Would suggest to check the index before extended usage. Usually the brand website has a technical spec sheet of all oils they sell.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Have never checked details, but it is possible that the tolerances of the moving parts will change if thicker oil is used for extended periods. I haven't checked the viscocity index either of W50 and W60. But I had checked the kindex for gear oil W90 and W140. Even 1.xx difference matters quite a bit. I don't remember the numbers off the top right now.Originally posted by Greymatter View Post

Thanks you.
It's all the same everywhere... You need to be there during the servicing to get the best out of them...

Oh is it! Will they really allow me into the workshop when they are servicing the vehicle? Because I never entered the workshop for the services done on my TVS Apache. They used to ask me to wait in the waiting hall.Originally posted by ginzon View PostIt's all the same everywhere... You need to be there during the servicing to get the best out of them...

If you have a good rapport with the SVC manager and the technicians working on the bike, you can get lucky. I always try to maintain a good rapport with the SVC mechanics and technicians. Most of the time i end up sitting next to them looking curiously at the work they're doing on my bike. It is also a learning for me, personally. Customer lounges/bays are too boringOriginally posted by Swadeshi View PostOh is it! Will they really allow me into the workshop when they are servicing the vehicle? They will ask you to do so, however they usually won't mind if you be there.. Here in Pune, I've been to two different service centres and they don't really mind me being in their workshop.. Sometimes I even lend a helping hand..Originally posted by Swadeshi View PostOh is it! Will they really allow me into the workshop when they are servicing the vehicle? Re: Tyres for Dominar 400
There are cracks all over my tyres, front and back and yesterday while driving from my office to home, at a traffic signal I felt some wobble on front side, I thought something might have pierced my tyre so I checked and I saw a bulge on my front tyre, I am not sure what actually caused it, cracks was 1 part but this was little scary 😅Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostApollo has the same factory spec tyres and with the feedback on the forum, they are very good.

Re: Tyres for Dominar 400
When you write a post or quote, you get an option to add photos. It accepts only jpeg format so gotta check that.Originally posted by H8ndy View PostThere are cracks all over my tyres, front and back and yesterday while driving from my office to home, at a traffic signal I felt some wobble on front side, I thought something might have pierced my tyre so I checked and I saw a bulge on my front tyre, I am not sure what actually caused it, cracks was 1 part but this was little scary [emoji28]

Cracks and bulge can be checked by MRF if it's less than 2 years old. Tyre warranty holds true in this context.Regards,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Changed the clutch assembly @40k for Fernanda. Any one else had done that for their rides here?
Just wanna know how bad was the clutch when they changed. Fernanda's clutch was 80%worn out. The riding ratio was 80-20/ Highway-city. Highways would includes ghats too.
Also I need some help with identifying the cause of mileage drop.
Airfilter is good, fuel filter changed, oil change was done 2000kms back with oil filter. Chain Sprocket is 3000kms old. Fuel tank evaporation pipes were checked and cleaned. Still no improvement in mileage. Tyre pressures are correctly checked before each ride, set to 29 & 32 respectively.
29-30kmpl was the mileage earlier when cruising between 110-120kmph. Now its erratic & drastically down to 26-27kmpl.Ride Safe!
Cheers,

Have you ever cleaned the fuel injectors and the throttle body? If not, the try that. I'm using the FI cleaner by STP (@9000 odo right now) and it's recommended to clean every 5k Kms. If you have never done it, then recommend to take it to a good mechanic and make them open the throttle body and clean it rather than use these cleaners.Originally posted by sman999 View PostChanged the clutch assembly @40k for Fernanda. Thanks. I need to get the throttle body cleaned as u said. I'll get it done in the svc asap and also try that STP cleaner too. Will post updates after service.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostHave you ever cleaned the fuel injectors and the throttle body? If not, the try that. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
You can do either I would suggest. Not sure if the stp cleaner (or liquimoly or abro) will work too well if it's never ever cleaned. But a good ol fashioned open and clean operation would work I guess.Originally posted by sman999 View PostThanks. I need to get the throttle body cleaned as u said. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I am going with Apollo Alpha H1 tyres for my dominar,
It was not available at the moment and the shopkeeper said it will be available on Monday or Tuesday and the funny part is he said I am the 2nd customer in last 6 months who has asked for this tyre, most of the people just buzz off after hearing the cost.. And there I was thinking BIKE ACCHI HAI TOH USKA SAB KUCH ACCHA HE HONA CHAHIYE
And the funniest part, that guy called Apollo CC for the enquiry of tyre, and then he asked for its cost, btw the mobile was on Loud Speaker, I heard the Cost and I was OK with it considering the specs it was providing and to my surprise that guy quoted me 1.5k less of it and I was like WHY THE HELL BRO.
he said margin nikalta hai, chal jata hai.. aap ruke, sune, maan bhi Gaye toh mera bhi farz banta hai k dono mein se kisi ka koi nuksaan na ho..
It was a bouncer for me, but let's c.. I will post again when the tyres will arrive.
And I am.not getting any option to post photos here.. nowhere.. Nada..
Can someone post a screenshot as whr can I find the photo option,
Thanks
