Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The CBR is restricted on the 6th gear, doesn't go past 9000,9500 rpm, cannot comment on domi cause I've never ridden it but it definitely has a better low end torque which is non existent on the CBR, domi is any day more vfm and more out right power, but both are good bikes, comes down to personal preferences. Atm domi is the better option atm, Honda dont even have a 200-500cc bike in the market and show a sense of ignorance here.Originally posted by D4004 View Post

How much oil is filled in the first service? Manual says 1.5 litre while my service charged for only 1 litre

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The rationale as I understand it is that It takes 1.5 litres to fill a bone dry engine. The oil change still has 300 ml in the system and stick to engine walls so it takes less. Approx 1200 ml.Originally posted by Leslie Pinto View PostHow much oil is filled in the first service? Manual says 1.5 litre while my service charged for only 1 litre

If you got charged for 1000 only, it's possible that they might not have waited long enough and refitted plug before it drained completely.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
When I checked the oil level with the bike upright, no oil is visible in the window. So I feel they didn't fill it as stated in the manual. Servicing 1.5 lit.

Sry, was not aware of 1.8.Oil level is checked cold. Hold the bike vertical for 2 min. Let it settle, then check the level.Originally posted by benz View PostThe oil is not visible when the engine is cold. Run the engine for 5 min and check the oil level

Oil expands once engine is running so it should be checked cold.
I noticed that if cold level is @min , then after 30 min run, the oil level is halfway between min and max.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
1.8 ltrs is the capacity mentioned for engine rebuild and piston works, and for regular service the oil should be 1.5ltrs the bajaj dsti 10000 comes in a 1.5ltr pack .
Do recheck with ur svc and get the oil drained and refilled with total 1.5ltrs.

Also avoid filling up premium petrol at small, unpopular bunks. They could contain sediments from the tank due to fuel sitting for long periods.Originally posted by harry032701 View Post

Just a report that bike on speed97 runs smooth as Japanese bikes and throttle response become crisp and accelaration gets amazing.. i loved it and highly recommend to do it for once atleast.
