Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Anyone has tried a 47T or 48T sprocket? Came across this brand called Sparrowteck. They make performance sprockets which work with the stock chain. Available in 42T, 47T & 48T. I'm due for a chain set change soon as I have completed 14k kms. Rolon is also an option.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys, I bought my new bike last week and covered 200 km mostly in traffic.
I saw today that coolant level is decreased to minimum and engine oil is also at minimum.
Is this normal in brake-in period as this is the new behavior for me.

It depends on not just 'What you saw', but also on 'How did you see it'.Originally posted by Akk789 View PostHi guys, I bought my new bike last week and covered 200 km mostly in traffic.

For the engine oil, warm up the vehicle for 5 min, then let it settle down for 2 or 3 min, then observe through the window.
For the coolant, yes it does drop for a new vehicle, but they will top it up at first service.
Please post pictures if possible.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
You are right when engine is warm then I can see oil in right level.
In my previous bikes(rr 310 and Duke 390) I never had this issue. I was able to see correct oil level in cold engine.
I got coolant refilled and mechanic told me this happens in New engine.
Still it's odd that engine is so hot that coolant dropped to min. I will wait for further response from bike.Originally posted by Indivar View PostIt depends on not just 'What you saw', but also on 'How did you see it'.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Well, I finished 500 kms and the service due icon has started blinking on my console. Problems i noticed,
1) The thumb starter sometimes take 2-3 crank for starting engine.
2) The gear shift are smooth but makes thud sound while engaging first gear.
3) The Rear brakes are almost non-existent feeling. I really need some feedback from rear brake.
4) Vibes are felt on right foot pegs, near 3k and near 4k RPM. Tolerable but not you'll like in long tours.
5) Mirrors vibrate on same RPM, almost impossible to see what vehicle is coming behind.
Well, when i sometime ride my Unicorn 160, it feels a hell lot quieter and smooth like butter. lol
During break - in , when i cruise at 50-70 kmph on highways for short distances 8-10 km , varying RPM. I see many new Pulsars (without number plates) are ridden at 80+ speeds and even Splendors they overtake me and i feel i'm riding too slow. I have taken to 100 kmph too for some secs in linearl fashion and then came back to 60-70 speeds. Did i hampered/stressed my engine wrong while break in ?
btw was enjoying ride and took some shots.

While assembling the engine/bike they simply fill up the coolant till the top mark. But only when engine runs properly, coolant occupies each and every cavity of cooling system. Its normal.Originally posted by Akk789 View PostStill it's odd that engine is so hot that coolant dropped to min. I will wait for further response from bike.

This are usual points, mention during first service & mechanics will take care of it.
P.S. You haven't stressed you engine by taking it to 100KM/hr once, RELAX!!!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys my bike is new and week old.Recently i started feeling vibrations on the right side handlebar a lot on the accelator and nothing on the left side.It started feeling stiff and numb a bit on my right palm after the small ride i went for.And the same was with the right side footpeg.Hopefully it would get lesser with the first service done.I had heard the new 2019 have sorted out vibrations but no they havent and its still there pretty much.Apart from this its a beautiful machine and joy to ride.
Went for a small night ride with friends for 100kms and thoroughly enjoyed it.
About the new shade someone asked i was told by my dealer that new red shade would be launched apart from green and black that is available though no dates to confirm when.

Yes, either the bike reviewers have got a properly run-in engine or we need some more time to settle it and feel the same as reviewers.Originally posted by Vijay Thacker View PostI had heard the new 2019 have sorted out vibrations but no they havent and its still there pretty much.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
On that note has anyone tried windshield which bajaj provides as accessory.
I am planning to take it from bajaj and would like to know if it really does the job.
Also I am planning to get a mobile holder from bajaj only.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hearing this rear break problem from almost all 2019 Dominar owners. This might be an ABS issue. Probably it is kicking-in too early and releasing the breaks even when the wheel is not locked. Does ECU has anything to do with functioning of ABS?Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View Post3) The Rear brakes are almost non-existent feeling.
