Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Need help!
So today I took my dominar for a ride of 120kms. 80kms into the ride and something felt odd. I had to pin the throttle to overtake an average moving vehicle. After reaching, when I did an acceleration test the bike took 6.9 seconds for reaching 60kmph and and a whole 12.4 seconds for it to reach 100kmph (on speedo). I did it like 5-6 times and the result where the same. (Petrol tank half filled, my weight 70kgs). I feel as if the engine has lost its power. The bike struggles in 6th gear a lot after 100kmph. I've never faced this issue earlier.
Also my engine oil level seems to be nonexistent. Could it be due to low engine oil? I replaced it during my first service at 500kms.

Could be a case of clogged air filter, get it checked to rule out a possibility.

2600kms as of now. Will get it checked. I am planning to get it serviced, anything else should I ask them to check? Because bajaj service personals are not really that good when it comes to diagnosing problems.Originally posted by KK_HakunaMatata View PostWhat's your ODO?

Really a neat looking Mod Job.
Will the addition of Fog Lamps void the Warranty and did you do something to the front fender as well???

Hi Jerry,
Please get the Engine Oil levels checked.
You need lubrication for smooth functioning of the engine
Cheers.

Warranty will not be void coz I have not cut any OEM wire, and the front fender is from KTM Duke 390 2017 model.Originally posted by PsychopathSagar View PostCongrats!!

Wow! The Duke 390 fender looks cool, is the fender a direct slip-on?Originally posted by saudjawed View PostWarranty will not be void coz I have not cut any OEM wire, and the front fender is from KTM Duke 390 2017 model.
I really wanted to install Fog Lamps but was hesitant in doing so because of the warranty.
Any pointers with the Fog Lamp and Fender mod, is this all a DIY that you have done or a Mechanic's job to do?
Thanks saudjawed

The front fender can only be installed in upside down fork, we can't install it in our normal telescopic fork,Originally posted by PsychopathSagar View PostWow! The Duke 390 fender looks cool, is the fender a direct slip-on?

I have a small garage were I do all modification and services.
Fog light installation is easy but wiring has to be done carefully so that warranty is not void, SOI have taken the line from fuse box by that I still have warranty and protection. If u need help contact me.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Engine oil will not cause sluggish performance. it will eventually breakdown but the signs will be evident. e.g. oil pressure low, engine overheat or RPM locked at 4.5K RPM. Sure you can ask svc center to check the oil level. Check the Tyre pressure though. I ran into similar dilemma and it turned out to be a Tyre leak. ended up replacing it and now am all good.Originally posted by Jerry_E View PostNeed help!

Do you hear it when breaking and taking turns at the same time? I wouldn't worry too much about it.Originally posted by DJD View PostSame here bro. The sound comes if i give a light press on the rear brake lever. Initially this sound was loud.
People who are planning to change the tires to Michelin pilot street please see the video below :
https://youtu.be/r2HBVfrmcKk
About the video you have shared, please stop sharing bad words about the Michelin. The humming noise is there with my pilot street radials and yes, its because of suction it generates. but its no way the reason why people shouldnt buy it. I can wouch for the quality and performance it offers. on top of that, the humming noise is mostly covered by engine sound itself.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Just wondering, how good is your ABS system? Is it operational, given the 390's rotors are on the left and you've used 390s fork with Dominar's rim. Would be happy to hear your comments on that. Also for the headlamp, you've tapped the wiring from the fuse box using a separate fuse box or just the stock fusebox with higher AMP rated fuse for the LEDs?Originally posted by saudjawed View PostHTML Code:Few of the upgrade on my Dominar

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Mine is NON- ABS version, but the brake feedback is much better then the stock calliper, coz KTM calliper has Four pistons then the two pistons in stock calliper.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostJust wondering, how good is your ABS system? I have to readjust the headlight mount so that it can fit on KTM front fork.
I have tapped the wire from fuse box with separate 5amp fuse to protect the OEM wiring and fog light.

Very good. Do post the wiring diagram if feasible, would definitely come in handy for many of the folks around here.Originally posted by saudjawed View PostMine is NON- ABS version, but the brake feedback is much better then the stock calliper, coz KTM calliper has Four pistons then the two pistons in stock calliper.
