Update: Read the Shell UK docs.. It say 99RON.. Right then, I'll switch to speed for sometime.. I opted for shell coz it improved performance on my bothers old Fazer quite a lot.. Will alternate, 3 tanks Speed and 2 tanks Shell.. Saves money too
Vpower is 91 octane only. One of our DOCB members spoke (and shared the recording with us) to the Shell customer care. They confirmed it's 91 with added additives.

This weekend i'll surly check with the MRF faast in Indiranagar.
Well, I'm sure they can fix tyres with punctures in it. But if you are looking to get it replaced, then I'm sure it'll depend on the tyre condition and if they consider it be 'used under normal riding conditions'

Oil smoothing agent - Khivraj Marathalli (Bajaj) also asked me (3M brand) but I said no. I'm changing my oil at 5k interval so don't think this will have a big effect. Plus many fellow Domi owners don't use it.
Yes oil comes out from the 3rd filter... I think you must have done before refilling else it will stop only when all the oil is drained.. Leaving the engine with no oil.. And then getting another bottle of oil for you...

Yup, I too thought the same later for Oil smoothing agent.. Not needed..

So regular fuel is 91 as well..?

Strange. Because I remember them cleaning the 3rd filter last. Let me keep an eye on this next service.

Regular fuel is 91 octane. Think Ijs had mentioned in earlier posts that all fuels are now minimum 91 octane since few years, and that the NCR region has something (ethanol?) mixed to help reduce pollution further.

I'm still not satisfied with the front braking... Brake pads and disc seem fine. The brakes have the stopping power but for some reason they are not giving that initial crisp progressive bite. All the the SVC ppl did was sand the pads and disc a bit which worked only for a while. I'm going for a ride this weekend and I don't know how exactly to address the issue. [emoji37] Can someone please suggest?

Options I see are changing the brake pads, master cylinder and bleeding the brake line.

The SBS ceramic brake pads I mentioned about in the previous post where unfortunately available only for the rear.

Ride another Dominar and see if that bike has the bite that you wish for.
When they did sand the pads, they removed a layer or so and made it all nice and smooth. With usage, it should become better. The results immediately after such work is not amazing usually. It takes time for the brake pads to settle in.

Well for me too the bike won't stop as my brother's Yamaha Fazer did but that is how it's is designed to.. It took sometime for me to learn when and how to brake, control it to avoid incidents.. But now all is good, try to understand it rather than trying to switch... This bike has power and weight, powerful stopping may have consequences and then we will have the ABS kicking in..

What I have experienced with 500 kms of riding dominar is, that dominar brakes are excellent how ever it needs little hard press, especially back and once weight shifted to front, little more press of lever would cause great stopping force. However tires seems to be not matching with stopping power of brakes hence ABS kicks in earlier than it should. May be better tires are offering better even better braking.

What if I see nothing like that?
If u something like this, which usually occurs in morning start, if it is only water and there is no other smell than it is perfectly fine, that water can be muddy or black due to dust in exhaust.

It's carbon cleaner. To be used every 3000 km once. Full the tank and empty the whole bottle in tank, that's it.
My friend is going to use this on his Yamaha R15 V2.
On bottle it says it will clean the engine parts removing the carbon deposits.
Should I try it with my dominar ?

It is yamaha's version of injector cleaner and i don't think there would be any harm in using this but 3000kms is very short distance to use it, i personally have used stp injector cleaner on my carbureted bike at 10000kms interval but on dominar i am yet to use any such thing.

This bottom filter they alway open in the end but before filling the fresh oil, u must have missed the process. When this is opened in the last after draining the old oil around 100ml of used oil comes out from here.

Yes in Delhi since april 2018 all fuel sold here is 10 percent ethanol mixed and if i am not wrong by this year this would be the case all accross the country. And one more thing is that ethanol in itself works as a octane booster.

But ethanol has lower calorific value too. So I think it should affect fuel efficiency. I don't know how much corrosion it may cause as ethanol being corrosive.

Finally Bajaj heard peoples cry and added the shift indicator.

I am disappointed with the placement! They have shifted gear indicator, ODO, trip meter and time to the tank area which only had icons and used the instrument cluster to display warning text messages like KTM!

It might getting so annoying, you have take your eyes off the road and need look down to see the gear/time/kms reading adding to this is the inverted colour scheme for the cluster. People will get used to it I think eventually.

If they could have tried adding this to the main cluster then it would've been better. But something is better than nothing.

Exhaust sounds sweet though like the 2017 Duke 390, sounds more raw.
