It might getting so annoying, you have take your eyes off the road and need look down to see the gear/time/kms reading adding to this is the inverted colour scheme for the cluster. People will get used to it I think eventually.

If they could have tried adding this to the main cluster then it would've been better. But something is better than nothing.

Exhaust sounds sweet though like the 2017 Duke 390, sounds more raw.
True that. I am also disappointed with the placement of the gear position indicator. I was riding the dominar for a longer time and its actually hard to look at the display on the tank which only shows some icons. Though the newer one looks quite good.

I expected a better console design, personally I dont like the rpm meter which goes only upto 10k (or 9k) and rest of the huge area of 10k-13k is a waste.

Also the text fonts are a bit odd.

But yeah, much needed upgrades to make the dominar a more of a complete package.

Saw this bike yesterday somewhere before dehu Road. It does sound like the newer 390 Duke. I still prefer the sound of my dominar. It has the whine of a triple while decelerating.

And here I was, wondering if the exhaust note would be similar to that on the Mojo. I'd stay with my original exhaust then.

Initial observation looks that the new exhaust weighs very less, nearly 50% less, this is a welcome change that Bajaj is trying to reduce the weight of the heavy bike aswell.

For some reason, I have never been concerned about the weight of the bike. I don't find it heavy. Can't really say if 5kgs (approximately) would make a difference in performance. Let's see if they are offering a DOHC engine this time.

The new exhaust is not designed for performance or looks, it's for making the Dominar engine complaint with upcoming BS-6 regulations coming into play from 1st April 2020.

They had to rework the exhaust, canisters, to keep the emissions under control as per new standards.

I added the performance bit because you mentioned weight (power to weight ratio). Stock exhausts are never performance oriented anyway.

Exhaust muffler is only new bit, catcon and other important bits are still down below in the convertor box. And if i am not wrong the bix is still the same with new improved baffles and catcon.

Power will increase as this would probably be a dohc unit. So i am expecting upwards of 40ps of power with smoother delivery.

That would make Domi THE PERFECT bike for sports-tourers.
I'm waiting for the new Domi to come soon so that I can decide between Domi or RE I650.

Agreed that the gear indicator should have been on the main console. Anyways now that I'm used to my Dominar, I know the gear I'm in so don't need it..

I really like the existing 2018 Dominar exhaust note, this one is annoying..

                      All other changes are welcomed..

                        Much deserved changes,
I only hope all these extra goodies like USD forks, gear indicator, BS6, DOHC(???) doesn't jack up the price way too much.

Upto ₹10K or 15K(if DOHC is present) price ex-showroom is reasonable, anything more than that is dangerous.

Ohh, it will reach RR310 price in Pune for sure.
                          RR retails at 2.4ish
                          Domi is at 2.05ish
This also bridges the gap to KTM D390 which might get power bump especially in India to distance itself from Domi. That'll open the can of worms within the family.

D390 retails at 285900 otr here in delhi, and rr310 is as good as dead here zero sales. Dominar even if increased by 15k , would still be vfm but the only issue is people can not digest spending this much on bajaj even here in delhi this is like a ghost bike or a unknown one. Many times i need to explain that it is a bajaj.
Bajaj has failed to pitch is rightly.

Thing is bajaj directly attacked the RE owners (Haati maat palo ads). And that bought it is direct comparison with REs and the main reason why people buy RE is because of fan base.

Now when we think of a bike around 2-3L, we immediately take duke 390 as benchmark. And that results in expectation of performance. Though Dominar's performance is amazing (tbh) but if bajaj could have highlighted the performance part of the Dominar then it could have grabbed more attention.

The sibling war will be with regards to the specs. 3-4 BHP difference wouldn't look a worthy option for KTM for the price.
This will be more closer to RR310 which is the real big ghost bike in Pune. I see at least 2 Dominars in Pune every day whereas RR310 is a rare sight. I see more AUDIs or Mercedes or BMW than RR310. [emoji28]
