I felt post GST prices will be same all over India. But variations still persist. Any update on this??

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi there! I have something important to share. My SR150 is facing a weird issue currently. My SR has completed about 6500 kms. I had got my scooter serviced just a month ago. 7-8 days post servicing, I notice every time the clutch engages it makes a clunk noise. The sound seems to be mechanical. I got the scooter serviced 2 days ago for the issue mentioned above, the mechanic said it was a clutch problem that has been fixed. But it still persists. Another thing is, whenever the scooter goes over a rough patch or speed-breaker, it makes the same clunk noise, which makes me wonder if it really is a clutch issue?
I have a service scheduled today again. I hope it gets rectified. I thought I should put it out, for others to know. The service center mechanic says the problem is unique to my scooter only. Let's hope it is nothing major to worry about!
Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Please let me know.
I'll keep updating about it. Ciao!

NO... mileage has nothing to do with rainsOriginally posted by rahul.martial View PostHi guys,
Just a doubt,
It's very silly to ask but do mileage reduces in rain conditions?
I have seen petrol being wasted when bike has fallen, in a same way does logged rain water carries off certain petrol from bike?

It's lost its sporty appeal...Originally posted by mitz View PostSo here's a white Aprilia sans any sticker job soaking in some rain.. Looks like a neat un-stickering job but lost a bit of its charm IMO. Thoughts?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
So i just bit the bullet finally and got myself the baby Aprilia yesterday. Booked last week & delivered in 4-5 days with cash payment. 80K onroad Mumbai price with most of the standard accessories.
Did about 100 kms on day 1 and I did notice more or less similar observations as posted in this thread by other owners like:
1. Heavily vibrating handlebars at idle,
2. Weak headlight
3. Stiff suspension setup
4. Hard seats
5. Uncomfortable for pillions
6. Mileage approx 30kmpl in run in
7. Much difficulty starting up today morning (used all permutations combinations with choke/no choke, kick, self etc as discussed on thread)
8. Heavy engine clatter/coughing up while first start in the morning. No idling without a bit of accelerator
9. Front tyre tends to loose a bit of grip in mud/slush under strained braking
10. Loud noticeable thuds from front end if you inevitably end up in a anything but a minor pothole
12. IMO, some speedo error going on here, was riding at 60-70 speedo indicated and it does feel like a good 5-10 kmph more but I could be wrong
and the list goes on to some other minor points if one wants to nitpick further.
Thanks to the forum and some good online reviews, I was well aware and expecting much of these aforementioned points so no surprises post delivery. I would wait some more time and a couple of more hundred kms before i form a better opinion on the machine.
Loved the nimble handling, stressfree smooth highway cruising, spectacular braking (rear brakes are responsive as well unlike general consensus), no undue rattles and squeaks, fantastic fit & finish, beautiful chunky and confidence inspiring tyres, stylishly compact design & graphics IMO, relatively fresh looks on the streets etc
I'm pretty happy with the choice I made with heart over mind. Hoping she ages well over time with some kms on her odo and some official services to flush out the minor nuances to be dealt with the suggestions from fellow SR 150 owners here.
Ride safe,
Cheers

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My scooter is facing this same problem. My scooter is with the service center for 3rd time in a month. They say it's a clutch issue but I don't think so. I can hear the same noise when it rides over a rough patch on road. I hope they solve the issue soon.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostHi!
I am getting a weird click click sound from rear hub. It happens while accelerating after starting up. Anyone else having the same?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My throttle wire got damaged. The wire got tangled and had to stop by a roadside shop to repair. Got a temporary wire fixed by the mechanic. Aprilia service centre told me that they dont have the wire in stock. Its been a month and still they are not able to fix this problem. Am unable to ride past 60km/hr as the throttle wire is different and half throttle is not working. Getting spare parts is really an issue with Aprilia. 😠

Paint Protection films (PPFs) for matte finish paints
Hello Riders,
I am looking for some Paint Protection films PPFs for my Aprilia SR 150 *matte* *black* (Plastic body)..
I have read on XBhp itself that applying wax / polish on matte finish paints have a negative impact on paint in the long run...
Hence I came up with the idea of paint protection films...
I have heard they are available in matte texture finish also..
Please help me with this.
Searched the site, and went through a lot of pages as well, hardly found revellent content..
BTW I am from Pune.
Hope it well help other Ninja Triumph Avenger Hornet Mojo Duke etc. owners as well who own a matte finish bike...
Thanks and ride Safe!

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello guys, do you guys notice the heavy air flow similar to the exhaust on the left side near the side stand. The warm air flow increases with RPM just like the exhaust and is pretty irritating in slow moving traffic when the exhaust air directy hits your left leg. I really couldn't find the source of it. Service centre says it's a common phenomenon with all Aprilias and Vespas & hence not an issue. Any thoughts on this? Never heard about this of any reviews so a bit clueless. Just looking for some valid explanation to this

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
There is a fan located just behind your right foot when you're sitting on the bike. This fan is constantly ON and spinning to cool the engine. When in traffic the engine gets hot so the hot air is felt on the left leg when we put our feet down. It's nothing to worry about but yes it is irritating in slow moving traffic. It's just the air from the fan hitting the hot engine and passing through from left side.Originally posted by mitz View PostHello guys, do you guys notice the heavy air flow similar to the exhaust on the left side near the side stand. To the rest of the sr owners:
That click sound has vanished for me after 1st service.
Also now the bike starts up without throttle input in the morning thanks to the Vespa oil I guess? (usually on the third crank it starts)
Mileage is still poor though, and the vibes at idle are still there and are annoying but tolerable.
Yes the rear shock absorber definitely touches the mudguard (I will cut it off a little).
There is still condensation in the lights and the display assembly but I was told to live with it.
The thud sound from the front suspension is still present. No clue how to fix it.
Hopefully you guys gain something from this. Cheers.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It's pretty common. I don't know the source for sure. I believe it could be the engine cooling system or dry clutch cooling system.Originally posted by mitz View PostHello guys, do you guys notice the heavy air flow similar to the exhaust on the left side near the side stand. A few days back, I had posted a thread about a weird clunk noise problem of my SR. Turns out, the problem wasn't with the clutch but the rear rim (alloy wheel) was damaged. They replaced it with a new one with no charges (cause warranty). I no more hear the sound. It's all good now.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thank you buddy. Now that's more logical explanation to it. Wish the service center guys could explain it the similar way to dozens of others who ask the same question (as told to me by SVC guys) apart from saying it's normal in all aprilias. Nevertheless all good.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostThere is a fan located just behind your right foot when you're sitting on the bike. .
I can relate with rest of your concerns and while i can live with the most of it without a sweat, only the vibrations at idle irk me a bit. But that's okay as well for rest of the package that the SR 150 is.

Any pics of the rear alloy damage. I had some concerns with the alloys taking most, if not all the beating with that stiff suspension. Glad you got that sorted
