Yup, can confirm Bajaj/KTM has silently increased the oil to be filled to 1.7L for all their 373cc engined bikes Dominar/D390/RC390 for their MY2019 models. This comes up after hearing so many people complained that even after filling 1.5L the oil level always stayed below the Min mark

Also, meanwhile filling the same quantity 1.7L of oil on older bikes before 2019 is not recommend even though internally 90% of the components has remained same on the bottom block which holds the oil. Probably best would be pre-soak the new oil filter in fresh oil before replacing it on the bike, then fill exact 1.5L and then check for 100/200ml topup every 2500-3000kms

NOTE to new 2019 owners - Many Bajaj/KTM service center people are still ignorant on increased capacity of 1.7L and they will still end up filling only 1.5L, ensure that you check the right quantity is filled and the quantity is mentioned on service bill.

Not sure how you had been checking engine oil. I was advised by two of the reliable Bajaj service managers that the oil level should be checked after idling the bike for a while and the allowing it to settle for a minute. If u check by this method and pour in 1500ml it's always correct from my experience.

You can check some old posts as few 2017 Dominar owners too faced this low engine oil issue after filling 1500ML. They even raised complaints but didn't got any response from SC.

Why not simply go by the inspection window, I've stopped going by quantity from when I started purchasing 5L can's to save some bucks.

Fill oil up to the 'Max' mark, run the engine for 2 minutes, kill the motor and then let it set for 2 minutes, then add more oil till its at the max mark.

Don't own a Dominar but logic remains that irrespective of quantity oil should be between the min and max mark, we keep it at the max mark to prevent oil level going low from burning.

I am using the one from "ZANA" & satisfied with it. Haven't had a fall till now by God's grace, But, those who had, have given a very positive feedback on these guards.

Which amongst these three brands has the sturdiest one that I can bet my money on ?
Any Dom owners with any of these crash guards, can you please share your advice/experience/feedback and help me with getting the better one ?

Installed the centre stand from Sahyadri Moto on my dominar. Installation was somewhat troublesome and the bike looks as if it will fall later. I'll be using it mostly for maintenance purposes.

This is true, I have the 2019 Dominar and my oil level is just on the min level. Some mornings I don't see even that. When asked about that to the Service center folks, they say that it is normal and shouldn't be a problem. I have ignored thinking that it is not an issue. Earlier my coolant level was at the minimum too. Same reply from the service center folks but I insisted they topped up on the first service which they hesitantly did. Plz advice if the engine oil needs to be topped up.

One more issue I face is at slow speeds (15- 25) in 2nd gear, the fueling seems very jerky and inconsistent. I cannot just ride without the RPM being very unstable in 2nd gear under 30kmph. Is this normal??

Can you share the costs associated? I presume you own the old Dominar and not the 2019 one, right?

                    Hi all,

My houndour (dominar2019) just completed 800kms

I have had same issue as min level of engine oil and coolant although I had topped up coolent myself because I had a very congested traffic route for weekdays.

Till 1st service I did not cross 60 70 kmph

                    After 1st service
I'm shifting gears at 4 or 4.5k rpm
And on long riding at 80-100kmph in 6th gear
                    Not crossing 5.5k rpm
                    I hope this is fine??

I had first service at 540kms

Issues I had were as follows

                    1. Concerned about min oil level
Resolution : workshop guy said might be while PDI engine oil was used just 1500 ml. He was aware of 1.7ltr oil and all good now.

                    2. Front shocks make some noise only when moving bike with hands
Resolution : he said he will check but did nothing but still after service there is no noise and front shocks feel good now.

                    3. Rear break was very loose
Resolution : play has been set correctly but still dint liked the rear break feedback getting used to 70-30 breaking yet

                    Also to note
I was very concerned with exhaust sound on high speeds but very happy how dominar sounds amazing at low speeds low rpm and silent note cruiser on 80 90 kmph.

Very happy with my purchase [emoji4]
                    Also as per my odo
                    getting a mileage of
                    33 on highways
25-27 in city I travel in very heavy traffic

                    Here is my Hondour
Why name houndur. It's a Pokémon which has same facing as domi front also the teeth and side profiles resemble in black [emoji4]🖤

Yup, I too see through the window and 1.5L is less pretty much when you do a oil change.. It's always been about 1.7L to me..

Yes i agree. Seems like a faulty design. Just looking at it feels like it will fall down.

Yeah. But when parked upwards on a slope the bike remains very stable. Another solution would be to sand down the bracket where the stand touches, allowing it to extend just a little bit further.

Hey everyone, got my Green D400UG on 5th June'19. Have ridden some 125 KMs till now. So far so good. Bike does look premium but feels heavy in Bangalore ORR traffic.
Took 5 yrs B2B insurance instead of company 1 yr B2B + 4 yrs 3rd party at additional Rs. 10K, in the hope of keeping the bike for 5 yrs or more.

Haven't got registration number yet. How much time does it usually take in Bangalore?

Haven't looked for the slight pulling to the right but will check. But tyres have weights attached for balancing. Is it normal in new bike? Could they have been fixed to address issue for pulling to the right?

Any suggestions of basic accessories like
                                1. Seat cover?
                                2. Instrument console screen guard needed?
                                3. Where to put helmet lock?

My apologies for all the questions... but I have all of them in my mind!

                                Thanks a lot.
