Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thank youOriginally posted by neeljinwala View PostThe bolt can be drilled out or you can visit a welding shop who has good workmanship. They'll weld a piece of metal on the broken bolt area and un-screw the entire thing out.
Have exams currently . Will update as soon as i fix this

Yes the quality of few bolts on Dominar is surely questionable and its nothing wrong in changing them. While i was fitting my windshield on my bike the number plate holderOriginally posted by dip_avvy View PostMany owners have faced the broken bolt issue. Is there any cure to it before it happens? Any stronger bolt alternative? Or anything else than that?
was moved below the headlamps housing. While removing those bolts i could see the quality it was on, and in any case i wanted a bit longer bolts then were available on them so got them and fixed the housing of number plate. When you compare those two bolts you can see the difference in quality of both.
Also i have heard issues with bolts fixed on guards where people have got them broken while fixing after market crash guards.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I had the same issue on my bike and it took two visits to the SVC to fix it. First time they glued it like you mentioned but it happened again after which I lost it at them and finally they fixed it. Apparently they claim to have changed the part but I still always keep an eye for leaks in that region. Regarding the quality of the bolts, one of the foundation bolts of the engines came off, do make sure to get all the bolts checked at every service like it's mentioned in the manual.Originally posted by Abhii97 View PostThanks for the reply . Ill check for any more such oil leaks in the future and replace the gasket if required and one more update like many owners even my crash guard main nut broke because it had a slow fall . The crash guard is pretty good but now will have to find a way to remove the broken nut.
Im posting a lot of issues here recently . But I can assure any prospective buyers that this is one amazing bike except for a few negligible niggles which are part n parcel of any vehicle ownership

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I went for a short 35 km trip and i was varying my rpm and did short burst to 85-90 kmph with linear acceleration for 3-10 secs only. The bike felt a little bit struggling at 70-80kph in 6th gear in heavy crosswinds. Still it was manageable. Experienced vibes when reaching 3k and 4k rpm, the left footpeg had buzz all along and made me take rest after 20 km ride. Today , there's a buzz sound coming from front wheel, maybe headlight assembly, but annoying. Rear wheel thuds over bumps at 25 kmph ( earlier it didn't). My bike has done 280 kms and these small issues(hopefully) crops up makes me question the quality of components used. I'll update once i inspect myself and tighten all nuts bolts and then I'll give update.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Even i got my bike on Thursday and I have done 100 km so far and even I can feel the buzz in my hand and legs.
While taking the delivery mechanic told me that you can take bike upto 6000 rpm or max speed of 100 kmph. But manual says to stay within 60kmph before 1st service and 70kmph till 2000 km.
Because I don't trust bajaj sales guys I am keeping my bike below 4000 rpm for now. After 1st service I will try to push bike more.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys.
Im about to purchase the 2019 model and visited Bagga Link KB for a test ride. The test mule was in a pretty bad state (but that hasnt deterred me from not buying). The rear brake was virtually non existent. Is this the same on all 2019 bikes?
This is the price quoted -
Ex Showroom New Delhi 174125
RTO - 14260
Smart RC - 200
Std accessories - 1940
Insurance - 19858
Something random - 685
I feel the insurance is high. Looking online at a few policies (policybazaar) am getting zero dep. insurance for 14-15K (IDV of 1,61,901). Can anyone shed some light on these figures so i can cross verify.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi , my bike has done 1300kms as of now and i personally feel the engine is not at all free for the first 500 kms . It opens up graudally and vibes settle down. They are not absent but still very much within limits . Ive done three 250 kms trips and the bike gets smoother and smoother. Dont baby the engine too much start increasing the revs after the first service but dont redline her and most important dont lug . Anything below 14kmph requires 1 st gear and try not to half clutch regularlyOriginally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostI went for a short 35 km trip and i was varying my rpm and did short burst to 85-90 kmph with linear acceleration for 3-10 secs only. Even i was very skeptical about bajaj and was very much worried , But personally i feel that you stop worrying about the small issues and start enjoying the ride . Try it once and you will feel how amazing the bike is. Ride safe and responsibly coz the bike has good amount of power [emoji91]

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Pictures Alert
My Houndor has completed 2000 KMS now &
Loving every bit of it (Just a minor issue at bottom of this post)
I just got visor upgrade from AutologueDesign, Pune
few pics from Saturday ride
Also too use same HSPR number plate found out it can be bent a little to fit in the same nuts below headlamp as below
It does feels sturdy enough. Also did a ride of 180KMS with that fittings.
Wind Blast is avoided quite well with new visor But have not gone above 104 yet. can't directly comment how good it is yet.
Issue : Is this normal ?
Water fogging inside light. I have cross checked all the nuts & fittings. It was also same with stock visor.
Did anyone else also faced this ?
BE GOOD

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
1) the engine warning and few other lights turn on when you turn the ignition key, but go off few secs after you cranked the engine. Bigger concern is if they stay on even after that.Originally posted by Maverick_BOSS View Post
1.The engine warning light always comes on whenever I switch off the ignition and turning on after some run,say for example in a traffic.(third picture) 2.Also does the push starter takes some time to crank the engine comparing to r15?
2) I'm not sure regarding the comparison to the r15, but once I hit the crank switch, the engine fires up. It takes like a second. Get your battery checked if you feel it takes longer.Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Headlamp fogging has been raised few times in the past, and though I have not faced this personally, it's not an issue. Except if it gets to a point where you find water inside - you'll then need to take it to SC.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I've tightened all bolts of visor and headlight assembly and rode for short distance, there was buzz albeit low. Clocked 299 kms in 6 days. My office to home distance is 3.5 kms and i do 2 trips to my home daily. It's really hard to control throttle imho. On open roads i wished to cruise at 90-100 , but I'm waiting for the 1st service and then hopefully i can take it to 100-110 for short burst. So much excited for long trip.
Being 5"6' , i am comfortable enough.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys, in the user manual of 2018 Dominar it is mentioned to engage 6th gear over 70 kph. Now, I don't know if because am light weight or what but my bike doesn't feel strained or lugging when I ride at 65 kph in 6th. Anybody else had similar experience here?
P.S- It's not like I always do 65 kph @ 6th, I try to keep it at 70 kph or above.Last edited by Greymatter; 07-02-2019, 12:56 AM.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]
