Yes this one seems like slimmer version on the convertor box the one i have seen had the older rectangular box, seems like there are more than one version on the test. But again the test bike i saw was along time back.
If This would at least give 10 to 15mm of gc and a option to fit a main stand then it makes a lot of people happy.

I too prefer the original box and the sound. This one is too rough like a rusted exhaust, though it could be the recording device used. Also, i preferred the clock on the main meter, i referred to it all the time when riding.

Saw the bike again today. The engine sounds like a chevy small block V8 at low revs.

            1) YES
            2) 7200kms on current sprocket
            3) nope

Looks like there is bound to be some chaise noise on the go and cant be rectified fully as per the answers received for my question. The service guys have checked all chain slackness, cleaned and lubed to reduce the noise, but it looks like this is the way it will be. Very irritating!!

My odo reads 1000. Upgraded the tyres to pirelli rosso at the rear and sports demon at the front. After that, there's some weird sound is coming from the road. Is it normal? Also what should be the optimum pressure for these tyres?

Better and softer compound tyres have better grip and creates a vaccum with the road and thus there is some vaccum kind of noise in few good compound tyre specifically at the rear. Depends on the pattern of the tyre too this sound is more prominent in the Michelin psr.
Just make sure u are not running on a dry chain, lube the chain and adjust the slack if needed.

And on all that Rosso 2 at the front would have made the package better. Most people avoid front grip whereas it is the front which steers the bike and leans first in to the corner amd out of it. Similar grip tyre at both end are recomended.
The one u have is bias ply at front and full radial at rear both tyres are good but similar would be even better.

Thanks for the reply. What pressure should I maintain for them. For my stock tyres, I was using 29 , 32

29 32 works the best on stock size.

Yesterday I heard the same noise at the speed of 95kmph

I was in 6th gear and at a constant speed of 90. And at one point twisted the throttle for quick acceleration and I heard the tapping) knocking sound for about 2 seconds.

(Odo is 3700. Engine oil is just above minimum mark and it looks too dirty.
And I was driving from college to home at 2 pm. The sound was not loud, if I were wearing a helmet I couldn't have heard it)
my bike also makes same sound when i accelerate little harder than normal, sound goes away in 2 to 3 seconds. however sound is not heard every time when i accelerate hard , 1 out of 10 times it makes that sound. first i thought that some part of the fan is loose that is making sound but after few days i learned that its not fan and sound is coming from somewhere else, its not chain but i am pretty sure it is coming from front of the bike.

90 percent sure it's a clutch lever noise. Try holding it down and accelerate it won't come. Because of vibration that lever vibrates like anything and That's what making that noise. Same with my bike. Or a number plate holder if you have HSRP plate with its holder they sell there with.

I checked that.. it's not clutch lever, and it's definitely not the numberplate.

                              Guys,

I am planning an upgrade to my 10 year old Pulsar 180 (Have another 8 year old P220 still going solid). I commute mostly in city (60 kms/day) mostly in night and occasionally on highways (~1100kms). All I look for is comfort in ride, great smooth engine, okayish looks, not too street urchin appealing and not too horrid enough to make the eyes bleed.

I have shortlisted several other bikes including Dominar. Just a few observations:
                              1. Puny fuel tank - I am used to ~600km range in a tankfill. Domi's 13L plus mileage of 25-26 will ensure a fuel stop for me at almost half of 600 I am used to. Also, in the long rides, this isn't helpful either. To add insult to injury, no reserve. Have to fill the moment fuel bar starts blinking even if I am in mid of nowhere. It starts blinking at I guess last 3L of fuel reserve. Biggest turnoff! Carburetor bikes with huge tanks have ruined me! In cities its ok but on long rides, I can't imagine being in a binding position to refill every 300kms as I often travel to remote, away from usual route villages in mountains. The fuel availability there is just a matter of your stars and your deeds staring back at you.
                              2. Absolute brute presence and apex predatory stance - I am just in awe of its presence and appearance at front. Rear is too skinny as per me but front..dude! Blew me away moment I saw it in real-life. If I ever ignore all its negatives and buy it, it will be just because of its frontal presence!
                              3. Headlights - While good in lights, were below expectations. The corner remains dark, another deal breaker. I travel mostly in nights, and often on dark patches. While nothing that a P180 stock headlight could not save me from, it actually illuminates the corners well. Pretty amusing seeing a Domi lagging behind on this especially to its 10 years old cousin. Also, LED DRLs aren't too good in foggy winters of Delhi, atleast not better than halogens. Another letdown. Any thing we need to do to alter this situation?

I guess that's mostly it. Look forward to your responses and a subsequent decision making based on that. Thanks!
Na tha kuch to khuda tha, kuch na hota to khuda hota, duboya mujhko hone ne, na main hota to kya hota!

                                1) Tank range will be definitely less in 300-400cc category until and unless you go for R3 which has a better tank range than its competitors. But that's where you will be making the sacrifice.

                                2) Dominar does have that street presence.

                                3) Put auxiliary lights to meet your needs. A good pair of them will do a great job.

Also you might find dominar to be a bit buzzy single its a 373cc single cylinder engine but in return you are getting a very cruiser friendly bike, superb torque and power and a bike which can cruise comfortably even at speeds of 120-130kmph without has hassle.

So if you are planning to upgrade to dominar then go for it but wait till the new one launches soon.
