Took the beast for night ride just now (1 am) in Bangalore. I covered 35 kms in half hour. Since I haven't done 1st servicing, I put my speed and revs under limit. But, I have to say this. I felt amazing. It is very difficult to keep this bike under 60. I took it to 70 at times and kept telling myself to wait until 5000 kms. But only sad part is bike fell while I did a side stand to open gate. It was difficult to lift but, I did manage. Luckily not even a scratch. But, when the bike fell, my heart slipped. Looking forward to share more experiences.

One word of advice do not lug the engine by riding at 60kmph in 6th gear.Originally posted by manjush3v View PostTook the beast for night ride just now (1 am) in Bangalore. And it is ok to take it to 5k revvs don't worry nothing would happen.

As per bajaj engineer it would dry itself out cleaning is only needed if it doesn't go away. The reason behind the mist staying back is the headlamp intensity is not as the yellow beam.Originally posted by ulric_469 View PostBut each time it is not possible.
In long run it can break the glass or damage the led inside the lamp.
I have raise this issue in bajaj.
Lets check what they have for this.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Last Weekend I went to Yercaud from Chennai On my Domi.Completed the 1000Km mark and 1500Km mark during the trip. The Bike is a gem to ride in the Twisty Roads. Power is Amazing. My Partner was in his Honda Black Bird. I was able to cope up with that beast of the bike in my tiny Domi. in the Ghat roads I was able to out run him due to the agility.
The MRF has made an amazing tyres for this Bike. Never lost confidence not even in one corner. Since The foot peg is higher no scrapping. The full section of the tyre was put in use. Only 3mm section in left and 2 mm section in right are untouched. stability in high speeds are good. Cornering confidence is high with this Radials. I can say Better then My old CBR 250R ABS. few random snaps i took during the trip.
One niggle is that, on the way back I started getting the Buzz from the meter console and the front side of the Tank Panel. Need to attend to that this week end.

I hope I am not lugging. I read a lot about how engine will fail because of over loading. It is a bit difficult to keep looking at rpm.Originally posted by Ijs View PostOne word of advice do not lug the engine by riding at 60kmph in 6th gear.

While riding bike, all I observe how the bike sounds. I could feel if it is taking too much or too less for the particular gear. I will take a note of this, thanks

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Recently i have given mt d400 for the second service, after the service when i looked at the colour of the engine oil, it looks almost dark ( like black in colour ) and they have told that they have changed the oil also. So whats the colour of the engine oil. They have filled bajaj engine oil

Get is checked then.Originally posted by ulric_469 View PostIt is still there in my headlamp glass.
Exactly this was told by the visiting bajaj engineer.Originally posted by Christo4 View PostIf the moist is trapped inside ,you can visit service centre to clean it up, otherwise it will disappear automatically.
Na it should not be dark it should be clear and clean. They must have only did the top up. If they charged u for it fight with them make them drain it and prove. Below is a pic for reference.Originally posted by shrikantspillai View PostRecently i have given mt d400 for the second service, after the service when i looked at the colour of the engine oil, it looks almost dark ( like black in colour ) and they have told that they have changed the oil also. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Perfectly normal. Make sure that this dew is not getting converted into waterdroplets and gets collected inside. normally a 15 to 30 mins ride (not in rain) can take this dew off.Originally posted by Kedar95 View PostI am also facing the same issue
As shared early , even the owner manual says so.
