Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
There aren't plenty dominars on the road so domivel mod is definitely non-existent. But if you really think about it, this mod only reduces the practicality of the bike. The only bits that really interest me is the tail tidy. But then again, only if it doesn't increases the mud blast I am already getting from rear wheel. Very difficult to keep it clean. No complains though.Originally posted by Christo4 View Post

Well, I have seen the Domivel package.. And I can say that it doesn't look that impressive in person.. It makes the bike looks too boxy and takes away the charm.Originally posted by Christo4 View Post

But, looks can be subjective. But the important question you would want to ask is about panel vibrations. If Bajaj couldn't keep it down, I can safely assume it'll be even worse with mods.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys,
I am new here.
I have booked Dominor Non-ABS, today. Yeyyy. I am supposed to get delivery within a week.
I have chosen Dominor compare to FZ250 for better features like slipper clutch, 124cc more power, better power output and better torque on adding 23k extra.
1. I know I should've asked this earlier, before booking.
Have I made a right decision?
I know I should have bought the abs one. But, this is the most I could stretch my budget.
2. Anyone who's having Non-ABS can give me reviews about breaking? I have taken test rides, I feel the less bite.
3. They're asking me to transfer money and after a day they will give me receipt. Is it fine?
4. I felt clutch lever bit hard. I have heard this from some other reviews too. Do you guys feel it?
5. Where can I check that chasis number online? I want to verify that they're not giving me one of the called of bikes.
6. How to get the selected number?
And one more thing,
Bajaj has replaced the tank pad with better one in last month changes.
Even if the Non-ABS bike was available(with older tank pad) . I have asked for new one. I thought there may be other changes also in newer one. Do you guys have any idea about these changes in last lot?
Thanks in advance.

Have I made a right decision?-Yes. you have taken a right decision.
I know I should have bought the abs one. But, this is the most I could stretch my budget.
2. Anyone who's having Non-ABS can give me reviews about breaking? I have taken test rides, I feel the less bite. But, it can be because of ruined TD vehicle. ABS actually doesn't improve the bite. the brakes are fine in the non ABS too. Its just an Aid in the emergency situation. experienced riders will do that with out any aid.
3. They're asking me to transfer money and after a day they will give me receipt. Is it fine? It is a dealership right? you can wire the money and they will give the receipt after it gets credited in their account. It is ok to do that.
4. I felt clutch lever bit hard. I have heard this from some other reviews too. Do you guys feel it?The Clutch Lever is a bit hard if you are comparing to Honda CBR250r. but otherwise it is perfect and you will get used to it.
5. Where can I check that chasis number online? I want to verify that they're not giving me one of the called of bikes.-It is a news for me. When Bajaj Called off Dominar? which Batch?
6. How to get the selected number? -You mean Registration number? You have to pay the fee for getting special number.
And one more thing,
Bajaj has replaced the tank pad with better one in last month changes.

Thanks man, for the replies. It helped me a lot.Originally posted by Ravishankar View PostMy Replies are in Bold
For called off thing, I think I haven't asked properly. My bad.
I was informed by a friend that I can check the bike(because of some issue) is not returned back by a customer and given to you(or bike model year and other info) by checking details of chasis(VIN) number.
Anyway it won't be required mostly. As I would be able to check that it's from the last lot, just by checking tank pad.
Cheers.
Happy riding.

Do send a picture of the tank pad you're talking about if possible

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi whiterider, it's just a matter of prospective. I wanted a daily commuter with decent pick up and good handling. FZ25 ticked all the boxes for me and dominar didn't do even one. It's bulky it's got average city ridablity and it's got lesser range and economy. The only thing against FZ25 was lack of abs and ridiculous waiting period. Same reason why I dropped duke250 as well. I gave them 2k in the morning. Rest in the afternoon and took the bike in the evening.Originally posted by WhiteRider View PostHi guys,

But the real question is if you made the right decision. And the simplest answer is, yes. You adapt. And you start loving the flaws, start working around them and enjoy what she offers.
Am sure you'll see find very different prospective in FZ25 forum but what really matters is how you feel when you sit on the bike.
To sum it up, if I had to buy a city commuter, FZ25 with abs and with 2 months waiting would have been a bargain.
Dominar shines on the highway (literally with those godrays headlamps). But never without ABS.
I'll probably pick another one, provided KTM and Yamaha understands the importance of abs in 250cc segment. Even tvs offers them in a notch lower segment.

I do understand what you are saying because I was thinking or say I am thinking the same. So I agree.
I found both of the bike great, then why not with better features.
Again agree that it's matter of perspective.
