Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hydraulic clutch would be good and expensive addition but it won't be much lighter then the cable actuated one.Originally posted by TheQuarterMile View PostIt's not exactly heavy but I find it a bit taxing in traffic.. Would be good to have a short adjustable leaver with a lighter feel.
Hydraulic clutch is self adjusting and you don't have to work on lever play according to the clutch wear as we do on the cable type clutch.
This is the main advantage of hydraulic clutch, smoothness and lightness would be same as Cable type one we have.
For less stress on hand and wrist you can try the adjustable lever like the one on ktm, and also keep the lever little downward so that it remains at the level of your wrist to avoid pain.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have been researching about it and would eventually like to try out the hydraulic clutch but for now I'd go with your suggestion and get short adjustable levers and adjust them with a downward bias so they are less taxing on the wrists. The position they are now seems to be in level with my wrists.Originally posted by Ijs View PostHydraulic clutch would be good and expensive addition but it won't be much lighter then the cable actuated one.

Also will adjusting the handlebar in a forward position help?
Are these adjustable levers from brands like Moxi good? Was thinking about getting these..
Any place in Mumbai where I can get good quality adjustable levers along with installation?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Guys, I have recently bought a dominar and did the 1st service this Monday( where they tightened the chain as it was extremely loose ). But again today my chain has become loose. Is this common and I just should get used to it or is there any solution( hopefully permanent ) for this. It seems to be happening quite frequently. I do have a video of the chain wobbling but I cannot share it here because the app doesn't allow me to. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
it is not common phenomenon,on the contrary I find that dominar chain needs lesser number of adjustment as compared to the bikes I have owned so far.did your bike stall in gear frequently if not then check if wheel is aligned correctly.by the way I do chain adjustment by myself since mechanics always make it super tight and do not check the wheel alignment which makes the chain loose again in no time.so tighten it by yourself and see if gets loose againOriginally posted by Sagark93 View PostHi Guys, I have recently bought a dominar and did the 1st service this Monday( where they tightened the chain as it was extremely loose ). She has stalled in 1st gear but that I believe was due to less throttle uphill. I will surely check the rear alignment but on casual inspection, it does not seem to be improper. Will do a thorough check tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.Originally posted by sun105 View Postit is not common phenomenon,on the contrary I find that dominar chain needs lesser number of adjustment as compared to the bikes I have owned so far.did your bike stall in gear frequently if not then check if wheel is aligned correctly.by the way I do chain adjustment by myself since mechanics always make it super tight and do not check the wheel alignment which makes the chain loose again in no time.so tighten it by yourself and see if gets loose again

Well I learnt something new. Haha, but it was a one off incident. I hope it was just that and once tightened doesn't cause more issues [emoji28]Originally posted by sun105 View Postthat is what i wanted to know ,stalling in gear easily throw chain out of alignment

Never used it but putoline is very good and expensive, try wurth dry chain lube it last long and very effective a friend is using it.Originally posted by TheQuarterMile View PostHas anyone tried the Putoline Ceramic based chain lube? Is it better than Motul C2 chain Lube?
But why spend so much when the gear oil gives better results in fraction of the cost.
And for the fact and for everyone don't use motul c2 in monsoon it is not meant for this season written on the pack too, use motul c3 in rains and wet condition. Recommend by motul.
C2 will cause rust issue in rains.

Can you elaborate on the better results of gear oil over putoline and motul?Originally posted by Ijs View PostNever used it but putoline is very good and expensive, try wurth dry chain lube it last long and very effective a friend is using it.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Been using gear since a very long time , i was using ep 60 and ep90, then on dominar i started using areosole based spry lubes tried motul , rolon , local one all kind but nothing last more then 250 kms it started to look dry and hungry , yes this chain eats lube like it has serious hunger pangs, then i shifted to ep 90 gear oil again, then i was advised by a senior rider to use ep 140 in summers as it can withstand heat better due to higher kinematic viscosity and ep 90 for winters,l.Originally posted by TheQuarterMile View PostCan you elaborate on the better results of gear oil over putoline and motul?
Now the gear oil last longer catches less dirt, and there is no chain noise.
Earlier i survived on ep 60 and ep 90.
