Actually looks pretty good with the powder coating. You should have etched the Piaggio logo or aprilia. Would look class 😎.

Hope you get it soon. The indicator beep is irritating but its a personal choice. Price I can't comment but accessories are priced same as I was charged.
I am not planning to get an indicator beeper, its just the quote they gave.
What I meant about MotoPlex was, should I wait for them, as in will they give any offers? Or go ahead and buy this now? Also any idea or guesses on the new model coming out? Be it Aprillia or honda etc. Should I wait or go ahead now?

I had the same issue and I had nightmares with it. The service centre had to strip the entire vehicle 3 times to troubleshoot. It was finally found to be a faulty wiring from the brake lamp socket to the harness. It became more prominent for me after I switched to LEDs. PVPL s QC is quite bad.

The servicing can be done anywhere? As in once the new showroom open I can service there?
I have read the entire thread and reviews online and videos. I am in love with the scooter, but no one seems to like it here.
Is there anything I must know before I get this? As owners and experienced guys, do you have any advice to a newbie like me?

These are the two quotations I got from the dealers here,
Canyou guys check and let me know if it is fine?

          400 mat

          1024 usb
          350 no. plate

          Total ->87707

Also booking via PayTM is it good?
Sorry about the ignorance, it is my first time

The rates you presented here are fairly accurate. It looks like some dealers would set a price based on the demand and the availability of the part.

" 1140 stand " is visibly higher compared to " 650 stand " with the latter being the same as i what i paid. If my opinion matters, i would recommend you to shy away from the USB installation. The power discharge from a smartphone might be negligible but might drain your battery sooner based on how often you use it since you have it handy.

When it comes to the scooter, The performance is really good and there is no real built compromise. BUT, please BUT, if you should buy this vehicle, do make sure you keep an eye on these important conditions, based on my own experience:

          1. Try as much as you can to avoid bad road. The vehicle is sturdy but does not fair well with excessive pot holes and uneven surfaces. it is not a deal
breaker though. The suspension are not as hard as what most people say. But if you got used to a TVS wego or jupiter, then my friend you will need to get used to a rather firmer ride. The people from the SVC can make some adjustment though.

          2. Do get very familiar with your vehicle. Pay attention to all the details from day one. You will able to spot an anomaly easily.

          3. Please go as slow as 60km/h even if you get tempted please exercise restrain. Please do so for 1000km run. If you go for long stretches stop the vehicle after 30mn continuous ride, for some 5mn to allow the engine to cool down (during the run in period mostly until you reach the 1000km run).

          4. Please try to avoid excessively dusty or wet rides. If you are my type, you will not stand seeing your vehicle dirty, which means you will wash it often and the stickers will either loose their strength or eventually fade away. Your trim will also take a blow. Also You will certainly need to clean your air filter more often.

          5. In the first days, please only rinse your vehicle with plain water. Please do not use hair shampoo or dish soap. Use some very soft material to gently clean the vehicle. when you can afford it, please go for sealant nano coating. Please never allow the SVC guys to wash you vehicle. I could see from my own eyes how they do it...horrible. Rather, buy some product from: The chemical guys, Meguiars or Gyeon quartz. You will get a pretty good collection On amazon.

          6. Please pay attention the petrol you use with your ride. Some Petrol Bunk in Bangalore provide oil that sometimes is of very poor quality, even dirty with some particles will eventually create some deposit on the oil supply cable and clog the carburetor. Please avoid " special petrol " as they only reduce you vehicle performance if they don't do it immediately. Please try to avoid Shell or HP.

          7. Please try not park your vehicle under the hot sun as it makes the petrol in your bike to evaporate somehow. I personally experience that 2 times.

          8. After the run in period, please try not to go as fast as 120 too often, especially on a long stretch.

          9. Please make sure you check your bill at the SVC for what work has been done. They might charge you more by mistake. It's rare but it happens. Request them to give you the parts they have replaced so you get to know how bad they got to be replaced. Do buy the new parts and keep them with you if you can.

I am still figuring out what new things might come my way, but so long as you try to take these factors into consideration, you will be more happy with your ride.

All the best with your purchase!

