with a slightest twist of the throttle. Agree there were some issues that cropped up for others like the rear wheel nut, front suspension oil seal but company got those changed at its own cost for the people who had issues.

So far I haven't faced any issues in the last 7 months.

Suspension is stiff but I don't see a problem as I get good handling and control by sacrificing that as compared to other scoots.

It isn't a practical scooter to put stuff under the seat or hang over the footboard and go for grocery shopping. Even if I have been riding it daily for 7 months, it's still fun to ride everyday!

Sorry but I have a different opinion here.

You saying scooter is lethargic from 0-40.... And 100 cc scoots are faster off the line. It's pure crap. Agree it doesn't have a great low end but a strong mid range. But it's still the fastest Scoot off the line..

And I have been having absolute peace of mind with this Scoot for 7 months..

So may be it's was a defective engine or you revved the new engine too hard in the initial days..or something else that we are overlooking...

again, i don't agree with most of your observations.

ride is harsh, agreed but that is to be expected from the type of scooter that they have designed. 0-40? easily the fastest scooter. I have no issues starting it every morning. i don't even use choke.

svc issues, i cannot really argue with you. i too faced some problems with them initially.

clearly your's is a one off issue. others too have faced problems but they are not really deal breakers.

            Hi friend,
I have been riding sr150 since 8months nearly 25km daily. Almost clocked 6.5k km odeo till now. I agree with some of your points like suspension is hard and lights are bad at night. But I haven't faced any problem apart from these. Service centre here in Pune (auto Launge) is best. They have given best service and cleared issues I go with every time. Bike always start on one kick without a choke at start of the day. Even button start has never been issue to me. Brakes front and rear are perfect for me, or I have learned a perfect combination for them. I have been giving full throttle on signals for sometimes and very few average bikes can match that initial acceleration to displacement. Handling is really good in trafic and on highway it's a wonder.
I don't know why you had such issues, may be service guys at your place were not so aware of machine's working.

Anyways, I am happy with it.
I have ridden other scoots later but I couldn't find that feel that power that ease of sr150 in any other.

Alternate beam missing in the bulbs. Is that really something you have checked?

The truth is, the bulbs are just normal HS1 as any other Scoot with 3 points. It's the jack that connects the electrical wiring to the bulb which just has 2 Points.

And yes you can make 2 bulbs glow at the same time with a simple hack. Just connect a wire from the jack on the left holder to the point on the right holder that does not have a wire in it and boom, both lights glow at the same time.

And warranty is not void as long as you don't cut the wires. That's what service center told me. They do agree that lights are useless and also guided me to a local mechanic who can do it without cutting wires.. i.e. jack to jack connection.

Have you done this on your bike? If so is there any pics that you can share with us?

Hey so I have noticed some things during 2 weeks of ownership.

                              1. Condensation in the headlights and indicators.

                              2. Strange sound as if something is hitting something else from the rear suspension. It sounds like metal on metal.

                              3. Doesn't give great mileage. I got 180 km from a tank full.

                              4. Too much vibration at idle.

                              What do you guys think?

The metal on metal will worsen up in a few months. The entire frame will start to lose integrity. Sadly, the company reps state that the bike is meant for "smooth" roads only.
