Its no like you can't ride . But A new engine break in should happen with mix of city and Highway ride.i.e at varying rpms. Long ride usually remainins at constant rpms

Any way of fixing issued still plagued in 2018 model?
Within a week on getting the bike, I intend to drive from Hyderabadto Bangalore (500+KM). Can I ride a new Dominar bike for such a long distance so soon?
How can I bargain for a better price?
Well the major physical difference in new model is that the black plastic cover part of the front forks is longer then the older model. And the new ones comes with update ECU map so the lag issue has been resolved. The speedo meter has new software since last year which glows the rpm warning light at 5.5k to restrict the riders from over revving till 2000kms.

And for the lond ride of 500kms in the first week, yes you can absolutely do it, but it would be good if you do away with first service and get fresh oil means ride locally just for the sake of logging on the first 500kms and get the service done.
Or else u can still safely ride it, the company has already given rpm warning at 5.5k rpm and at that u would be doing close to 100kmph, just make sure not to over revv the cold engine and always be gradual with throttle input, take rest after an hour of riding to let the things cool down keep an eye on coolant level as on new engine it tends to go down before first service.
Try to stay above 4k and bleow 6k rpm, and never lug the engine by riding at too low rpm in higher gear stay above 3.5k rom which is the power band, it is not a 100cc so don't ride it like that.
Don't stay at one rpm for too long.

For the discount part if you can find a last year peice and also ok with it then you can strike a deal.

          Hello folks,

Whenever I try to accelerate, the acceleration isn't quick but it takes some twisting of the throttle and then starts accelerating.
ODO is 15K Kms by the way Have anyone faced similar issues?
          What can be the problem?
Haven't yet approached local Service Centre coz of the complaints received against them of mistreating the Bikes in local Whatsapp group.

Also, if I service my bike from outside, would it void warranty? And if it voids, what may be the impact?
It doesn't matter what you ride. What matters is, You Ride.

check the free play lock nut is tight enough. it is under rubber cover on accelerater cable beneath the throttle grip

              Hey Guys,

Coming back to the forum after ages..
As always, have a question to ask..
My Domi's headlight has developed an issue. Noticed it a few days back that one LED in the top right isn't glowing any longer. Have never installed any electrical accessories in fact my whole bike is still completely stock. So is there a possibility that it could be replaced under warranty? AFAIR, the warranty is 2 years n I'm at 1.5 years.

              Please let me know.

Tyre and Battery warranty is given by respective suppliers - MRF and Amaron/Tata/Exide or whatever it is.
Headlight issue can be highlighted to the SVC and if things are spoken nicely, they may rectify the issue and/or help regarding it.

                      Hi guys!

1st service done dana done done! 😁 Bike is super smooth. And I'm penning my review. Hopefully by weekend I'll have it posted.

Minor niggle: (maybe in my head only).

                      1. I can't see engine oil in window. I'm doing the warm check method. The day after service I could see it but since then have not been able to see. I went to SVC and asked them to check. They said it is fine.
Should I insist for top up? Please let me know.

                      2. Coolant level is just above min mark in morning. After warming engine it comes up to half way mark. There are absolutely no leaks anywhere.
Am I being just paranoid or should I ask for a top up?

Should I post pictures? Please let me know. Thanks!

                        Hey Bud,

Found this last night on various websites..

The five-year warranty on the Bajaj Dominar 400 includes the TWO-YEAR STANDARD WARRANTY, while an additional three-year warranty is applicable for the engine.

So my memory did serve me right the 1st time itself 😎

I'm gonna buy Dominar next week and I'm hoping to get the extended warranty and hopefully more.(https://www.cartoq.com/hat-trick-off...nger-extended/)

The Onroad price stated online and the price I got from showrooms(Hyderabad) are different and I'm not sure why!

However the price quoted in Bangalore is on par with price mentioned online.

Onroad price mentioned on any website won't be close to what the actual onroad price would be.
If you are checking on the Bajaj website then it's the ex-showroom price that they have mentioned. RTO tax, accessories, insurance amount gets added up and then it makes the onroad price.
In Pune it is 1.88L now.

I am new to this place but have been following xbhp for quite some time.Got the delivery of my Dominar today.
Purchased from Khivraj in kasturba rd.
I used to own a pulsar 150 2nd generation when the bike was newly launched. Had it for about 2 years. Later on was mostly activas and a new access now. The itch for a bike was always there and the launch of the dominar fuelled it. It's a beast. Honestly my experience with bikes is less. My brother rides a classic 350 sometimes I too joy ride it for some very short distances. My friend has a unicorn, that's the smoothest bike I have ever ridden.
So coming back to my bike, I rode it about 10 kms today admist heavy traffic, it certainly feels heavy.
There's one concern thou, the engine sounds and feels harsh, and I kept downshifting most of the times and was stalling it quite often. I am not used to such bigger bikes. May be my way of riding a higher capacity bike should change. And also the sound is different when I engage the clutch and different when it's released.
Is this common with new bike.. the harshness.. sound.. or is it just me !? Would things better upon further riding or may be after 1st service?
Kindly suggest the gears to be maintained in the speeds till I get a hold of this big bike.
Pardon me for my inexperience. Need your kind inputs.
                              Cheers

Traded my classic 350 for Dominar. Never felt better😌. I have a question guys. Is revving in the city under 5500 rpm is okay? My first service is done. Almost one k kms.
