I got this question VJ. The 35ps is achieved at 8000rpm according to paper by Bajaj. So does it really matter after that? We can hardly extract speed after 8000rpm that too stressing the engine, right? I may be stupid but enlighten me please.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post150 in and of itself is a good speed for a tourer of this stature. Perhaps they've made sure there is a rev limiter cutoff on the bike in the ECU update, is what we can expect. People who have undergone a ECU update and who have checked their top speed parameters can probably chime in here. Did you rev your bike at idle, what RPM does the console show. If it shows 8.5 then yes, it's the ECU update. If it revs freely till 9.5 then it's perhaps, I just hope you know this thing has six gears.

Secondly, for the Dominar to extract its maximum performance and mileage and would be 6400 RPM, to round it, perhaps we can make it's 6500. This is 80% of the engine's peak RPM, which is a perfect RPM to keep her all day long, which is the RPM the engine is at best suited to be ridden all day long without any stress.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI got this question VJ. Cheers! The engine only produces torque. The turning force. The rotative force. Power is a unit of convenience invented by us to understand and compare engine potential and also what happens when we are past the peak torque RPM. Power is purely a mathematical concept with no physical status. Hard to believe when power is bandied about so much but thats where it stands. Power is as you correctly stated - torque times RPM. In simple terms this means - Increase torque at same RPM or increase RPM at same torque and you get more power.

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yeah.. It hits 100kmph @ about 5700rpm. So @ 6000 it should reach around 110kmph. I'm gonna be happy with that cuz that's where I'm comfortable to cruise on Indian roads.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostSecondly, for the Dominar to extract its maximum performance and mileage and would be 6400 RPM, to round it, perhaps we can make it's 6500. As long as they didn't tune when the peak power hits I don't bother about the rpm limitation. Cuz I ain't racing in a track.
Thanks for the explanation. I was little lazy to Google it out. [emoji12]
Btb the owners manual is poorly proof read, Descriptions & illustrations for tool kit & coolant oil are messed up. No information regarding air filter placement too.(But the info is out on Google)Ride Safe!

Mileage update:
Tank re-filled for the first time. She drank 11.03 litres of fuel. I rode in reserve for 20kms. Mileage figures are 29.91kmpl, which is awesome considering 60-40 Highway-city ride. Out of 60, 20% was ghat roads.
Fuel meter doesn't update precisely. It shows 3 bars later when u switch off and on it shows only 2. Kinda delusional that it updates only when the ignition is switched on and off. Any body else noted so?Ride Safe!

Especially on long rides, if the tank is full and you do a stretch of 80-100 kms. The fuel indicator shows full all the time, but the minute you toggle the ignition(key), the fuel indicator drops 2 bars. [emoji52]

Really?.! That's gonna be a problem especially when in the last two bars. What if we keep going thinking 2 bars leftand suddenly the tank is dry. Else we might end up damaging the fuel pump. Bajaj better look into this. [emoji53]Originally posted by Kirankj1724 View PostYes. I have noticed this couple of times.

I haven't let the fuel indicator drop beyond the last 3 bars yet. Hope this scenario doesn't occur at the bottom bars of fuel indicator.Originally posted by sman999 View PostReally?.! Has anyone else come across this?
