I left the bike in service center after a week. First they were going to check tappet/valves, but they found the play in chain tensioner. But I partially trust them :P.
As the part wasn't in stock, I took back the bike and rode it for around 2 week before replacing that part. In those 2 weeks, that sound was not coming from the engine.
But to be on safe side, as the part may be faulty I got it replaced.
Had the exact same issue and experience. Had experienced occasional noise and reported it during first service. No change after that. The noise increased from 800Km mark and was very audible during cold starts after 1k. It would some times go away after the engine warmed up or stay on all the time in other cases. Finally made a recording of the sound and got it fixed at 1200. Was told the issue was with the tensioner and adjustment was all that was required. Now no noise far the past 300 or so KMS.

They cross checked the issue with tensioner from other bike. As the part wasn't available they refitted my old tensioner and bike wasn't making ticking sound again. They ordered the part and changed it after approx 2 weeks. Now the bike has completed 2300 kms and it still sounds normal. But minor vibrations are still there in engine.

In recent times I've come across multiple late 2018-2019 model Dominar 400, D390, RR310, GS310 brand new bikes which have not even crossed 5000kms and have developed very horrible tick tick, knocking sound almost like something is broken. Not sure if the quality of parts is going down in recent times as part of cost cutting or it could be due to bad running-in.

Compared to older and initial 2017-2018 batch of all these bikes which feel much more solid and well built overall and have gone till 25-35K kms without any issues and never needed any jobs like valve, head, timing chain, clutch etc etc before needing the engine head to opened.

The same trend which has been happening in 4 wheeler market is now being seen in 2 wheeler market aswell, after the initial product launch hype and success of the product and after the all the media reviews for first 6 months, brands seem to diluting the quality down!

I have just moved with my bike to Bangalore. Where is the best SC to get the service done from?

Also, slightly offtopic: Where can I get a decent wrapjob from? It's not for my bike, I'm planning to wrap my helmet.

50-100 ml extra doesn't really matter. Engines oil capacity are not that tightly controlled. But putting 2 ltr in place of 1.5 should be avoided.

              Anyone can clarify on this?

2017 and 2018 oil capacity is 1.5ltrs at Change and for 2019 it is 1.7 ltrs. Do keep this in mind for personal use and referral.

If it is not visibly clear then u need to remove the handle bar and place it on the flat and even surface , there would be 4 points of contact (the 4 bends) check if all touching the surface equally., Then take some measurements of each angle of bar bend points ,if it is not touching the surface at one point then try to find the damage from that point.
                    Other way to do it.
Without removing it, find a center point at the back of the motorcycle say center of pillion seat ,now measure distance from each extreme end of bar end weight to that point and try to find the difference, for up down keep the bike straight on even surface and measure the distance of each bar end from the ground, and also measure lock to lock bar end distance from tank.
                    This for handle bar.

Is the bike drifting to one side?
Yes then first check rear swingarm balance marking should be same on both sides.
For front forks, keep bike upright with weight on the swingarm can use paddock or ask someone to hold it from back. Then sit on it keep the handle straight and Pump the suspension and notice the compression and decompression and notice the inner tubes for any un similar movement . Take and scale and check the level of inner tubes (should be parallel) also turn the steering lock to lock with front wheel of the ground and notice any tightness or too loose movement.
Inner tubes here means the part of fork which does the compression and decompression duties.

I was following this thread for the past few months. Finally sold off my beloved Karizma ZMR today and booked a Dominar!

I am relying on the knowledge and experience of you guys for all the probable problems, however small.

Isn't it true that vehicle manufacturers are selling off BS4 stock at a discount so as to start selling BS6 vehicles post 1st april 2020? I pressed the showroom manager to provide me a discount but he didn't budge. How can I avail discount on a Dominar, should I wait till Feb or March?

Hey, I just remembered, the showroom near me has got only 1 green Dominar which is kept on DISPLAY window (on a platform inside glass window). They told me that I will have to buy that one only. I don't feel assured since that piece must have been kept there at least for 6 months or more, the battery was either missing or discharged because nothing worked when I turned the Ignition Key on. Since it was kept on display for all this time, I don't think its engine was turned on even once or it was given for TD since they have a dedicated black one for TD. What should I do, is that display piece okay to buy?
