Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Absolutely agree with U Bud, but even if the bike has been neglected, which it looks like, I doubt the suspension system which easily lasts decades on most vehicles can fail so miserably in less than a year's time after a bad bump! I mean there's definitely something wrong here with the build quality too. Again, Just my 2 cents.Originally posted by s1d View Post

You were absolutely right about this! The owner was at fault and confessed to it as well. The stupid squid was trying out stunts with a bike he hasn't even familiarized himself to ride normally with, forget about trying out various stunts meant for professionals. When will these squids ever learn to ride normally 😐Originally posted by s1d View PostAgree with you on most points, but i don't think bajaj will replace parts under warranty (and if i were bajaj, i would be skeptical of the customers' claim). how many customers' do you think would be honest to accept their mistake ? And forget these online portals that blow things out of proportion !
Does the customer have the balls to sue to corporation for bad roads ? nah.. it's easy to blame the pvt company and bad mouth on 'quality'.
As you pointed out in your case, the bike held up well thru bad craters.. so yeh it's less likely to be a faulty part and more likely due to that crater his bike went thru (or low tire pressure, making the situation worse.. which i assume is probably what caused this.) and look at that chain
maintenance?

This link takes me to ebay.in selling them at 10,030/- a set, which is way beyond my budget. I was looking at something under 2k. But thanks nevertheless.Originally posted by Ijs View Post

Not surprising at all
don't believe everything you read on the internet or the news.. most of these publications or individuals who report don't bother to verify and only concentrate on sensationalizing stuff to earn more 'views/likes' and in return some moolah.
most of the motorcycle 'issues' are due to the rider/maintenance (or rather lack of).

Yes, risers do increase the tautness of the clutch which reduces the free play and in you feel the lever tight. Keep some freeplay near the clutch lever, is a good practice.Originally posted by sman999 View PostIs there any problem with the clutch play after installing the risers? Cuz after I installed them I feel like the clutch is so tight and during frequent gear shifts (traffic/ghat roads) hand starts paining. Did u change the clutch cable with a lengthier one?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thank you Bro, I tried that already and it didn't work out. Now that I had found, pulsar 180's clutch cable is 3inch longer than D400's, I will try and replace it. She is up for 3rd service already, might be taking her by monday. Will get it done and update here.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostYes, risers do increase the tautness of the clutch which reduces the free play and in you feel the lever tight. As per bajaj, rider could have riding more than 40kmph for the suspension to break... does than mean suspension is bound to break at high speeds? This bike being a cruiser am sure most will be ridden at about 100kmph and Indian roads and pot holes are closely related ...
Wondering the quality of the product again...

Yeah i am 6'2 and it happens with me too like left leg feels like its bearing more weight.. so i had to shift the weight at the right side and the ride feels awkward after that.. i dont know the reason.Originally posted by Ravishankar View PostDuring the Last weekend ride to yercaud, I had a strange experience in my Domi. It might sound a little weird.
I feel my left leg is slightly cramped and started giving me slight discomfort. I am 5'10" and normal proportionate. 90Kg.
The right side is absolutely perfect. But the left side is uncomfortable.
Am i the only one to feel this. Tall Dominar Owners Please share your inputs.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It is definitely a worry if you think about it, but as per my personal experience with going over terrible potholes with my humongous weight along with the bike's curb weight + my hefty pillion friend, I still haven't faced any issue towards the rims or suspension. I personally believe our Domi's are well put together bikes and are definitely the best offering from Bajaj at the moment.Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostJust being curious

As for this incident caused by this squid, I was able to confirm with friends in Mumbai who were personally aware about this situation, the squid had taken out the ABS fuse thereby disconnecting the ABS altogether. He tried performing a stoppie and raised the bike to quite an angle where he almost fell over but luckily cause of the bike's curb weight it came down with great amounts of force thereby destroying its suspension and rims.
Now, any other ABS Dominar would never face this situation as the ABS would definitely prevent a rear wheel lift in even the most extreme of braking conditions. And if any one were to disconnect the ABS by removing the ABS fuse for a reason such as stunting then that's stupidity of the highest order!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Agree D4004, in this case improper riding is the issue. But given the situation if the shock cannot absorb such force and not break, then I don't expect the quality to be on top notch . To my eyes it's a part that would need replacement, maybe a good riding practise and regular service would push the days...Originally posted by D4004 View PostIt is definitely a worry if you think about it, but as per my personal experience with going over terrible potholes with my humongous weight along with the bike's curb weight + my hefty pillion friend, I still haven't faced any issue towards the rims or suspension.
