Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It depends, but these sounds are better checked sooner than later. Any unduly sounds from engine are better inspected sooner for peace of mind, because with these engines, anything can go wrong.Originally posted by Vinayak110 View PostWill there be no major issues till 10k kms. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
There are no bubbles or cracks on tyres. Tyre wear seems normal, as it has completed only 3.3k kms tyres haven't wear that much yet. Bike wobbles without leaving handlebar above speeds of 120+ kmph (happened during weekend rides). I tried yesterday leaving handlebar at 80 kmph and bike didn't wobble. So the wobble issue must be due to Tstem/coneset. Will get it checked during 2nd service. Thanks.Originally posted by Ijs View PostWobble as in leaving the bars or without leaving. Do get wheel balancing done along with cone thing which VJ has mentioned.
The wobble that happens when letting the bar go is mainly due to uneven tyre wear, if this is the case then balancing should be checked and tyre can be replaced under warranty. I have experienced it first hand recently in my current Motorcycle and have spoken with experts from tyre company in this. Check the front tyre for any bubbling or cracks too.Never had wobble on my first generation Dominar even at 150 it was stable , there was only mild fish tail at high crosswinds but it was resolved with tyre upgrade to Apollo.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys,
Had a bad issue on the road today, hence considering upgrading by brake lines for better performance. Are the Pulsar 220F's steel braided lines a direct fit on the Dominar? If not, what other bikes have steel braided lines as standard? I am looking to replace both the front and rear brake lines.
Also, do the Duke's brake lines work?
If anyone has suggestions other than this, please do let me know.
Thanks!Last edited by kp4144; 01-28-2020, 07:03 PM.

Even I am getting the same kind of sound just 1600 km and pick up is also reduced. Please let me know if it is issue with SHIM and Time chain.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys can you help me with this.
Does dominar tend to loose it's bassy exhaust sound at higher speed. When I am riding I tend to hear mostly engine noise then exhaust note.
I just finished my runnin period and at speeds above 80 I hardly hear the exhaust but do hear engine sound.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
After 8 months of ownership and down with 8k kms the wobble is still persistent at high speeds. I've tried soft, medium, hard settings of the rear suspension but it stills wobbles horribly post 135. That wobble puts a fatal scare in my heart because a split of a second is enough for disaster to unfold. The type pressures are maintained weekly by inflating nitrogen based air. I've installed the tall visor by carbon racing. I don't know what's wrong or what am i missing. I've tried different riding postures too but nothing seems to be helping. Any one got any solutions or suggestions.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Just a thought, I am not saying this is the issue. When you use nitrogen air it tends to change with temperature. This happens to cars . If you mix normal air with nitrogen when it's not available the pressure changes. May be you can read up more about nitrogen air mixed with normal air. I could be wrong but cars do have this issue when they mix nitrogen and normal air.

Yes, the bassy sound is only persistent at lower rpms. As the revs climb, you tend to lose that bass. You do hear it during engine braking though.Originally posted by Tushark View PostGuys can you help me with this.

Thank you sanjeet. I will look in to it.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostIt will depend on which city you are from. Bangalore has Rao seats, Shivajinagar as the most recommended place for seats/cushions.
Rest of the accessories will depend on the brand. You should be able to order them online and get it fixed at a local/trusted mechanic also.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello All..
Recently I had queries related to my high emission levels.. I got my bike serviced..
Checklist-
O2 sensor clean up
Throttle body clean up
Air Filter Change
Petrol Filter change
Spark plugs change (I got NGK ones instead of stock Champian)
I did all the above, the emission level when checked drastically reduced from HC: 1269 to 50 and CO2: 1.04 to 0.23.. Guess this efforts did pay back...
Thanks to Ijs and B7ACKTHORN for your suggestions...

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey everybody, I have noticed metallic buzzing sound coming from the right side of the engine, as if a washer ring is freely vibrating at particular rpm range. While inspecting that, I noticed that the right side stock leg guard is quite loose. The bolt is fully tightened yet there is a PLAY of around 2-3 mm. If I try to pull the leg guard away from the engine (perpendicular motion) then I can push & pull for around 2-3 mm.
But that's not the source of buzzing sound, I pulled it away tightly to create tension yet the buzzing noise is still there.
I know I should get it checked out in SVC, my question is that should I go immediately or wait for another 15 days (I wish to get its first servicing done after a period of 45 days from the date of purchase because I haven't even completed 300 kms yet).

When the engine is new it may behave this way. Try to not run the bike constantly at the said rpm but modulate the rpm evenly.Originally posted by arya809 View PostHey everybody, I have noticed metallic buzzing sound coming from the right side of the engine, as if a washer ring is freely vibrating at particular rpm range. After 1st service the bike should run relatively better. It's a high capacity single cylinder bike with 60mm stroke. You will get vibrations.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)
