Thank Buddy.. Congrats to you too..Of the colours aval today, blue looks really good in flesh..

With the all black theme of 2018 models, a matte Red (like Vespa VXL 150) with black alloys, think would have been gorgeous.. Matte white, Matte blue, Matte brown suit the Dominar 400 more than the bright colours..

    Which showroom?
    Khivraj Bajaj, Tiruvallur, TamilNadu..

I booked from Popular bajaj (bg road, next to ktm ).
    Ok great..

They are providing Oriental insurance. Did not opt for 3 years. Can you provide me the price breakup? You can find mine just couple of pages back.
Ok.. 3 yrs comprehensive insurance cover is optional.. Most insurance advisor don't inform the customer as these guys would get the incentive for only 1yr, even-though customer is ready to opt for 3 yrs period.. No benefit to them, so they hide this information..

I insisted that i need 3 yrs comprehensive insurance straight with the bike.. After lot of argument they agreed.. If you like 3 yrs insurance straight & if your bike is not yer insured then check if you can opt for the same..

    Here is the break-Up

    Ex-showroom - Rs 1,58,274
    Road Tax & Reg - Rs 13,312
    Insurance (B2B) - Rs 9,900 (Own damage + 3rd party) for 3 yrs..
handling charges - Rs 1,319 ( After lot of stressful argument, was reduced by 750 Rs)
    -------------------------------------------
    Grand Total - Rs 1,82,812..
    ------------------------------------------

The showroom executives treat you really really dumb as if the customer is not aware of anything.. He was saying that road tax & life tax are two different taxes.. he assured no way one can purchase 3 yrs insruance, and handling charges are for saree guard, mirrors & crash guard.. I really don't know if i should pity them (or) feel annoyed..

But one thing is for sure, if the customer is not informed, they would easily loot him.. (organised loot)

Thanks, yes i would have liked black wheels with red.

Thanks to the high registration charges and road tax, we have shell out 35287 (combined) [emoji850][emoji35]
Luckily there was no mention of handling charges here. I am sure they might have added that somewhere.

Sad.. Think Karnataka has the highest road tax among the Indian states here.. 12% of ex-showroom price..

Here in Tamilnadu, it is 8% of ex-showroom price..

Luckily there was no mention of handling charges here. I am sure they might have added that somewhere.
From your detailed bill, they must have added it to your Reg charges.. Anyways check the registration certificate once you get them.. Usually the road tax details are printed there.. Just to cross check & be sure they didn't charge you more..

The day govt allows e-commerce portals to sell & register bikes, the dealers will be on their knees..Honestly, i feel you don't have to beg the dealer to discount your own money..

There is also this benefit of cash back, transparent billing (peace of mind), no stressful argument & harassment..

Brother good that you opted for 3 years comprehensive insurance but is it zero/nil dep. As a zero dep insurance makes more sense in case of dominar as it has more plastic parts and zero dep covers everything.

Thanks..Yes, it is Zero Dep insurance.. Just wanted to make sure, incase of anything unfortunate, insurance would cover most of it..I think insurance covers 95% of the estimate..

                              Nope,
I don’t have such issues. All I have is a slight feeling of clutch engagement and disengagement in lower gears when I press and leave the clutch lever
But could you explain what you have mentioned as “cables going to snap”? This might help us to understand your issue more

I reckon what you're trying to say is there is a mild "grab" on the clutch cable when you engage and disenage which a small "chik" sound. If yes, do grease the cable bob and the the clutch yoke and adjust your clutch free play. Too tight a clutch cable would cause that grabby or clutch able about to snap feel.

                                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                THE END
