Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have just got my dominar 2 weeks ago. The clutch lever is placed too far away from the grip, giving me a pain in the left hand. The KTM 2017 390 would serve the purpose but they are not available in Bangalore. GST issue or parts not being stocked? Anyway, does anybody have an alternative? Amazon has "Moxi" for 2k any experienceOriginally posted by mechnizmo View Post

I got it from eBay .Cost around 1300.Might be available cheap if you can search it locally.I guess it would cost around 800-900.Installation was simple .I did it myself.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.in/itm/272038969366
You may try these.I found them to be descent. But since your bike is just 2 weeks I feel the pain in hand is more beacause of the angle of the lever. They are placed too straight.Try to decline them a bit and try riding.

The stock grips are fine.I guess most of us here are using the stock ones.If your bike is new that smell of rubber will be there.Ride for few 100 kms then it will go.If still you get the smell then invest in some riding gloves. Will keep you both safe and away from the smell.Originally posted by aknedved View Postwhenever i ride my domi for few minutes my hand smells like rubber because of the handle bar grip ....so i decided to install new grip but which one will be best..so confused

This is disturbing to say the least, but to be brutally honest, out of say 1,00,000 bikes that are manufactured, you will definitely end up with at least 1 defective product. Unfortunately it seems to be this Dominar Owner.Originally posted by tuffswooshsamy View PostThe stock grips are fine.I guess most of us here are using the stock ones.If your bike is new that smell of rubber will be there.Ride for few 100 kms then it will go.If still you get the smell then invest in some riding gloves. Will keep you both safe and away from the smell.

Irrespective though, Bajaj must and should replace these defective parts under warranty to instill trust & positivity within existing owners and potential buyers if they plan on creating a new world class brand under their Dominar brand.
I am 6'4 and I weigh almost 115Kgs and I was riding along with my friend sitting pillion who weighs in at 120Kgs and we both went over a pothole the size of the craters only found on the Moon. I mean with 186Kgs of the bike + another 235Kgs of our combined weight, at least the alloys should have bent, but it wasn't the case. My Domi's still perfect (touch wood).
I personally believe if you take the trouble of just spending those extra 10 mins at least once a week and maintain your tyre pressure, it would make a humongous difference towards keeping your Domi & yourself safe and sound for the many years to come.
P.S. This bike does lose out on at least a few PSI depending on how much you commute with her daily, so it's best to visit the Air Pump every week without fail. Losing a few PSI with a bike with this curb weight is definitely normal in say 2 week's time. Good luck and ride safe everyone!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Agreed with earlier post. Yesterday i did yet another bad ass pot hole at 60 kmph. Mea culpa. Crept up on me from underneath a car. Had no time to hit the brakes but just stand on the foot rest. I thought i had finally dunnit, broke the rim.
But lo and behold, it lab to tell the tale.
Maybe some other day!
I check tyre pressure every two weeks.

Agree with you on most points, but i don't think bajaj will replace parts under warranty (and if i were bajaj, i would be skeptical of the customers' claim). how many customers' do you think would be honest to accept their mistake ? And forget these online portals that blow things out of proportion !Originally posted by D4004 View PostIrrespective though, Bajaj must and should replace these defective parts under warranty to instill trust & positivity within existing owners and potential buyers if they plan on creating a new world class brand under their Dominar brand.

Does the customer have the balls to sue to corporation for bad roads ? nah.. it's easy to blame the pvt company and bad mouth on 'quality'.
As you pointed out in your case, the bike held up well thru bad craters.. so yeh it's less likely to be a faulty part and more likely due to that crater his bike went thru (or low tire pressure, making the situation worse.. which i assume is probably what caused this.) and look at that chain
maintenance?
