If it was not installed, then get it installed through SVC by previous owner before buying, as warranty will not be carried forwarded to 2nd owner.

Did not know about this. Will keep this in mind.
Also, should I be checking about an ECU update as well? Was there one for the old models?
Has the coolent mixing with engine oil issue gotten any solution?

These are my ebc sintered pads after 2k kms of usage [emoji52] was hoping they'd at least last 5k kms. Do they still have life left in them? Someone told me sintered pads don't have an asbestos layer and these still have 50% life left. Click image for larger version

Recently I noticed a rubbing noise coming from the front sprocket area. I tried loosening the chain and then again tightening it. After opening the front sprocket cover, I realized that the front sprocket has some play and might be causing the noise. I could be wrong. My bike will complete 10k km soon. It is running on the stock chain and is being lubed (every 400-500 km) and cleaned (every alternate lubing cycle) regularly. Any one who can help.

I had this issue, and lubing the chain makes it disappear. It was more of a khick khick noise. Front sprocket is supposed to have play. You can rock it back and forth slightly.

Just an update after 3 years / 8000 km

Bike handlebars and footpegs have a lot of vibration. I think i need to replace the vibration kit installed, tighten a few bolts.
Left oil seal has given way. I had it replaced once, though i dont remember which side it was. I have seen many Dominars with a slight hint of oil on the forks , even brand new motorbikes.

I can live with the weight, but not so much with the buzzing. Will probably get a simple electric scooter next.

Couple of questions for long time owners:
          1) Any specific common issued faced by 2017 models?
          2) Vibrations? I had ridden a friend's Dominar which had noticeable vibes, though the bike wasn't maintained properly I believe. Your inputs?
          3) Service quality and cost. I hear bad reviews about Bajaj's parts quality and service. I'd be happy to be proven wrong. This is the only thing that's making me reluctant.

Coming from an RE, the last thing I want is to end up with a bike full of issues which never end.

          Thank you all in advance!

I have a 2017 model, and apart from my oil seal going bust twice, i havent had any other issues. Switches are prone to go bad if you dont cover them when washing, so take care of that.
Vibrations will be there, its more of an irritating buzz that gets worse with time.
I actually had a very good experience with service , but sadly the service center here shut down. Parts are really inexpensive, and 'NOT' cheap quality.

            Hi all,
I bought dominar 400 UG. Have completed 1.8k kms.
I have done long ride around 500km. I felt both rider and pillion seat are not comfortable.
I am looking for bike accessories. I have listed below
I am staying in bangalore.please tell me some shops where I can get all the accessories.

            Crash guard
            Back rest
            Knuckle guards
            Mobile phone holder
seat cushion for rider seat and pillion.
Could please someone tell me which cushion and where I will get it?

Finally that time has arrived to rename this thread or start a new thread for sister bike of Dominar 400

Bajaj soon to launch a Dominar 250 with engine borrowed from KTM Duke 250!

Since the launch back in 2017, the price of D400 has almost increased from 1.39L back in 2017 to current 1.9L, almost 50K price hike in 3 years due to things like mandatory ABS, UG upgrade and general inflation, upcoming BS6 model will increase the price even more by around 10-15K.
So this cheaper Dominar 250 will fill in the shoes at 1.4-1.5L price point!

              What next D200, D125?

D200 or 125 wont happen, since the Pulsar brand occupies that space. Beyond the 200, there was a gap to fill. And the D250 will fill it nice.

It will depend on which city you are from. Bangalore has Rao seats, Shivajinagar as the most recommended place for seats/cushions.

Rest of the accessories will depend on the brand. You should be able to order them online and get it fixed at a local/trusted mechanic also.

Recommend to wait for the 2020 version. 2019 being the first model with DOHC, few of the owners are complaining of engine noise and thr fix has been a hit or miss as well. Hoping that the R&D team knows about this and are implementing it in the next model.

                      Hi Guys..
I have completed around 3.3k kms on my Dominar UG.. Its 4 months old..
Whenever I go above 120kmph, the bike starts wobbling.. Does anyone else face same issue?
I think it may be due to stock MRFs or something related to conset or wheel bearings..

Wobble on a new bike can mean two things, either a tight or loose T stem or too high or low front tire pressure. One thing to note is that is the Domi is a front heavy motorcycle, so it can and will wobble given the road conditions too, at high speeds. If your motorcycle stays steady till 100 KMPH and wobbles above that speed, it can mean your T stem needs adjustment, which can be done at the SVC.

                        Cheers!

Tyre air pressure was checked day before the ride. So, I will get the T stem adjusted in 2nd service.

Wobble as in leaving the bars or without leaving. Do get wheel balancing done along with cone thing which VJ has mentioned.
The wobble that happens when letting the bar go is mainly due to uneven tyre wear, if this is the case then balancing should be checked and tyre can be replaced under warranty. I have experienced it first hand recently in my current Motorcycle and have spoken with experts from tyre company in this. Check the front tyre for any bubbling or cracks too.

Never had wobble on my first generation Dominar even at 150 it was stable , there was only mild fish tail at high crosswinds but it was resolved with tyre upgrade to Apollo.

True that, it kinda differs from bike to bike right, Inder. Case in point, some RE 650s wobble and some 650 don't. But, I guess it all comes down to how well the bike is serviced too during free services and petty issues checked.

Two things, I can think of. Either a faulty cam chain tensioner, or valve clearances. I'd suggest you get them both inspected during your upcoming service.
