Got the third service done toady at 6900kms (wasn't able to ride much after second service).

Got the engine oil, airfilter, oil filter and the fuel filter changed.
    And chain cleaning done.

Airfilter they don't recommend at this soon but I insisted on it and also the fuel filter which is below the tank.
Old oil filter was filled with black dirt which is visible in the pic, new one is pure white.
Old airfilter is also choked from upper side underside is ok.

Got all the bolts tightened up, and magnetic oil filter is cleaned along with permanent filter which is located under the drain bolt.

I opted for bajaj dtsi 1000 10w50 oil but motul 7100 v was also available there in 1.5ltr pack for 1180/-

I find bajaj oil equally good as it is made by Total.
Toatal cost is INR 1574/- only.

    Attaching few pics.

Dominar was my father's selection, he booked the bike without my knowledge, at first I was skeptical about it's handling and cornering given its long wheelbase.
After 1200 kms I couldn't be happier regarding it's handling, quick maneuvers in traffic!
It's just amazing and addictive as you said!

Yesterday while i was riding at around 85km/h on eastern exp highway(mumbai), a car changed its lane, due to which i had to brake hard. On braking there was zero feedback from the rear brake. This situation got very risky. Today at the service centre i came to know the rear brake bolt has come out. My bike has run 1700kms and 1.5 months old. How can a bolt on a new bike come out like this? Attached are the pictures.

But again reappeared now. Good thing is now noise is very low and rarely it comes. I guess i need to clean the rotor myself.

People who are planning to change the tires to Michelin pilot street please see the video below :

Did the same with mine. Although after 15 days of getting it cleaned the noise is still pretty much there. I dont see a reason why we should adjust after spending 2 odd lakhs on the bike. I have previously owned a bullet 350 and a karizma zmr. I've never had to face such issues on either of the bikes.

                Hi bro,

At present i am not facing this issue. No noise from the rear brake. I guess you should clean the rotor with a sand paper . Everything will be fine.

That could have been serious but you had the front brakes to save you. I think the bolt was a bit loose from the day 1 & was not noticed during the PDI or 1st service. The Dominar has slight buzz on the footpegs at certain RPM which might have further loosen the bolt. There are many instant where the gear lever has also come out on motorcycles due to loose bolts & vibrations.

Cleaning the disc & pads are temporary solution for squeaks (as dirt & dust again gets deposited) you have to clean/ pressure wash them at regular intervals. Next time dab some caliper grease on the BACK of the brake pads, it has always helped me to arrest squeaks.

Totally agree 👍 it is fun bike to ride. I really enjoy the torque delivery right from the initial twist of the throttle.

When my bike was new, I was trying to adjust the read break lever. This is when I realized that the its not very difficult to push the cylindrical rod out of its position. Without it, the break will not work. I took precautions and tightened the holster properly. Apparently, its the same setup in pulsars as well.

Hi, I'm new to this thread
                        Planning to buy this month
                        Have a few queries
1)The dealer in my place says the dominar comes without mirrors, saree guard nd crash guard
All these are extra accessories and its being charged extra
                        Is that the case ?
                        2) My family has a strong feeling that bajaj has serious quality issues
Can someone tell me a few points which can make me have a hope on bajaj's quality

Regarding the mirror , sarees etc I have replied above . I have attached the picture above for all the accessories they have charged for me .

Regarding quality of Bajaj , it's not easy for a company to sell 1 million models of a same bike ( Pulsar ) if the quality was that bad . All companies do cost cutting in common commuter bikes ( not premium bikes ).
In my family we have used 4 generations of Bajaj . Bajaj Chetak , Bajaj 4s , Bajaj Xcd 125 DTS-I. And now Bajaj pulsar NS 200 all are serving quite faithfully . I have more than 1 lakh KMS in XCD and 4S never had any problems . Even problems in my new Pulsar are being sorted out with patience by the SVC .
So final verdict Bajaj is one of the best companies in the market , but like EVERY OTHER COMPANY , they have few drawbacks and you'll have to live with it ( minor things nothing major ) .
Drawbacks are - most of the SVC aren't upto mark on servicing , some of the parts like the mirrors etc are made of flimsy plastic .

I am surprised. I did not an extra penny for any of this. for that matter, goverment mandates saaree guard and they cannot sell without it. Try a different dealer if you are really inclined towards Dominar.

Bajaj has made a good bike but its too new to know the reliability of it. Quality is pretty good for a Bajaj. Their after sales is pathetic though. Overall, I am happy for what I have paid for.

Hi all, I got my dominar delivered today. Totally enjoyed the bike. The show room was so helpful, they even helped me fix my visor and number plate bracket. Looking forward for a good biking experience.

This forum was so helpful. Thanks
