Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yo bro, riding with issues in brake system can be dangerous. Take it to a reputed service centre to resolve it asap. don't ride much or ride slower till the issue is resolved. I am sure eternia would be back to normal soon !Originally posted by Unforgiv3n biker View PostTyre pressure as recommended bro.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys, after a gap of almost a year after selling my 200NS, finally booked D400 yesterday. but still confused about the colour. Family says plum but I am stuck to white. any suggestions?
It's still early to ask, but can anyone share their experiences with white colour? There are some fixtures on the tank etc, wud the dirt get stuck there(if there r no gaps)?
i believe scratches wud not be as visible on the white colour as for the other 2 colours?
one last question. i took a nice long TD twice actually. my only reason to sell 200NS was its hard suspension. I felt Dominar had a much softer suspension in comparison to 200NS on company setup. The most softest suspension setting should be even better (for me)...Pace your Ride the way to you want to Pace your Life. Both can be dangerous if taken too fast - all the time...!

Actually white colour Dominar looks unique and more eye catching since the black portions of the frame and silencer stand out more and clearly distinguish it from the other bikes. I myself chose the blue one since I like the sleeper look, wherein most of the times at night people dont give it a second glance thinking it to be a modified NS or some such bike. Just a personal opinion. Perhaps you can use the above argument to sway your family.
Another advantage of white as you mentioned yourself is that minor scratches will be invisible on it. I too had an NS which was red and micro scratches which happen during regular usage were more evident on it. Also you can get away with a little dust on a white coloured vehicle. On any other colour its more evident.
Regarding the suspension i feel the Dominar is more forgiving than the NS or perhaps the setting at which I was given the bike by the showroom is more towards comfort than outright handling. As of now I have only ridden the bike about 120 kms and i feel the other more experienced riders will be able to comment on this better.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Today I was at Popular Bajaj for PDI and selecting bike and happened to see plum and blue colour bikes which had come for service. In my opinion blue will look faded after couple of months and plum would be still OK look wise. But for me white stands out. That's my choice.Originally posted by bikerahul View PostThanks Vikramaditya. Tinting towards white a little after reading your post.
agree that the suspension is a tad softer on D400 than NS200.
In the showroom, I got info that out of 110 odd bikes which are sold more than 75 percent are white colour ones.
I am not trying to change your decision, just stated what I felt.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
First service done at 330kms as the front oil seal broke early.
It was covered under warranty.
The bill was 1501₹ at Balamuruga Bajaj, madurai. Consumables charges were high and unnecessary. Next time I'll take care of it. The wax polish was the worst thing they did.
After service the panel vibrations have increased. But the engine is smooth due to synthetic oil. I cruised back to home between 80-100. And 100kmph comes up at about 5700rpm. 96~97kmph @5500rpm exactly.
Any one faced panel vibrations and solved it by any means? Inputs would be really helpful as the vibrations are annoying. I don't have any other complaints apart from that.
Since my Fernanda is of the second batch of bikes, ECU update wasnt necessary and the Rev limit was already maxed out @9000rpm.
Bill copy.
Ride Safe!
Cheers,
Maneesh S

Out of all the three shades plum is the most shiny one and blue looks dull but it is cLosest thing to black. But real big but both plum and blue are scratch magnets dont know about white but seen few whites looking yellowish in months time.Originally posted by bikerahul View PostHi guys, after a gap of almost a year after selling my 200NS, finally booked D400 yesterday. but still confused about the colour. I have plum and use formula 1 polish once a month and it shines like new.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Oil level, coolant level, fan should kick in after 5 min of idling. Kms should be @ < 7. Check if the panels fit the tank. Check abs cables for damage. Check lights and indicators. Front brake should be hard to begin with. Check if handle is bolted firmly. No oil on the front shock abs. Check horn, is muted on some bikes. Good luckOriginally posted by smshingare View PostHi Guys,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
For first 300 kms run in, keep rpm < 4000 for gears 1 to 3 and < 5500 for 4 to 6. Downshift earlier that you think necessary and downshift a lot for the first 500 kms. As long as you follow rpm limits, you don't have to worry about max speed. Engine braking is the biggest difference between this and a 150 cc. Engine braking is good for run in, let it coast / decelerate by itself during downshift.Originally posted by smshingare View PostHi Guys,
