Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      WEIRD NOISE ON DOMINAR UG

1)Dominar ug and old dominar has different compression ratios.

      Compression ratio
      Dominar18 11.3:1
      Ug 12.1:1

      2)Engine head assembly is different
UG has DOHC and old one has SOHC setup.

What’s the point in sayin that Dominar ug has WEIRD noise or not the noise that the old dominar makes from the engine side?

I have the sahyadri centre stand for close to 6months now. I had compared it to paddock, grollers and few other similar products and decided that for the price and usability, the centre stand is the best. It very rarely scrapes the road (and I'm on the heavier side) and that's only if the speedbreaker is extremely sharp/high or if I rush through it.

I picked it up as I wanted to ride longer distances and that would mean me cleaning /lubing the chain during rides by myself and without any dependancy on anyone else.
I'm addition, I needed another person to help move the bike, which is not reqd now due to the centre stand..!

I have heard of the hyperrider one, but Sahayadri was 1st in the market and their products are good :-)

          Hey folks,

I have been following this thread(Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread) & Himalayan thread from past 12 months. This is because I'm confused between both of these bikes. Gained quite some knowledge by going through the queries and their responses by riders. Thanks every XBhpain for that.

I made a final decision in October-2019 & bought 2019 UG Dominar, yes you heard it right its been 2 months, I'm sorry for this much delayed post.

Actually I thought of posting my story here in this thread on what made me to buy a new bike(I own an Apache 180 which is still in use) and why go for Dominar. But decided to create separate threads in separate Forums(within Xbhp) so it would be visible & helpful to all others in Xbhp.

          So here is my journey................

          What bike, Dominar or Himalayan?

How to know that dominar has entered into reserve (usable 3l) from the fuel indicator

Ok, I've a question about Dominar engine oil pump. When i cold start engine, i see engine oil less than minimum mark and even if I leave it for 2 mins idle, i can't see oil level rising. Only when i accelerate slowly in standstill, i see oil moving up more than max mark in engine oil window. Is this normal behaviour

When all bars of fuel indicator disappear you have exactly 3 l of petrol left, but its better to refuel before that and avoid any damage to fuel pump

Can you share the price you paid for this centre stand, is it a easy fit or you need to go to any guarage to get it fit? Also do share the pic of your bike with centre stand fitted.

As per my observation, "Low Fuel" indicator(2 bars) comes up when there is 5L of fuel left. I take this as reserve mark and try to refuel before or as soon as "Refuel" (1 bar) indicator flashes.

If that's the only reason, why don't you go for Paddle Lock stand? I bought one(Explore PS1) for 2.2k on Amazon, and it made my life easy for cleaning & lubricating the drive chain. I also had GRoller, but I kept this for on-the-go toolkit for things like puncture repair.

I have been using them for only a week now. Used couple of times during the week, the bike felt pretty steady on them. For now I can say the the quality is good, should see how long will it last though.

                            Hey guys,

Just came back from 4800km mumbai - south India ride with my wife. The bike's performance was great, except for rear tyre. There were 3 punctures and the tyre now has developed bubbles.

The odo is now at 18k km and we are planning to do ladakh this season. Could you guys suggest ideal tyres for ladakh plus regular city use?

This will get replaced under warranty and u have to pay minimum amount as per the remaining tread.

Try timsun. Good tyres for cheap and you can find button type tyres with duel functionality I'm told. No personal experience but have friends who are happy with them. Alternatively you can get ceats. I like ceat
