Have anyone here used the Ceat Zoom Rad X1 tyres for Dominar? Please inform how is the Dry and Wet grip. Are they better than Stock MRF tyres while cornering on wet roads? Need tyre change both front and rear for my Dominar at 20K Kms. I have read that Michelin Pilot Street radial makes some weird noise on Dominar.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Been to Bajaj Showroom today (Khivraj - Tiruvallur), saw the 2018 colours on display.. Blue looks really cool.. Matte black is lovely..
I was told Ex-showroom is Rs 1,58,274
Road Tax & Reg is Rs 13,312
1 yr Ins (Iffco Tokio) is Rs 4,375
Handling is Rs 2,069
---------------------------------------------
Total Rs 1,78,030
---------------------------------------------
I wanted to avail 3 yrs insurance, but the showroom executive insisted 3 yrs can't be purchased but only 1 yr.. Really dumb answer..
Also when enquired abt Rs 2,069 for handling charges, executive was saying it is charged for Mirrors, saree guard & other stuff..
This was really funny.. I told him these are mandatory by manufacturer & can't be charged..
Thank god they are not charging me for removing the plastic covers from the bike
I would like to be aware on what is standard accessory for the bike and what would be charged.. Please shed some light.. Anyone from chennai, who recently got it..

1099 was the cost of standard accessories Package which includes mirrors, leg guard and saari guard. This is what i paid. And every manufacturer and company charge for these things. Don't remember if i paid any handling charges or not, i think not.Originally posted by elangoas View PostBeen to Bajaj Showroom today (Khivraj - Tiruvallur), saw the 2018 colours on display.. Standard accessories package is present in price list of all companies. There is no getting away from it.

Oh no.. With my previous bikes (Karizma R, Gixxer & Gixxer SF FI), Mirrors & saree guard was part of Ex-showroom price.. I was charged only for number plate & crash guard (gixxer)..Originally posted by Ijs View Post1099 was the cost of standard accessories Package which includes mirrors, leg guard and saari guard. I was always thinking that the Mirrors & saree guard are inclusive of ex-showroom price of all bikes..and crash guard is optional accessory..

Please enquire in multiple showrooms in your city just to give you an example i bought my bike last month and while booking i checked in two different showrooms which belonged to same dealership and i found out price difference of around 1500 Rs. And surprisingly both showrooms are just at a distance of 7 kms from each other and i was surprised to see this difference. Thanks,
Anway Kale.

I bought the glacier blue D400 on 03 March in Hyderabad.
They didn't charge me anything extra for any of the accessories.
They clearly provided me the Ex-Showroom price, RTA tax, insurance, Temporary registration charges, number plate.
My bike got the mirrors, saree guard and the crash guards fitted and there is no point of any charges for me and no handling charges too.
As far as I know handling charges are not legal but dealers do charge in order to loot their customers. Please do check with any other buyers who bought from the same dealer.
I bought mine for 1,76,000 after bargaining.
Regarding extended warranty my dealer said no extended warranty for dominar and I have read this in the user manual or somewhere else. Don't remember.
Planning to write a detailed ownership experience very soon. Will upload some pictures too. The blue color looks really amazing....!-Sharath Chandra Phani Raja Gopal

Hello, I bought d400 from kattupakkam chennai mohteej bajaj on nov 2017. Handling charge included in quotation and I belive it was around rs 1500, no proper explaination was given when i asked for. Almost all showroom charging some amount as handling charging but claims it as accesories but I am sure mirrors and all other mandatory accceseries included in ex showroom price it self. By the way on road price is 176400Originally posted by elangoas View PostBeen to Bajaj Showroom today (Khivraj - Tiruvallur), saw the 2018 colours on display.. Blue looks really cool.. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Today I left my bike for second service. I asked svc guys to check rear break to increase the bite,. Now I found they scratched disk rotor with sand paper to increase friction.
My concern is I tried this same for my previous hero xtreme disk rotor and during monsoon i found rust formation in the disk rotor as the sand paper peel off anti rust coating in disk rotor.
Will the same happen to dominar disk rotor??

Sanding is done to remove the leather residue of the break pads and to remove other sticky stuff from the disk.Originally posted by jagaddjag View PostToday I left my bike for second service. To avoid sanding make a habit to regularly clean both front and rear disk with moist or wet cloth. And if u see too much of black rubbery stuff then clean the rotor with acetone or nail paint remover.
As of now keep an eye for rusting in normal conditions it won't happen.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys, I have a couple of serious issues with my Dom for the past month or so.
First, that started last week- The SCM tried to update the ECU and messed up something which causes the idle RPM to drop down to 1k. Results in frequent stalls whike riding. Anyway to manually adjust idle rpm to 1.5k.?
Second, the rear sprocket vibrates and makes a khat-khat sound. Changed coupling rubber on the recommendation of the mechanic. Still there same.
No one at the agency has any clue.
Major issue now is the missing on dom.
If anyone have experienced this, please help...

Are you sure that they have uploaded correct ecu files which are 116 for abs and 115 for non abs.Originally posted by akki.grl View PostGuys, I have a couple of serious issues with my Dom for the past month or so.

Get the ecu reflashed or re install that should resolve the issue.
Manual adjustment in fi bikes are not recommended and if you are still facing erratic idle rpm even after the proper ecu then you should get the throttle body looked into or replaced.
There is a hex bolt on throttle body through which we can adjust the rpm but in your case it is not needed as i assume that it was fine before the ecu update.
Could you tell the exact reason for which they have updated the ecu, as it is only needed if you are facing lag issue.

I had same issue with Suzuki dealer too..
Anyways, i will try to negotiate charges and keep it to minimal or no charges..
But dealer gave me an option for AMC.. This is new, haven't heard that for bikes.. I will check details on what is covered & what is not and update here..Regarding extended warranty my dealer said no extended warranty for dominar and I have read this in the user manual or somewhere else.
On the 2018 colours, at first look you tube videos i really liked Matte black with golden alloys.. But Blue looks really good in flesh..I might as well choose blue..The blue color looks really amazing....!
