mind you, its brakes of duke are better and not the abs.

anyways its your choice, if you feel confident with non abs version.
What I am saying if the ABS is not as good as duke why i should buy ABS version dominar. If the ABS was as good as duke then i would have got the ABS version of dominar.

This actually puts me to a query!
Any idea if there is a difference in the disc pads used for ABS variant and the disc pads for the NON-ABS variant?

The disc pad are same for ABS and non ABS version, if you look the ABS version of the bike you can see that the brake line is not directly connected to the caliper, it's been routed through a electro mechanical device which is call as ABS, what is does is that it monitor the speed of the bike, and when we apply brake the brake fluid is been pump to the caliper in a control way, so that the wheel should not lock. Ktm Duke 390 has bosch ABS system, but. Don't know about the make of dominar ABS.

Although its all about personal choice but i have been encountered with such situations before with my apache where rear or front wheel got locked after applying breaks. That was too scary and i controlled bike anyhow.
I can't and don't want to think about it for a 182KG bike. Thanks to ABS, i can break now wet roads without getting wheel lock.
Breaking is very good on Dominar. No complains so far.

Upshifting is quite a task on this one. Also it loves to be in lower gear. Will stall if u want to start from 0 in 2nd.

I've noticed that during test ride, wanted to see how the low end torque is, shifted to 3rd around 25kmph, and it stalled.. Even though it has 35Nm, I don't think it has much at lower range, was pretty eager to pull after 3k till 6k rpm..

That is one sad thing. I was cursing my 24nm CBR 250 for the same behaviour, but 35nm Dominar does it too?

As per Powerdrift, D400 packs 28 Nm @4000 revs or so. So yes, it has a smashing mid range and not so smashing low end but it's manageable.

                  Plus I'm surprised to read that CBR250R stalls @25 in 3rd. That's a revelation.

It did once, for me. I've never taken it below 28 on third gear after that.

Fairly simple. No idea about KB, but you can order Bolt charger and Rynox holder online. Use a relay for any electrical connections with a 15A fuse.

For hazard lights, you only need a switch to activate both indicators at once.

                          Hi Everyone.

The bike is round the corner now. Made all the payments and completed all formalities.
Luckily got my choice number too.. 😃
Awaiting registration of the bike which Bajaj Sai Service Andheri has mentioned 8-10 days.

Would like to highlight the point that they are supposed to provide us free helmet as I had read in one of the documents while completing formalities. They were forcing to sign a document which clearly said that I have received 2 Helmets from them. I clearly refused to sign unless they are really giving it.

After an argument for more than a hour they finally accepted to proceed without that.

Also one of the member had highlighted the point of gap on the tank. Hence I requested the showroom guys that I will select my ride which they agreed to. Will visit their stock yard in Kandivali on Monday to select the bike. If anyone can highlight any other points please let me know it would be a great help.

Noticed the same in Honda Hornet too.. 3k rpm and you have to shift down.. Is it characteristic Honda behaviour?

Expected a strong low AND mid range in Dominar, was slightly disappointed.. But it still pulls good after 3k, so that's nice.. Again as I said earlier, the engine was thrashed a lot by the time I got my hands on it, so gotta check it again..

Took delivery of my dominar twilight plum today from executive bajaj, malad,.Not a very pleasant experience, but hey, ride the bike and you forget the bitterness.Rode 48 kms. today and here is my initial ride impression.
1)Idling is at 1500 rpm,it starts pulling from 2500-3000 rpm.Gear should match corresponding rpm, don't worry it comes with practice.
                              2) Bike is not very friendly in heavy traffic and yes, it does heat up. But take it on the highway and you it will bring a smile to your face. In fact I was getting smell of burnt oil in heavy traffic in continuous low gear.Duke 390 owners please comment.
3)Seats are comfy, suspension I felt was o.k. for the duties the bike has to perform. In fact my scooter suspension is more stiff tnan this one.Regarding pillion my skinny daughter and stout wife sat for 28 kms each and no complains.
                              3) RV mirrors give a decent view of what is behind and are adequate unless you want to do your make up while riding.
4)Lights are adequate but yes auxiliary lights will be required for interstate night riding.
5)Bike tends to dive when front brakes are applied in a hurry because of its weight,so brakes are not sharp.Brake pads are not bedded down so have to wait and see.
Please note I am above 50 so this bike is perfect alternative for me over Enfield's.Forget about track racing and cornering, how many of us do it anyway in everyday life?
                              Bye for now,

Nice to read a lot of unique details mentioned by you.

How long were you in city traffic? Was the heat bearable?
Might be the burnt oil smell is due to the fact that the bike is brand new.

                                Cheers and ride safe!
