    Hi Jitark,
I have had no issues with coolant except after 1st service when the level was close to the min mark. I checked the level before starting the bike on a new day. So went and got it topped up. Level is maintained now.

Thank you for the encouragement and wishes! [emoji5]

It's not an issue with dominar. I haven't read much about that issues in dominar. It's perfectly matured product with reliable parts and engine.... There could be one issues with 1 in 100s bikes. But that's not limited to bajaj only. It can happen with any bike..... And any brand.

Bajaj is serious about their flagship model. I did post a comment on the YouTube video asking him/his friend about some things that were not told to him.
A 1.9L bike cannot be compared with a 4.02L bike. Obviously Dominar is built to a cost and that's one of the USP of Dominar. Cost efficiency is something that those guys don't have any idea about.
The YouTuber rides a Hyosung and looks pretty happy with it(or could be stuck with it due to absolutely horrific after sales service or resale value).
Dominar did 3 routes and that feat is not done by any other production bike, as far as I know.
          1. Trans-Siberian
          2. South East Asia for a 5 girl group
          3. Currently doing Arctic to Antarctica
All three without the help of support crew like some other brand which needs support crew and spares all along.
There's no doubt about R3 since I'm looking at either R3 or Dominar(didn't like D390/RC390 and scared to put my money on a Kawasaki).
He is rich enough to sell an almost 2 lakh rupee bike and get a 4 lakh rupee bike so yeah, he need not have patience.

it is not a common issue.. and pl ignore that guys explanation of how the coolant system works.
don't expect a fill it shut it maintenance on these bikes.. they have more mechanical systems than a commuter bike and sometimes they can fail.
i still can't control my laughter about his taking about the 'bent blades' on oil filter .. the shit ppl make up in their heads!

I used reserve as an indicator to fill fuel on my old bike. I guess I have to get used to relying of the fuel gauge. As I'm gonna give my bike for servicing tomorrow, wondering if I should stick with the oil Bajaj intends to use? Should I buy some other brand and ask them to use it instead?

You are welcome brother, always happy to help.

As I said no need to worry too much about the fuel. Just don't let it go completely dry and you'll be fine. As soon as the low fuel starts blinking, fill her up and she'll be happy.

Regarding the engine oil. talk to the service center guys and ask theem if you can put your choice of engine oil. Most the service centers deny it straight away and say that it will void the warranty. In that case stick with the oil they provide till the free services are over an then you can you the one you want without telling them. But if you have good friendship with the guy at the service center, then they may agree on putting engine oil of your choice.

Now days people makes videos on any thing and everything , busted gaskets and heat seal can happen any where on any brand.
Mine is from the first lot delivered here in delhi and there is no issue and there are more owners like me.
Main problem is when the owners starts to ignore the basic check list.

I can show you owners who are not happy with more expensive stuff and facing silly issues.

Yesterday the slipper clutch literally saved my life!
I was going from Guindy to Ashok Nagar via Kathipara flyover. After taking the flyover and taking the left circular section to merge on to the lane coming from GST road towards Ashok Nagar, I had a complete brain fart!
I was at a good lean angle and instead of upshifting from 4th to 5th,i accidentally downshifted to 3rd! [emoji33]
I almost immediately realized my mistake and for a moment froze realizing that I am going to fall very badly as the rear would have easily slid and I was also leant in.
Luckily the D400 and its slipper clutch just shrugged my mistake as if nothing happened. There was not even a minor twitch! There was no drama! I was the only 1 sweating!
Slipper clutch is indeed a life saver!

that is why i always say dominar costs 0 Rs,just imagine what whould have happened without slipper clutch and cost of medical expenses. The total medical expenditure will be more than the cost of the bike provided one is lucky enough to see the hospital.so far i have been saved thrice by ABS

You are absolutely correct! Wish Bajaj would also point out these features creatively in their ads so that existing and prospective customers realize the true value that this bike brings to the ownership experience.

Done with the first serving. Didn't speak about using different oil. However, today morning I saw few drops of oil below my bike. Should I worry? Also wonderings if using shell or higher octane fuel is better for the engine?

I should mention that I'm a noob when it comes to how bikes/cars work. I'm so gonna have a lot more stupid queries!

The reason is that the sensor reads the position of the float every 10-15 minutes depending on the bike. Usually the float is fixed at the left hand side of the bike, so when you switch on the bike, it was on a side stand, so the first time you switched on the bike, the sensor gave you a higher reading, because the bike was on its side stand and all the petrol was tilted to left where the float is and raised its position higher. Now you start to ride and after 10 minutes, the bars on the fuel gauge drop, because now you are riding the bike and it is in straight position when the sensor took the reading. This is confusing at first but as long as you don't have just 20 rs worth of petrol in your bike its al good. ride it without worry and whenever the low fuel starts blinking, take it to fuel pump and fill her up.

                            2. its also a good habit not to let the fuel tank dry. Its not good for the fuel injection system. if the bike is low on fuel the fuel pressure drops and the pump starts to pump air through the fuel injection system, there are chances of it going kaput really soon. The fuel pump should always be fully submerged in fuel. It serves 2 purposes. 1. it acts as a coolant for the pump and keeps it nice and cool. 2. it acts as lubricant for the pump and keeps it well and healthy. I'm not saying you have to keep the tank full all the time but it should not go completely dry. So whenever the low fuel starts blinking, fill her up with a minimum of 200 rs. If you are the kind of guy whose bike contains 20 rs worth of fuel most of the time, the FI system is going to go kaput and you will have a heavy expense.

                            3. Noise in the brakes is not a problem as long as they work as expected. The noise is more due to two reasons. 1.Currently monsoons bring a lot of rains and the rain water along with the fine dust is splashed continuously on the rotors and the calipers. due to this a find coat of dust is accumulated on the brake pads (look at the side lines of your tire after a rainy day ride, it will be yellowish and its very hard to remove even after washing, its the same coat of dust in brake pads as well) which cause the noise. It does not affect the braking at all but If you are annoyed, remove the pads, use sand paper on it and the noise will go away. 2. If the bike is left standing in rains (Which it will because it is monsoon), the rotors start rusting, which again can be a factor for noise. Wipe the rotors with WD40 and noise will go away.

                            4. There are several types of basic gear and you can choose from a wide variety depending on your budget and usage. Please Motorcycle accessories\Riding gear section, and you will get a good idea of what you can get in your budget and also reviews of how good the gear is.

Ride safe brother. may you have many many happy and safe miles on your bike.
Never wipe the brake rotors with any oil base, not even WD40. It can cause accidents. The rusting rotor is fine. Mechanically no issues for braking.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

+1 dish wash like prill, or acetone/ nail paint remove.
                              Wd40 is oil based.

                                Hello Folks,

A small doubt, Post my first service I can hear a slight knocking sound like knocking sound that comes from 'electric bore-well compressor pump'.
I have taken my bike multiple times to Bajaj service centre but service guy's said it's normal and engine is in good condition. This sound suddenly comes after first service.
I have even mailed to Bajaj regarding this and same service guys came into the picture saying nothing fault with engine. I am not sure whether this sound is normal.
Even while they fired up a Dominar which came for service I can hear the difference in sound (without knocking) in compared to my bike. Service guy's gave me reason since bike has been ridden due to hot engine it sounds like that. But after reaching home I have fired cool down engine same knocking sound I can hear.

Need your inputs regarding this guys. Please post if any workaround is there for this.

Apart from this awkward sound my bike performs really good. Vibes reduced drastically around 4.5 to 5.5 rpm.

                                Thanks
