Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks bro. How about long term reliability? How much has your Dominar done? Have you faced any major issues? Or are there any issues that are common?Originally posted by Ijs View PostMostly all the con will be sorted out in the new upcoming 2019 version.
New one have better suspension , better breaking setup, multiple displays with lot of info.
By far a very good and competent touring Machine equally capable inside the city, only con that can bother someone would be the fuel economy which is 24 to 28 kmpl in city and on Highways it is good i use to get around 32 to 36kmpl.
Headlight is superb and best stock setup on any Indian Motorcycle IMO.
Low end power delivery was bit jerky in our version but that would be changed in the upcoming version.
Tyres could be better , I and many others did upgrade to better rubber though the stock mrf are very good but the wet grip was lacking.
Seat cushioning is dependent on rider and pillion taste.
I must add a very good machine now made even better by Bajaj.
Do go through all the pages if u need more info.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have doubts about reliability of 2019 dominar as it has nearly same CR of 12:1 as that of ktm 390's. I think it'll also have engine related issues due to more wear and tear of components, only time will tell this [emoji22][emoji22]Originally posted by Ijs View PostMostly all the con will be sorted out in the new upcoming 2019 version.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I don't think anything like this would happen as this time bajaj has done so much work amd testing in this motor plus the radiator is now bigger.Originally posted by #bpk View PostI have doubts about reliability of 2019 dominar as it has nearly same CR of 12:1 as that of ktm 390's. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Don't know about this group but i know few who have done good amount of touring two up. One guy did Gurugram to His home town kerela that is 6k plus kms with his better half. Slight modification to seat and a backrest for pillion. And like him there are other who have done two up touring.Originally posted by Gnayak View PostHello Guys,
Has anyone in this group done Touring on their Dominar with pillion? Can you share your experience regarding it? Is it comfortable for pillion for long distances?
Thanks.

What's the distance that you plan to cover..?Originally posted by Gnayak View PostHello Guys,

Thanks.
FYI, for pillion on stock seat any distance above 400kms is uncomfortable and if you do not take sufficient breaks that distance will reduce to 300kms..
I've been with my wife from Goa to Pune and roaming at multiple places in between, total 600kms approx, she had a bad time later when last 200kms were non-stop..
I'm planning to get gel seat pads for the pillion seat inserted so that it gives some comfort..

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey Guys, I was wondering if it is possible to replace my dominar's forks with Mojo's USD forks. If so, where in bangalore canI get this done and any idea how much would it cost? Bought my dominar four months back, so I dont have much info on changing parts and all that.
Also, at the moment, the bike is heating up alot in traffic (Blore traffic) compared to the initial days. Is this due to the weather? ODO reading is 3kLast edited by super_fatman; 03-25-2019, 02:41 PM.

Done manglore-leh-spiti-manglore.Originally posted by Gnayak View PostHello Guys,

Thanks.
Mounted additional wider seat with enough cushion on existing pilion seat.
Used carbon racing back rest(must needed)
1 hr ride , 5 mins rest and stretching ll help covereing 700+kms in a day without fatigue to pilion rider.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys, I want to lube the chain of my Dominar at home. Since the bike doesn't have centre stand and I don't have access to paddock stand, how am I suppose to do it? During 1st servicing I asked the mechanic to clean and lube the chain but he didn't do. Now my bike has done around 980 KMS and I'd like to do it on my own.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]