Thank you sir for taking time and explaining to me in detail. Everything you told relates to me. As a first timer.
After what you told, I'll reconsider the USB charging. As I didn't know it will have that big an effect. Pot holes, bring from Bangalore I can't be sure. But will try my best. And run in period I'll try to take that part by the text book and do it well.
Dust also will be an issue, but I guess I'll clean it well. Need to learn what sort of materials to use for that purpose.

I really didn't understand the bit about petrol. I was planning on filling normal Bharat petrol. Then I heard Sr 150 recommends some other sort of petrol, wanted to ask about that, if you could, please clarify that.

We can ask for the parts replaced in service centers? I didn't know that.

Also, I heard there will be vibration when idle. So I'm worried in the long run that might resonate with the body and it'll come loose.

I also wanted to know the long term chances of these scooter. As the mileage is already low in class. How bad it'll be in the long term? As I have no experience.
One other thing I heard is the pillion comfort is low for Sr 150, I'll mostly be riding alone, but just wanted to know that.

            One final point.
I know this will be crazy. But can you guys please compare it with all the sub 1 lakh vehicles available and rank it? Also scooters alone. Because I might sound paranoid, but from my first time savings I'm getting it. So I wanted to be absolutely sure.

And of someone could explain the PayTm deal that would be nice too.

              Hello dear friend

For your ride you only need the regular petrol from most petrol bunk. But you need to be aware that sometimes the petrol ends up being slightly mixed with water. The other fact is that the petrol is supposedly filtered against unwanted tiny particle of dust or some other foreign body that doesn't belong there in the petrol. But that not always the case. We cannot predict from which petrol bunk it will prevail but in most cases, try to pay attention to that detail, because it affects the carburettor negatively. Once it is clogged by some unwanted deposit, your engine RPM sinks and your idling becomes jerky and tends to make the vehicle to go off as soon as you stop it. You will even face it when you try to start the vehicle in the morning. So that's a very important factor you need to keep an eye on.

When it comes to the " special petrol " that promote speed gain and better engine health, I would say it might work for some vehicles but not for our scooters and definitely not for your future Sr150. You can experience it and find out for yourself, so you can be settled but I wouldn't recommend it. For the rest please use stay with Barat petroleum or indian oil. Eventually you will have a hint of what petrol works better for you so don't fill it fully and observe. Is you vehicle pickup good is it unecessary slow, does it make an unusual noise because there is no free flow of petrol, please try to keep an eye on these things.

On idle the vehicle will vibrate yes but how tremendous are the vibrations? There are many cases. If your rpm is too high it will produce some very strong body ondulations that are not pleasant. If the rpm is too low, it is not as annoying but certainly disturbs because it feels like the engine is going to go off so you somewhat feels the urge to wake it back. All in all, on idle if the rpm is well set , the carburettor is clean and there a free flow of petrol a clean air filter and engine oil, the vibrations will be less and you should be able to live with them because remember, it's a pretty powerful engine so to some extent it is to be expected.
It will resonate through the body , but you can have all the screws and bolt tighten otherwise. Unless you total your ride they might not be as prominent as what your fear suggest.

When it comes to the mileage, many of our xbhpian brothers suggested that mileage could improve over time. But keep in mind that low mileage vehicle tends to have more healthier and durable engines. So it's should be a safe investment provided you really take care of your ride.

As far as pillion confort goes, I would say it's entirely personal. Take a ride with you a friend of yours and swap positions. Find out for yourself. That first impression won't lie

The Paytm thing was showcasing some cash back. I don't know if it still there but here is out it works as per a conversation I had with a guy from vespa. First you book the scooter in behalf of vespa. They will allocate the nearest showroom which is there in your neighborhood. If you prefer buying your scooter somewhere else you need to drop a mail with all the references and request to buy the scooter somewhere else. As soon you pay the full cash of the scooter you get your cash back in form of Paytm balance.
Please spare yourself all the troma and go directly to your favorite dealer. If an offer is available then you will avail it there as a discount on the final vehicle price.

