Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I also got surprised when I enquired in vizag city as they are quoting 92000rs on road which is near equal to vespa scooters. Need to check with aprilia itself for ex showroom priceOriginally posted by aftabu View Post

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
No use. I am sending mails to aprilia, but they are very reluctant on this issue. Off late they says that they are in touch with rest of the dealers in bengal to check the rate but no response as of now.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Quick update on 3rd free service at almost 6 months & 2.4k kms
Problems reported at the service:
No major problems apart from these (also earlier reported here on the thread)
1. One of the earlier reported breakdowns on the highway which turned out to be due to a clogged air filter fixed by a roadside mechanic.
2. The metallic rattling sound from front end since 1k kms on bad roads. SVC tried to do their best in 2nd service but they couldn’t fix it saying it’s a design fault due to speedometer cable rattling against panels. One of the member here also suggested this is a known issue so I decided to live with it until next service
Work done at SVC:
Reported about the highway breakdown, and asked them to clean carb, air filter etc. thoroughly. They recommended replacing the air filter since it had gathered quite some dust. I did not agree to such an early replacement but the advisor says the air filter is recommended to be replaced at 3k kms. It cost about 200 bucks so decided to go for it rather than being stuck on highway again. Checked the service manual and the cleaning interval is 6k kms whereas replacement is at 24k kms. Showed this to the guys at SVC and they had nothing to say apart from it’s just a recommendation considering issues I faced earlier.
The mechanics reluctantly opened up full front panels to trace the rattling sound and kept saying nothing they could do as this was a manufacturing defect. One of them suggested to go for a full headlight assembly replacement & that should solve the issue. I blasted at him to unnecessary suggesting replacements instead of finding the source of the problem. Clearly said to replace whatever required only under warranty and I’m not paying for the defects. Two mechanics continued working on this for quite a while and the sound was still there even after all the front panels (including headlight so it wasn’t headlight assembly issue) were out.
Finally, they traced the sound to keyhole assembly being the source and for a change, they were right this time. Apparently, when you see the keyhole assembly from the opposite side, it’s a 4-5 cm long cylinder where the key goes in and there is a thin metal ring circling across this cylinder which kept banging the cylinder all the time. They did some local jugaad with some rubber strips and tapes in there and the sound was gone to my satisfaction.
Oil was replaced at my cost although the drain was at 6k kms but I’m okay with more frequent oil changes (then necessary) for new engines to drain out all the metal particles if any.
After 6 months of purchase and almost 1.5 yrs of SR150’s launch, I finally managed to buy the extended warranty at Rs. 750 odd for two years. The SVC didn’t even bother to inform me that extended warranty card is not available until the payment was made. They conveniently asked to collect it on next service.
Knowing that I’ve had a breakdown, SVC tried to sell me the roadside assist but before I could get more details, I simply rejected it based on limited kms (only upto 10 from SVC)

I would suggest you to continue with the stock setup...Originally posted by rahul.martial View PostHi friend,
Documents you get at time of delivery of bike
1. Bike purchase invoice, it has written prise of bike for which you have purchased it.
2. Invoice for accessories, accessories like side stand, metal guard etc.
3. Insurance printout with stamp of insurance company mentioning amount, date, bike details covered in insurance.
4. User guide along at the end of which is service book
After that dealer will apply for number plate to RTO from where he will get receipt for RTO tax and all,
You should get this receipt along with number plate from dealer. I got number plate in 30 days.
After that after registration at RTO, RC book comes to your registered address from speed or registered post. Make sure some one is at home to receive it. I got RC after 6months of purchase .
Make sure you get all documents.
Without RC your purchase invoice is to be kept with you.

Friends, I am thinking of replacing my back suspensions to Gas ones we get in TVS Jupiter and Wego.
Any ideas or words about it.
Whether it will affect performance in anyway.
Thank you for help.
It is really good and BETTER than Jupiter's setup... We have a really good hydraulic shock at the rear...
Also putting in a softer one will lead to less stability on high speeds, also obviously warranty is void!
Hope that helps!!

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Long time lurker here. I got my "April" on the 8th of Jan, clocked about 1.5k kms on the odo. The machine exceeded my expectations since day one.
But recently I've been noticing a clattering noise from the engine when accelerating, which gradually subsides when I keep riding a little under the RPM in which I hear the noise for a while. This happens whenever I start the bike after keeping the ignition off for over a couple of minutes. Has anybody else noticed this? Do you think it has anything to do with the oil circulation?
PS. I make sure my cold-starts are kick-started and idled for about 3 minutes, with choke pulled for half a minute.

Did you mean rear brake works only after pressing front brake?Originally posted by Minisoda View PostGuys, the rear brake light only works when I press either brake lever. Any idea what could be the cause?
Well if that's what you are asking, Aprilia has EXTREMELY Soft rear brakes and it provides very less braking force even at city speeds.....
Just use the rear brake 25-30% and use 70-80% of front brakes,
Secondly,The front and rear brakes and not connected or synced ( like activas etc. ) Nor does Aprilia offer ABS so there should be no connection of front and rear brake!
Hope this helps!

No mate. I mean the rear brake light bulb only works when either one of the brake levers are pressed. Other then that it won't light up. Checked the bulb it seems to be fine. I also blew a 10A fuse and panicked, but found out it costs 5 bucks so I replaced it and now all the lights except the rear one work fine. What could be the cause?Originally posted by Rajas Sheth View PostDid you mean rear brake works only after pressing front brake?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It's the brake switch. It's a small spring mechanism attached to the end of the lever under the panel. Take it to the SVC. They'll replace for free if under warranty. Otherwise it costs some 50 rs.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostGuys, the rear brake light only works when I press either brake lever. Any idea what could be the cause?Ride responsibly. Shit. SVC is 130 km from here and I'm in no mood to ride this thing for that long. Did it twice, not fun at all. Is there a single switch for both the levers?Originally posted by fernsruben View PostIt's the brake switch. It's a small spring mechanism attached to the end of the lever under the panel. Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Nope. Two separate switches. These are small spring rods. One on each separate lever. They activate the electric start and the brake lights. You can open up the panel, unscrew the switch and spray some wd40 and check.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostShit. SVC is 130 km from here and I'm in no mood to ride this thing for that long. Dose Aprilia start without pressing the brake ( just by pressing starter button)Originally posted by Minisoda View PostNo mate.
