How often do you all check your tyre pressure? My bike's tyre pressure levels are decreasing around 5-10 points every two weeks.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Bhaiyon Pranam!!
Thanks to everyone on this incredible forum; and special thanks to IJS for pointing me in the right direction.
I took delivery of my Dominar on the 23rd.
I am now looking for a motorcycle group in Mumbai that I can join. I am looking for at least 1 long ride a month. Something in the range of 200 to 300 kms. Could someone please guide me?
Thanks

Thank you IJS.
Incidentally, I have written a blog about this - https://muthurangan.wordpress.com/20...t-development/
As fellow Dominar owners, I would be very much interested in hearing all of your thoughts in the comments section of the blog.
Thank you

I refill every 2 months, or even 5 months sometimes, but your post reminds me to do it more oftenOriginally posted by mraravind View PostHow often do you all check your tyre pressure? My bike's tyre pressure levels are decreasing around 5-10 points every two weeks.
. I used to be a weekend rider, and these days i take it out daily but very little distance to travel. I guess the distance you drive also makes the tires shed some air.

Nicely penned down. This is as dispassionate and impartial a biker can get about something as passionate as motorcycling.Originally posted by bkb View PostThank you IJS.

No problem with sharing links, but it is nicer if you share your experiences directly on the forum as well. Helps other members as the PDI list helped you.
Cheers

Unfortunately this is the norm across manufacturers in India. And because no one complains, the manufacturers don't bother improving things.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Thank you Mr. Monk. Actually, I quite agree with you about writing the narrative here. But, I do have two reasons for writing it as a stand-alone blog outside the forum.
1.) I felt that the business related discussions warranted a wider audience other than just us motorcycle enthusiasts. If I had written it here, it is very difficult for me to convince some people (Eg: my father) to navigate the forum and read what I have to say. In all likelihood, they would get lost in this thread.
2.) A conversation within automotive forums (such as this one) tends to be dismissed at times by manufacturers because detail-oriented and passionate people like us are, at times, regarded as a small subset of the market that is not worth paying that much attention to. Indeed, the vast majority of motorcyclists in India are not even aware of this forum. So, if my goal was to establish a conversation that would likely get noticed by Bajaj, and consequently lead to better business practices from them, then I had to write a stand-alone piece that would be viewed by the public at large. Of course, for a successful conversation to take place lots of readers have to contribute in the comments section of the blog and discuss their own buying experiences (good AND bad). So far only a few people have commented. Hopefully that will change in the next few days.
Incidentally, I have tweeted a link to the blog to the twitter handle @Motorcycleyogi which I think is Rajiv Bajaj's. But, I am not sure if it has been read by his office. If someone here has an email for Mr. Bajaj or other key people who work in the management for the Dominar, I would encourage them to email a link to the blog to those people. I would do it myself if I got their contact information from someone here. This motorcycle is really a stellar piece of machinery. It would be a shame for it to not succeed to the full extent of its potential because Bajaj doesn't sell it properly.
Having said all that, once I feel that enough people have seen it on the outside, I will transfer the contents to this forum via a new thread.
And Mr. Monk... To you in particular, I want to say Thank you for reading my blog. Informed and erudite readers such as yourself make my day. If you are ever in Mumbai, please do look me up. I would be delighted to meet up and talk motorcycles, and maybe plan a ride together.
In the mean time, I request you to please place your comments underneath the blog.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Dominar owners,
This is my first post and if this is the incorrect spot, please guide.
I am a new bike rider for the past 3 months or so. I have been borrowing my friend's Pulsar and been riding it. I have been wanting to take long rides and would love to get a Dominar. Do you think Dominar can be a good first timer's bike? Or should be practising bike riding for few more months / years before getting a Dominar?
Thank you,
Thiru

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If you have never owned a motorcycle before, I would not recommend that you get the Dominar. For one thing, it is expensive and weighs 182 KGs. So, if you drop it, that's a lot of heartache. Also, the bike is not easily maneuvered in traffic due to its long wheelbase.Originally posted by uriht View PostHi Dominar owners,

So, get a smaller 100 CC motorcycle. Buy it used. Get riding for at least 6 months. Then get the Dominar as a replacement or even as a second bike. That way, you are assured of a more pleasant experience.
But, whatever you get, make the investment and get top notch safety gear - helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. I would even add knee pads to this list.
Best Wishes

As you already have ridden friends pulsar and wants a bike for touring then don’t look anywhere just go to bajaj showroom and take a long test ride before booking the dominar as you are more inclined towards it. The Dominar power is more linear and can be handled easily without scaring the new rider. So first take the test ride and then decide.
And before buying a bike just make sure to make your check points and see were the bike stands against your requirement.
It’s all about getting used to the bike and it take first 1000 kms to understand and get used to your new machine and getting older with it.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I've never owned a bike before. But I've ridden other's bikes. So I went for dominar. I wouldn't say it's newbie's friendly but it is definitely easy to learn. It took me about 1000 kms to know the bike completely.Originally posted by uriht View PostHi Dominar owners,

Yes at first it was heavy, difficult to maneuver in traffic, too powerful. But once you get hold of it, it will be your best companion.
I would recommend going for a test ride.

I got it from Sai service Andheri in the month of Feb 2017 as that was the only nearest option at that time.Originally posted by drifter View PostAnybody here from chembur ghatkopar area

You can buy it from Kurla executive bajaj @ Pheonix mall. SVC is at Ghatkopar. Less than 5kms from the showroom.