Finally my dear friend. Your hard earned and saved money is worth the best deal you can get out there. I will not try to make comparison but please keep in mind some simple facts:

1- The vehicle is a new comer. Some of Svc's are really bad and your wrath and bp will ride soon. That's a common think for most SVC here in India but if your expectation level is high then reconsider your decision.

If top speed and effortless acceleration is your thing then the Sr150 is for you

Apart from the good looks, the unparalleled handling and the decent performance and sweet exhaust note, the difference isn't as major as you would think, especially for the Suzuki access. That is probably the closest contender among all the other scooters.

With regards to petrol, Piaggio recommends 95 RON. As per ARAI mandate in 2005, leaded petrol was banned in the country and minimum octane petrol sellable was 91 RON from 88 RON. Normal petrol, i.e., unleaded petrol, is hence 91 RON.

Speed, XtraPremium and other similar petrol brands are 91 RON with additional fuel additives, which are compounds that perform jobs such as clearing carb gumming and help to oxidize the fuel better. So nope, they do not hamper your vehicle's performance. You could also purchase sachets or small bottles of such additives and add them to normal petrol.

Speed 93 and Speed 97 are the only petrol brands that are of RON 93 and 97 respectively. No other company sells higher octane ratings in the country.

Note: higher the octane used, better the combustion and hence less incomplete burning thus leading to low pollution. This is what Bharat IV engines are characterized for, surprisingly ARAI hasn't yet mandated higher octane petrol to be sold in the country.

Regarding the vehicle mileage, it's a CVT, so higher the mileage leads to low life since the piston is compromised to provide high returns. But expect between 32 to 39 at an average. It's a 150 cc scoot, gearing ratios are on the higher side and you have wider rims, hence the mileage drops considering the torque generated and wheel traction.

Never the less, ride the vehicle safely and sanely and you won't repent it.

Thanks a lot for the precisions you made and as usual, you are quite well informed. You are such a great addition to this brotherhood of xbhpian .

I would like to make some small clarification. Theorically the oil with additive or even separate petrol additive products are supposed to make your engine feel and run better. But as per my experience it is not the case. That's why I recommend not to use any of these stuffs. But well maybe it was just me

                    You're welcome, thanks.

Considering your experience with performance, sometimes its situational and other times its psychological.

Petrol density at time of day or geographical factors affect the same. Additives don't really have a drastic difference on carbs but they do have an effect which can improve combustion. When you speak of improvement, it depends on what aspect you seek improvement.

Say if you expect the bike to shoot from 0 to 100 in a few seconds with performance petrol, it won't give you that. The improvement is mostly internal, your scooter's engine will last longer which will in turn lay less strain on the CVT.

Lastly, the rule of thumb states that performance is visible only with uniformity. Say you've been using normal Unleaded petrol for a while and you decide to use premium fuel. The engine will take around a week or two to confirm to the change in combustion and flammability, since the vehicle does not have an ECU to coordinate with an advanced CDI, simply because the vehicle is not fuel injected. Hence you need to allow the petrol to run-in too. This thus leads to a slight drop in performance.

It's the same with shifting back from premium to normal petrol. And other times its psychological as mentioned earlier.

The psychological aspect involves usage. Usually when we use a product, we expect it to perform in a particular manner, so the mind tricks us into believing that that object has to perform the way we have envisioned.

Hereby leading to a mental hype. In most cases say we expect the bike to reach 150 KMPH on the speedo. Now the bike can reach only 120 KMPH tops. But our expectations still stick at 150, but again the bike can only do 120, which is not a defect but rather a limitation or feature.

Hence, we then perceive the bike to under-perform, when really, it's just performing well and absolutely perfect, but not to our expectations.

Thank you dear for making this clear for me.

In case you would like to know, I follow the same line of thoughts. But currently as you probably know I am not happy with my ride, not because of the mind trick thing but because the lack of consistency.

                                Greetings everyone,

Im new here. And I hope this questions has not been asked. If so, please excuse for the redundancy.

Is there anyway to make both the headlights of my SR150 work together, provided I changed the bulbs too. And if I could what would be the appropriate bulbs to use so that I dont fry my battery.

I had a minor incident due to the poor lights, so thinking to do something about it.
