Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
That's sad to know, I just want black rims with that silver finishing. These golden ones look monotonous and cheap IMO. Thinking to get one within few months, probably around Diwali. Right now in a limbo to choose Duke or Dominar.Originally posted by Indivar View PostBLR-RAMESWARAM-KODIAKANAL-BLR http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/3...ing-hills.html

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The Abs sensor on the front wheel is the speed sensor , ecu reads speed from the front wheel sensor, there is also one more sensor in the rear which is also abs sensor and that also works as wheel speed sensor which sends speed reading for abs system.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostI just wanted to know how the dominar speedometer works? Because i can't see the separate cable for speedometer like in other bikes. There are just 2 of them, for brake and ABS. Does it update speed through ECU or rear wheel?
If you remove the fornt abs cable from the wheel , speedo meter, odometer and abs would stop workingSorry bhai not getting time to update the tyre thread, yes the Apollo tyres are doing great on my bike, wet grip is also very good stock mrf is no where close to it. There is no fish tail from rear in heavy cross winds which were there on mrf.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostApollo has launched a set of tyres that suit Dominar specs. Someone here has used it, I think it was Ijs bhai. He's got some good feedback about them.
Else if the stock MRF ran good then you can get MRFs again.
Set of apollo would cost around 10 to 11k depending on the market, at company showroom it could cost more as mrp is higher.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Did they try replacing the charcoal canister of evap system. And which fi sensor they have changed is it the MAP sensor or any other.Originally posted by Parththebeast View PostHello Dominar owners,
The issue has been identified by me today in the morning i had my friend's dominar same model with same ECU Upgrade. I have got the exact same issues faced in his bike too. Have called up my dealer manager and he is updating bajaj with the same.
Until then
PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE YOU DOMINAR (FIRST BATCH)
NOTE: In case post update you are not facing the issues then please let me know with you batch and year of manufacture.
Bike Age: 1.5 Yrs
ODO: 26000+ Kms
Issues:
1) 5th or 6th Gear 90Km/hr + Bikes suddenly stop responding to throttle as if I have no fuel left in the tank.
2) Radiator reservoir requires to top up after every 400-500 Kms. Topup qty 350ml approx.
Resolution
1) Bajaj Mechanics unable to identify the issues since 3 Days, changes all Spark plugs, Air Filter, FI Sensor, Throttle Body cleaned, Fuel filter, fuel pump, ECU Update, still same issues. God knows what else they going to change the next.
2) No solution found yet, instead have started filling up on my own :-(
Issue could also be related to MAP sensor.
And for the second issue , as i told earlier too. If there is no leakage found then just replace the radiator cap and see it would work.Last edited by Ijs; 07-24-2018, 03:56 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello there.
I have done round 18000Kms on my Dominar So far., My tires are almost worn and I'm in need of a better set of tires than the stock MRFs.
My riding includes 70% Road and 30% Bad or No Roads. The stock tires so far did nothing but gain mileage, rather than giving me confidence both on & off road. So, I've been searching for dual purpose tires for quite some time now.
Heard that there is a Ralco Speed Blaster which is good on both on and off roads. Thats for the rear and for front a Timsun which will go together I heard.
Have anyone tried these? or please suggest me a capable On & Off Road tires which can handle both good atleast to an extend.
I have linked the insta post with the Ralco tire I have seen.

Ralco is like shit on normal road zero wet grip, dual sport tyres are not good for road use only good on off road. The good dual purpose tyre are from some international brands like perilli, metzeler etc.Originally posted by Harry117 View PostHello there.

The vee rubber and ralco are not good for road use.
Go for proper road tyres with good grip level.

Pirelli scorpion str are good but very expensive and hard to find i would say better stick to normal road biased tyre Diablo rosso 2 is very good , avoid metzeler as it last very less.Originally posted by Harry117 View PostThanks for the reply bro.,

You can have pirelli sports demon at the front and ross2 at rear or ross2 at both end.
Michelin psr is also another good option. But it has slight suction noise or road noise.
Or the one i am currently using, apollo alpha h1 both front and rear, it is w rated and very good compound and is a real zero degree steel belated radial tyre.
10 to 11k for the set.
If u are from Delhi i can help u getting one.
Read more about in the tyre thread related to apollo alpha h1 ,i would be updating the thread tomorrow morning.

I agree with IJS here, just make a list of OEM tires used by manufacturers in India and you wont find RALCO being used by any of them. This brand is for those who are looking for cheaper after market tires once their original ones wear off. They are a lot cheaper probably. But i wont really use these for even my 100 cc motorcycle. Stick to OEM brands.

Hellp guys. I realised that in my dominar whenever i release the clutch while on idle it sounds little louder than when i depress it. It's like more motor or part is working.
Is it related to slipper or assisted clutch or something needs to be checked?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Its common thing across all Dominars. Service Guys would attribute it to slipper clutch bcoz they don't know much about the technicalities.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys! I am a new Dominar owner from Chennai. I took delivery of my Red Riding Hood 😁 4 days back. I have clocked only 80 km so far. My bike heats up a lot, or so I feel. No, the engine temp light doesn't come on, but I can feel the heat in the base of the tank and also can smell a "burning smell". Whenever I stop at a signal, other people first look for where the heat is coming from, then see my "big bike", yes they can't make out its a Bajaj!
Is this heating normal? The coolant level is normal. However I can't see the engine oil level as there is no center stand. I went to SVC, they say it is normal for bike to heat up. I am only concerned about the "burning smell". Please shed some light 🙂 and thanks in advance!

About the burning smell, it is normal for a new bike. My friend got delivery of his R15 V3 and I rode it back to home. Man, even a Yamaha dissipates heat and burning smell. That's just the polish getting caked. A few more miles with the hot-cold cycles.Regards,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Akash! Thank you very much for putting my mind at ease! Is there anyway to check the engine oil level by ourselves with the absence of the center stand? Is a paddock stand an absolute necessity in this case? Please let me know.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostCongrats on the sweet bike. [emoji4]

Warm up the engine by having a short ride say 2kms, then shut the engine and keep the motorcycle straight. Let the oil to settel down for few seconds then check.Originally posted by Gopiraj. This ia called hot check.
If you check on the cold engine correct oil level won't show.
Do thia first thing in the morning.

Another question guys. Yesterday I went on a short 60 km round trip. I didn't go upwards of 4500rpm in any gear. Only once in a long straight I gradually increased speed to 100kmph at about 5000-5500 rpm in 6th gear. The "orange light" for changing gear started blinking following which I immediately slowed down and never went above 4500rpm for the rest of the ride. I was varying the rpm below 4500rpm.
Will this Rev limit be released after first service or first 1000km? Can you let me know, please!
