The quality is nothing great. But it does the job. Other options are 3x expensive and that's why they sell, imhoOriginally posted by karpawar View PostIs anyone using a crash guard on Dominar 2019 ?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes mate, I am pretty much aware of the method of checking oil with warm engine warm up for 2-3mins upright, letting it settle down on a flat ground for 5mins then make the bike upright and then check the level, this method works perfectly on all my other vehicles except for on the Bajaj/KTM 373cc series bikes, still the oil level will be on a low side.Originally posted by sman999 View PostNot sure how you had been checking engine oil. I was advised by two of the reliable Bajaj service managers that the oil level should be checked after idling the bike for a while and the allowing it to settle for a minute. If u check by this method and pour in 1500ml it's always correct from my experience

It's always been about 1.7L to me..The only problem is the inspection window is pretty much useless and most of the is fully covered with gung from inside after 2000-3000kms after cleaning it from the inside when the clutch cover is opened, after that it's barely 20% visible, so sometimes just to drain completely and fill-in full after measuring again is the only route to go.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostWhy not simply go by the inspection window
Originally posted by Petronius View PostThis is true, I have the 2019 Dominar and my oil level is just on the min level. Some mornings I don't see even that. Concerned about min oil level
Resolution : workshop guy said might be while PDI engine oil was used just 1500 ml. He was aware of 1.7ltr oil and all good now.For new 2019 bike owners who just got their bikes, it's advised better stick to whatever SVC says and puts you through even if the oil looks on low side until you have free services, after that maybe you can things to your own hands.Originally posted by dip_avvy View Post1. During initial 200Km, I saw the engine oil level was low, so topped it up myself to the mark.Last edited by kiran2508; 06-12-2019, 12:17 PM.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Hmm... You say the inspection window gunk's up after 2~3k km's, I wonder why?Originally posted by kiran2508 View PostThe only problem is the inspection window is pretty much useless and most of the is fully covered with gung from inside after 2000-3000kms after cleaning it from the inside when the clutch cover is opened, after that it's barely 20% visible, so sometimes just to drain completely and fill-in full after measuring again is the only route to go.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Here is the price list for Khivraj bajaj, Indiranagar. See the last line for 2019 Dominar. Prices are same / similar through Bangalore. No idea about Popular Bajaj, Bannerghetta rd though. Interestingly, they are selling 2018 version too at 2.17 lacs.Originally posted by varunrao94 View PostOne question for the guys who bought their bikes in Bengaluru, what's the on road price, deductions and total cost ? Also, did anyone purchase their bikes in popular bajaj bannerghatta Road near meenakshi mall? How was the experience? Thanks

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If you are not using standard engine oil then switch to standard oil first and observe the performance and also check for leakages, if no leakage then check for large amount of black residue in the exhaust.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostHello everyone I came across one problem ii n my bike the engine oil is decreasing by 80 to 100 ml every 1000 kms is it okay or is thier any problem in my bike no smoke from exhaust once I got 680 ml after drain in 2000kms help me
I really hope your bike is in warranty.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
IMO Dominar will be a great beginner bike. The power delivery is linear and should give you a thrill in a sane manner. The service costs are similar to that of the 250 motorcycles. But keep in mind this is a 400cc mill not a 250, you must always respect the machine and the rules of the road.Originally posted by varunrao94 View PostThank you, any thoughts on buying dominor as a first rider bike?
Also invest in some good riding gear.
Happy riding.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Personally, I would suggest to start with a good 150/160 cc bike and then upgrade. Even though Dominar does not have peaky power delivery like Dukes but less power bikes have a larger margin of error and are quite forgiving in case of slippery conditions, or if you punch the throttle too much. If you decide to purchase it, invest in good gear and wear it and increase the throttle slowly till you get used to the powerOriginally posted by varunrao94 View PostThank you, any thoughts on buying dominor as a first rider bike?
