Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The sound can be the sound of the dogs trying to engage and slipping back out. Like some people complaining about false neutral, its when the gear don't engage cleanly or completely.Originally posted by vkclick View PostGuys, I am facing an issue of Thak sound while shifting the gear from 6th to 5th
Is it normal ? or should i go to the service centre to check my bike ?
It's usually caused by being too gentle with the shifter (i.e. not pulling all the way up or all the way down). When down shifting, engage the clutch with every gear. Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have a quick question for everyone here. I couldn't help but notice some sites as well as some owners in their Vlogs who claim that our Dominars have auto-cancelling side indicators like the ones found on the P-220. I have definitely tried checking whether they go off at all automatically, but have never been so in my case. Now I'm worried whether it isn't working on my Domi or is it just not present in our Dominars as a feature. Also tried going through the User Manual, doesn't say it has auto-cancelling indicators anywhere. Really confused :|. Any and all help would be appreciated

Never experienced this sound . Thak is only present in first. I use firm feet action to shift gears.Originally posted by Ijs View PostTry usinh taptalk, i was also facing this issue but not in taptalk.
Thak sound is only there in 1 st gear 6th to 5th thak sound while downshift should not be there, get it checked u might need some adjustment to chain slack or clutch. Never heard this from any owner here in our whatsapp group.

Hello guys, I'm Vishal and I own a Dominar in Chennai. Any WhatsApp groups for Dominar? Please DM me and I'll drop you my number. It'd be great to be part of a community.
Not geography specific either, I don't mind being part of any Dominar forum, need to learn a lot about the bike.
Thanks in advance guys.
Cheers

How many kms have u done?Originally posted by aniD400 View PostHi guys, is there any solution for the handle bar vibration problem. It's very irritating to ride the bike with constant vibrations..this is especially a problem when touring. It's extremely fatiguing !!
Vibrations would come down with usage and more oil changes.
For solution get the three engine mounting bolts tightened where it is mounted to chassis there are 3 on rhs.
Also u can change the handle bar weights with bullet handle bar weights it would reduce it.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
These vibrations had become an issue of late when I started observing that the bike had become rougher than before. So I was quite irritated. Thank youOriginally posted by Ijs View PostYes they can do it easily as they have the torque tool needed to do it.

[QUOTE=xearoum;1302903]Yes, it is. Most of the bigger capacity bikes will have this sound.
Its the oil that's making the rotor spin a little and hence the engagement is a bit noisy. There is nothing to worry about. For that matter, I was told that you can start the bike in 1st gear. With more research, i can confirm that it's not. Always start in neutral as much as you can.
Thanks brother
but I was aware that big capacity bike will have thak sound while shifting from neutral to 1st gear.

yes, sometimes there will be thak sound or Click but I haven't noticed speed before.Originally posted by srijan88 View PostThak sound from 6th to 5th gear is there, when one downshifts at a higher speed say 55-60 and above, once in the lower speed range, its just a click sound..
Now I will definitely check the speed and sound...Thanks Brother

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Its not normal and trust me, I had to go through a lot of trouble to sort it out. Ask your local tyre puncture guy to check the rims first for any leakage.Originally posted by I Ride Alone View PostI have been noticing that the tyre pressure drops by 3-4 psi every 200kms (within 5 days).
This happens in both tyres. Is this normal or shall I check with the puncture shop?

Ok got it.and here is the thing with dominar. The gear shifts are not as smooth as KTM to be honest. Sometimes, I changed at normal speeds and got the thud. other time, I dropped the gear to first at 24kmph and it was still smooth. In other words, gear shift smoothness has not been speed related in my experience.Originally posted by vkclick View PostThanks brother
