    Hi Dominars,

12,000KMs, still have adrenaline rush when I ride this beast. Thanks xBhp for shorting down my bike selection to Dominar.

      ODO 2200 km
Vibration is there as usual and I'm okay with it but I'm feeling the roughness in engine after 4.5k rpm in first 5 gears.
Roghness in First 2 gears is understandable.
      (Oil level is fine)
(Roughness is between 4k rpm to 5.5k rpm. I haven't crossed the 5.5k rpm till now)

        Hey Guys,
Been away a long time again but just got my Domi serviced n ECU updated today so got a lil curious to check if anybody has felt any difference in the performance of their Domi after the 117/118 update?
I personally felt that it has gotten a bit more responsive if nothing else n the power delivery has become a bit smoother (linear, it always was).
Anyone concurs or has any other observations, please do enlighten.

        Ciao..

Went to test ride d400 today. Excellent throttle and nicr bike. Bajaj showroom people are asking for 1600 for Tyre guard and saree guard. Shouldn't this be free of cost ?

Yes. I'm lubricating my chain at every 450-500 km. Roughness is in engine. Even at 5k rpm as soon as I release the throttle I can feel the engine braking which I'm not expecting from the bike coz it's juts 5k rpm and on top of that it has slipper clutch.

I do not own a Dominar but I have an Apache 200 that comes equipped with the slipper clutch. Slipper clutch will reduce the engine braking but not completely cancel it out. Mine is a 200 cc but the engine braking feels like that of a 150-160 cc motorcycle. Engine braking is significant in the first 3 gears even at 4k rpm. At 4th and 5th gears, the engine braking is not signinficant but I can say that it does provide some resistance as compared to a disengaged clutch.

Dominar being a 373 cc motorcycle must definitely have more engine braking than my Apache 200. It will have engine braking but to a lesser extent, say something like a 250 cc motorcycle. Again, all slipper clutches are not designed the same.

Test ride bike does not have this problem, roughness starts at 6.5k rpm in that bike.

I was telling about slipper clutch and engine braking. I think it has little to do with the engine harshness.

Ride more it will get better, engine breaking is more prominent in 3rd gear onward and is a good thing to have, you can try revv matching to reduce it further though it is not needed with slipper clutch.

Standard accessories package charge was 1099 here is delhi when i bought in jan2017, and every company charge for these things. Standard accessories includes rear view mirrors, leg gaurds and saaree gaurd. With some companies this cost is hidden but i have seen that Bajaj always mention this in price breakup.
Try negotiating a deal with them if you already have a good helmet then show the bill or buy a good helmet beforehand and show the bill remove the mandatory helmet from the list.
Even with my hero maestro edge which i bought last year there was this standard accessories package.

Hello from Ukraine Bajaj Riders Club!
Some our Domi owners changed stock sprockets 45 for Duke 390 - 42 size spockets.
                        You can google translate it.

                          Hello,
My bike is bajaj dominar 400. I have a query about engine oil. Before I used Repsol 15 W 50 grade fully synthetic oil, as recommend by the manufacturer. Now I changed to motul fully synthetic oil of same grade. For engine oil topup, can I use the old Repsol oil .

                          Thanks and regards

One should not mix oils, use the same oil for top-up. The problem occurs that different oils have different additives(apart from base oil), now the manufacturers never disclose full description and qty of those. Additives from one oil may react with the additives from the other oil and cause problems. Hence, it's always advised to drain the oil and perform refill/topup with one oil.

Recomended grade is 10w50 not 15w50.
And yes you can use same grade oil for topup , brand is secondary, and most full synthetic oils can be mixed with semi or mineral oils.
We have owners here who have used 20w50 semi for topup , infact Bajaj service centers do use 100ml bottle of 20w50 for topup to be mixed with 10w50.
                                10w50 is the recomended grade.
