At petrol pump they sell at mrp.
One pack is good enough to last a season.
How much are you applying bhai? For me, one litre pack lasted 25,000+ Kms and 3 years.

Same here 500 ml bought year ago and still it has around 150ml left , i am just putting a prospective period , i normally lube at 350 to 400kms . I use the kupi to apply.
Dominar chain gets dry sooner then others on the avenger 220 it use to last 600kms plus.
And i am bit more generous on the o rings, i apply one round on each side orings and one quick round on the rollers after warming up the chain.

Manufacturers themselves recommend 90 gear oil, including ktm, bajaj, rolon etc.. A 140 gear oil is slightly thicker and should be ok too.
If you are constantly riding in the wet, then maybe something like the nulon grease spray works wonders.. costs much less than other brand chain spray cans.

The fancy spray cans are a recent trend here in India, and manufacturer's have also caught on to make an extra buck up-selling/using these products. Am not saying they are bad.. they do a decent job and are convenient to carry around too, but cost a bomb (at-least to me). I keep a can for touring since it is more convenient to carry n use when out of town.

And the key to a long lasting chain/sprocket is to REGULARLY lube the chain every 500-1000km and not just using a particular brand once in a blue moon.
Am still on stock chain on my d200 at 33k km.. with at-least another 6-10k life left in it.

          One question gurus.

Bought dominar last month. Had 220.
My question is, is it okay to use bike as daily commuter and real short rides. Like my work place is jusy 1 km from home. So is it okay? I travel back and forth quite a few times a day. And do a shorr rides in evening. Around 30 kms a day... Does this short rides harm engine or any other elctronics including FI?

Here are the pictures, in the mud guard pic, you can see the left side is much lower to the right side with respect to the wheel. The chain adjuster from both sides are also slightly off imo. Click image for larger version

Chain adjuster indicator are for reference only. Have you checked rear wheel alignment? If yes how did you check, talking about method?

I have not. I am totally new to this and would love for you to suggest me a way to check that. I did google it, mostly the string and ruler method is the 'diy' method that I found.

Also the real issue is the chain keeps getting loosened often. So thought maybe the alignment issue. The bike just 2 weeks old and was serviced last Monday where the svc guy did tighten it. He was astonished at how loose it was. [emoji28]

String method is tedious and high possibility of human error. Below is link to video, it might be helpful. Personally, I use the first method.

Thank you for the link, will surely check the measure tomorrow. Any idea as to why the chain may be getting loose other than alignment issue ?

Hi guys,. Please suggest me a best windshield for dominar. Currently I am using as 200 visor and i think it doesn't serve the purpose. I am lookinh for an alternative windshield that doesn't spoil asenthetic of the bike and also serve the purpose. Experienced riders who were using any one of the windshield please suggest one for me. The chain getting loose often(every two weeks) happened in my 2012 200NS too. Initially I got pissed off and got irritated on the bike due to this single reason. According to me, it's primarily due the mechanics incompetence in adjusting the slackness and tightening the bolts properly. Just make sure while adjusting the chain, the mechanic is rotating the wheels and checking the chain slackness each time he rotates the wheels and then he tightens the bolt. I find the chain getting loose often, whenever an incompetent mechanic works on tightening it.

I am using the one from Sahyadri, expensive but good. Please dont buy from Lluvia, it vibrates a lot, and they take so long to ship them. more than 10 days.
