Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes, i know. I am trying to get the abs to trigger so that i can feel it working as pulses on the levers. I have tried no clutch and engine stalled. I have tried brake first then depressed clutch right before engine would stall. Still very bleak feedback. But braking is still rock solid. So not too worried.Originally posted by sman999 View Post[emoji15] how can you stop the bike with out depressing the clutch? If not the engine would stall and off..

This is what i was saying... it should handle the normal pothole... but in my case it didn't.

I think I am getting the gist of what you are trying to say here. So, you say, when you pull in the clutch and get on the brakes, the entire bike jerks as in a deceleration stall jerk? If I am comprehending it right, then yes, then that's really strange. When a wheel lock is sensed, the brake levers are pulsed and the braking force is modulated so the wheels don't lock, but the wheels continue to rotate no matter how hard the levers are pressed. The pump just modulates the pressure, so that braking is there, albeit not allowing the wheels to lock.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI know engine would stall without a depressed clutch. I wanted to test rear locking as it was a muddy terrain, What i did was, slot into first, accelerate, was under 15kmph, pulled the clutch, stamped the rear pedal, i understood the jerk was cuz of ABS but the stalling like jerky behavior? No one would probably get what i say unless you experience it.
I have some questions. Does your lever(s) flutter when ABS kicks in? Does the bike itself jerk w.r.t. to lever flutter?
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

The ABS system modulates the pressure repeatedly in a wheel lock situation. So wheel will be locking for a few milliseconds repeatedly untill the rider reduces the pressure on the brake lever.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI think I am getting the gist of what you are trying to say here. This might be the reason he's feeling like the bike is stalling.
What do you think?

You have a point, but it's very minuscule of an effect to realize, especially when you add the bike's very weight into consideration, it should practically keep moving. The pedal shall flutter, but the vehicle should stay put and slow down and never jerk.Originally posted by vengalabdj View PostThe ABS system modulates the pressure repeatedly in a wheel lock situation. Actually, at low speeds the bike should come to a stop almost immediately. We don't know which surface this was tested. If it were a slippery surface such as a apartment parking lot, i think bike bike would take a longer time to stop, due to which one may experience this "stalling" feeling.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostYou have a point, but it's very minuscule of an effect to realize, especially when you add the bike's very weight into consideration, it should practically keep moving. Personally,I have experienced the locking and releasing of the ABS in my parking lot.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
First service done at 601kms . Paid Rs1090 only.
1010 for engine oil.
74 for oil filter .
6 for o ring.
Oil is made by Total so it has to be good no need for motul i guess.
Chain was also spry cleaned and lubed by some bajaj spry i think oks but that was not charged. I did not let them polish the bike and took home a dirty bike would be polishing with Formula 1.
ECU was also updated.
Will observe the bike for few days i would update here. As of now the buzz which comes and around 4k rpm has reduced considerably.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
So I'm taking the bike out for my first ever long ride. Bangalore to Gokarna this weekend.
A small point of concern, I'm not entirely sure about what backpack to get. Normally since I take the car for all trips I just use duffel bags. Will a rucksack work out? Basically I'll just have my clothes n some camera equipment.
I'm looking at the 60ltrs rucksack from wildcraft, seems good but dunno about the posture for 600 odd kms. Any input is appreciated
