Its because my bike is from second lot which doesn't require ecu update hence its still working on company restricted 9.5k . Other who got the ecu updated got thier engines limited to 8.5

Nope! If your bike is from second lot, the default factory setting for ECU is set to cut off at 8.5k RPM. I confirmed that from the South zone ASM as i happened to meet him during first service. So please check with your dealer. There must be an ECU update for you. Bajaj did that purposely for the health of the engine. As long as you are in control of the rev it doesnt matter, but what about the jerkiness in lower gears below 3k RPM? I felt the difference between the vehicle i test rode and mine.

        Hi guys,
Getting my Dominar delivered on this Friday.. Any suggestions on what to check for during delivery..
And also, the showroom is offering few accessories (paid obviously), like anti-puncture kit, teflon coating, engraved number plates, etc.. Is it worth buying anything from showroom or should I go for after market accessories?
Third point, Horn; owners who have changed it, did you get it done in SVC or after-market? Does changing it affect the warranty in any way? I have asked the showroom about changing the horn, but the sales guy doesn't have any idea as apparently I am the only guy out of 14 current owners who is complaining about the horn..

        Thanks in advance for replies.

What do you mean by anti puncture kit? Is it that slime like liquid pumped inside the tire wall that you are talking about?
Teflon coating in my opinion is a waste of money.
Engraved number plates? You get IND board like embossed plates for 450Rs in the market.

Regarding horn, if you dont tamper the wire while fixing horn, warranty can be claimed by removing the horn. So it can be done pretty easily.

You 100% right on this one they would check the bikes chassis number and match it with some excel sheet and see if it needs update or not I confirmed that at time of service .

Just buy the bike from the showroom rest from local market. And i dont think anti puncture kit is need same goes for teflon it is waste if u really want some paint protection go to authentic 3m saloon.
And in my personal opinion oe horn is sufficient enough, but if u really need to change it try hella red grill or roots u dont need to cut any wires for it .
Before delivery check all electricals for proper working, check the rims for any dents or paint chip, check the break disk of any dents or bumps, have td see if the bike feel all ok, apply breaks, check the paint for any scratches or uneven shade , check under the seat for any lose connectors, check and make sure that battery is in good power and is connected properly as it is the issue faced by many open the tanks cap and have peek inside.

                    Hi folks!
Checking in after a long time onto the thread.
I had my first service last Saturday and had my ECU software upgrade .
And i noticed two things post the upgrade:
                    1. The idling rpm characteristics changed, the rpm rises a bit when you press the clutch and no throttle input . This is just something which seems odd but didn't cause any issues.
                    2. In 6th gear at around 90-95, it looks like the ecu shuts off the fuel supply to the engine for a split second and the bike jerks a bit, multiple times abruptly till the speed is below 90. This is what is the biggest issue I have seen since the upgrade.

Is somebody having the same issue ?
I am sorry I couldn't check all the pages as I am accessing through my phone, if somebody has seen this already discussed, please direct me to the right page in the thread.

I will go to the service center today and hopefully get it rectified or else , get the update rolled back, coz inka naya code production me fat gaya 😄

The service manager told me that as per his discussion with Bajaj, they are saying this is for the safety of the engine as it is in the run-in period.
This behavior should go once the 2k kms are done on the bike.

                              Hello Guys,

I am selling my RE bull 500, and Planning to buy dominar coming days.
What do you guys think about it.
I feel like change of the drive Mode
I am really impressed about the power delivery of dominar. I rode it like ~40 Kms

Went to pioneer Bajaj at Trivanrum Kerala. Made a pretty bad impression.

Now plan is to approch Deedi Bajaj and do the booking.
As far as I know, bykes are ready available.

After going through this thread I am confused, regarding the ECU settings in different lots
Which is better?? first lot or second.
