Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys noticed that odometer had 11 kms at time of delivery, can anybody comment if this was OK so future customers would be aware. Executive bajaj showroom is one km from their stockyard. When I enquired they said that they test the bikes before handing over to customers.

In my opinion, you shouldn't accept it. ODO in double digits before delivery is unacceptable!

Sometimes engine doesn't start with one single short press, I have to keep it pressed for couple of seconds. Has anyone else experienced it too? Second I feel sort of strain in my forearms. I guess handlebar is touch too wide/far.
If I'm not wrong, Engine not starting for the first crank was present in the KTM 390 too due to high compression ratios. Not sure about the Dominar.Last edited by Kirankj1724; 01-24-2017, 03:42 PM.

Not it doesn't stall at 25 in 3rd gear. Just to test I brought it to 18 @3rd today at 1900rpm. But luggs badly and anything below will surely stall. 20 was fairly easy, this is with clutch lever fully disengaged.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostAs per Powerdrift, D400 packs 28 Nm @4000 revs or so. So yes, it has a smashing mid range and not so smashing low end but it's manageable.
Plus I'm surprised to read that CBR250R stalls @25 in 3rd. That's a revelation.Last edited by kannanmr16; 01-24-2017, 03:58 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
mine was 6km....Before leaving from plant bajaj or any other manufacturing company checks bike by running it on ramp or manually on road.Thats why even on a new bike you can see few KM in odo.(Can't comment on double digit kms)Originally posted by Rajendra Wadile View PostMine was 26 kms and same excuse - testing
Also i have a very noob question:
I need to go somewhere on bike. Currently odo is on 270 around. My run will be around 500 to 550 kms.
Should i go for first bike service tomorrow before journey or i can go for service after journey?
After journey ODO will be around 800kms.
Request you all to please suggest so that i could plan accordingly tonight.
Thanks in advance.Last edited by ~wolverine~; 01-24-2017, 11:13 PM.

Auto Headlamp On (AHO) is amazingOriginally posted by r0rshack View PostCongrats on your Dominar owners! Could you please share your experience with the LED headlamps? How does it fare against traditional halogens?

One is Headlamp Mode which is used during night and the other one is pilot mode(default for use of DRLs)
1)During daytime - A DOMINAR can easily been for more than 1 KM as the DRL in pilot mode hits your eyes as if someone has been reflecting sunlight through some mirror - can be irritating for the onlooker but definitely creates anxiety that something special is approaching towards them.
2)During night - They are bright and cover the entire road easily.
3)I have had many instance where incoming vehicles are flashing their dipper lights toward me as my D400 DRLs are bothering them during daytime.
4) People signalling at you pointing to turn of your headlight "Light jal rahi hai "
but these are on pilot mode.
Im enjoying it ....

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Same thing. People are telling the lights are on. Lights are really bright. Almost makes me guilty that I might blind the opposing traffic. Don't know how they are going to perform on rainy conditions.
As for the odometer reading mine was 8.2 kms . I checked out some other bikes as well at the same time , which all had nearly same reading.

Irritating is the correct term here, really!Originally posted by pepperbox View PostAuto Headlamp On (AHO) is amazing

In last 5 days, I have encountered at least 3 Dominars on road in bright day light and the LED light was "on your face, sucker!".
It was like the high beam of a usual bike, now with a super white LED which is almost blinding if you are directly in front of it on the other side.

Hi
Bajaj is offering acrylic coating for bike paint protection. One of my friend has done ceramic coating on his car and I think its amazing. I am thinking to get same done on the bike. Please advise if there is any other coating which would help to evade scratches.
