Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
We also have 42 teeth sproket available here from one brand , but the reviews are not good about it as quality is said to be on lower side also the lower end power delivery is not that smooth with it as it should have been.Originally posted by Oleg Odessa View Post

Thanks a ton, now at least I know I am not the only one paying for it.Originally posted by Ijs View PostStandard accessories package charge was 1099 here is delhi when i bought in jan2017, and every company charge for these things. Standard accessories includes rear view mirrors, leg gaurds and saaree gaurd. With some companies this cost is hidden but i have seen that Bajaj always mention this in price breakup.
Try negotiating a deal with them if you already have a good helmet then show the bill or buy a good helmet beforehand and show the bill remove the mandatory helmet from the list.
Even with my hero maestro edge which i bought last year there was this standard accessories package.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I went to SC for the harshness problem. That guy did something. (i couldn't see because customers are not allowed in Working area) when I asked what he did he said he changed the settings of throttle and clutch. I didn't feel any difference in throttle and clutch operation but the bike is alot smoother than yesterday. In just 5 minutes he reduced half of my problem. But now I feel that the pickup is little bit less.
(For people from Pune :- don't go to Sai service Bajaj, phugewadi. They are the worst) (this time I went to shourya Bajaj, akurdi)

For deactivating odo meter they need to take out front wheel speed sensor which is also the abs sensor, so now fay only the worst Dealerships do it .Originally posted by bharatbatham View PostI am planning to get my new Dominar tomorrow, I have listed below check points before taking delivery, if I am missing anything then please please do let me know

Do check the disk rotor with hand feel for any dings and dongs, rust, check chain for rust. Check all electrical.
And if possible chek battery volts. They usually keep the new bike on for 10 minutes after putting the battery to check the volts and charging, and also leaving it on/ start for 10 minutes or so would kick the radiator fan on do check for the same.
Open the tank cap the peek inside to check for rust or damaged surface paint.
Check both the rims. Get all the bolts checked up.
Have small ride to feel the engine if possible compare with another bike.
I guess this should cover all.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Sometime i see foamy substance in oil window after long ride. When engine is real hot. The pictures are of normal level. I will click picture next time of foamy. It's just bubbles on top of oil. Have seen it in the same forum long ago. And some said it to be a normal back then. Is this colour of oil looks normal? They say if the oil is mixing with coolant tge colour changes to coffee. Though my coolamt level decreased only once agter first service. After i refilled it it never happened again. And coolant colour is bright green as well. I feel the refilling cap might have been loose after the first service.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
So i noticed this weird sound coming from my bike only in the 4th gear, it was always there since day 1 but was very faint and wasnt very noticable so i thought id ignore it. Now the sound has amplified. can anyone help identify what it could be? ignore the video quality, just listen to the sound.
to better describe the sound, it sounds like how the honda eterno sounds, or when you drive a car a bit too fast while going in the reverse gear.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Edit 15th Oct 2018 - update - So i visited the showroom sitara motors in margao, Goa. They said its an issue with the 4th gear and some two parts need to be replaced. and looks like my 6 month old bike's engine will need to be opened.
now im worried.
Edit 17th Oct 2018 - Update - I did file a complain with bajaj so that they have an official record of whats happening,
i know this will come in handy if things go wrong in the future with the process.
I visited today for a followup,
The two parts that have been ordered are
1 x Gear 3Rd-4Th Drive| - part no - JY551229
1 x Gear 4Th Driven| - part no - JY551235
more information here - https://www.99rpm.com/bajaj/gears-dominar-400.html
And the expected wait time is freaking 12 days minimum. They won't even know if they have the part or not,
to know if they even have the part in stock, it takes 3 days to find out which is ridiculous.
I will keep editing my original post so that everyone can look at it at once glance instead of searching around for the entire story.
Stay tuned for more updates. I will keep editing this postLast edited by shriomman; 10-17-2018, 03:02 PM.
