I can see the one new improvement over all the bajaj bikes. Which is the side stand chassis bar to which stand is joined through nut. Not even the chassis is bolted and not welded on to the chassis like old bajaj bikes or all other. It's wonderful. Because after few years even that chassis tend to bend and straightening it doesn't do much help. So we can change the stand with that bar itself i believe.

Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I was planning to get a dominar for long time and I gave documents for loan today on 12th sep and asked the dealer for availability of bike. He told me he will try to arrange it and got a call in evening he had the bike. I had no plans of getting the bike but it was all pre planned I guess. I was about 50 kms from showroom and wouldn’t make it on time but the showroom was kept open just for me. Once I reached the showroom after 8.30 pm I realised I was short on cash. I told the guys I would take the bike tomorrow but they readily accepted the available cash and said I can pay the rest of amount tomorrow. I was didn’t even see the bike before the paperwork which was done within 20 mins on me reaching the showroom. Cheers to guys at JS Bajaj Peeragarhi New Delhi specially Mr. Puran from Bajaj finance team. I was home by 9 as I live just 2 kms from dealership. It will be a surprise for my mom as she is travelling and will see the bike by tomorrow evening because no one knows at my home about the bike. More pictures to follow.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi friends,
I am facing a problem with the bike which i bought on 18th of august 2018 ( ABS). Whenever it is heated up , RPM is not dropping down when i close the throttle & clutch fully pressed . Due to which it is very problematic to up shift or shift down the gears. Kindly help guys if somebody is facing the similar issue. RPM comes down only if bike is slowed down.
One more problem or you can say is the failure i faced is complete lockup of the rear break while i was going on around 70 Kmph. Service center guys are saying usual things like it is normal.
Kindly help

1. RPM dropping as in at what RPM and what speed? Is it like you are doing 70 kmph and leave the throttle and the bike keeps the same RPM and same speed for may be next 5 kms??Originally posted by bindyesh View PostHi friends,

2. Thank God you are safe and did not meet any accident when the wheel locked up at 70 kmph. How did you stop then? If the wheel lock up was for a moment then it's probably ok(ABS must have kicked in but the road might have sand or debris that didn't provide sufficient grip).Regards,

Rear wheel locked up completely & bike slowed down with giving jerks similar lugging the engine & then completely to a halt . I was on the yamuna expressway from Delhi to gwalior and was going very smoothly . As far as i remember ,i didn't applied any sudden breaks before this complete lockup/jam happen. I have to remove the rear break pads to free the wheels on the side of the expressway to safely carry it to the my friend's place.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post1. When i press clutch & close the throttle to change the gear , RPM is remaining same . It is not dropping even 500 rpm . It is mostly 4000 to 4500 rpm as i am shifting gears in this range . It comes down only if i applies brake & reduce the speed

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Today, when I tried to start the bike, there was a small sound from below the front seat and the bike switched itself off completely.
Later when I tried to start it again, the lights turn on and off on the handle bar. Unable to start the bike. suspect a fuse/battery connection issue. Anyone else face the same thing?

The RPM thing happened to me once in summer. I thought it to be my fault as I wasn't fully closing the throttle but even when I did that, the RPM did not go down. Later on while negotiating a turn, the bike switched off completely. Not entirely sure what caused this issue but haven't faced this after that particular day.Originally posted by bindyesh View PostHi friends,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Took delivery of my dominar yesterday. A litre of petrol was filled at the dealership and in this process a little amount of petrol was spilled on the patch near the second console. Discovered patchy spots there today, tried to wash it with a wet cloth but the spots don't seem to vanish completely. Any solution to this?
Another thing I wanted to ask is whether the throttle response is a little jerky at low revs? I noticed engine jerking a bit when I've kept a constant throttle at low revs of about 2.5k on the first two gears. Didn't lug the engine. Or should I just wait for the engine to break in completely as the odo just reads 35kms?Inline-4 Stomach.

Tighten the battery terminal screws. It could be loose connection.Originally posted by jani-boy View PostToday, when I tried to start the bike, there was a small sound from below the front seat and the bike switched itself off completely.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello guys. I have experienced under belly scraping of my dominar few times. Which is cat con... Is it okay? Or is there a chance of damaging it? It happens when i am with pillion. In 220 it was so apparent but in 220's case. Double stand used to scrap....

It's all right if cat con material is good! Lol ! If there's cost savings by using cheap quality material... Dude you will be getting SC project sound soon if you keep scrapping that CC [emoji23][emoji23]Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostHello guys. P.S. use dual sport 150/70 tyre at rear it increases ground clearance a lil also get fork risers for front forks it'll significantly increase the fork travel by 2 inch ... Resulting more ground clearance.Last edited by saorabbh; 09-14-2018, 03:18 PM."The Answer, My Friend,

Start off with how good the battery is. Start off with the terminals and check if they are clamped in without any play or loose. Also check the battery's health, a faulty battery and or loose terminals would mean, a "khrr or katt khrr" sound would come from under the seat and the bike won't start. Check your battery terminals and battery.Originally posted by jani-boy View PostToday, when I tried to start the bike, there was a small sound from below the front seat and the bike switched itself off completely.

The lugging you observe is perfectly normal and would set it as time goes by. It's primarily due to the fueling map in the ECU which over time learns to the rider's inputs and corrects itself, for the most part. Secondly to your first question, stain marks left by petrol or water spots can be easily removed by using quality polish and rubbing over the spot mildly.Originally posted by nats View PostTook delivery of my dominar yesterday. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Yes, a loose connection was to blame. Thanks for the help guys!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostStart off with how good the battery is. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello Everyone,
My experience with Khivraj Motors, Kasturba Road, Bengaluru has been disappointing since the first service. My bike has vibration issues near the tank area and the service centre has resorted to putting a "tape" to reduce the vibrations during my first service. Now, 15 months and 4 services later, the tape is still there and there has been no solution to my problem. Please share any leads/ponters of garages or other service centres whom I could possibly approach to resolve my issue.
Many thanks in advance.HH Karizma (2007 - 2012)

Bajaj is apparently working on vibrations issues, and mechanics are getting training. I got to know about this from my last meeting with a service manager. I would update once i get further info.Originally posted by jusjohn View PostHello Everyone,
