Bike Age: 1.5 Yrs
ODO: 26000+ Kms
Issues:
1) 5th or 6th Gear 90Km/hr + Bikes suddenly stop responding to throttle as if I have no fuel left in the tank.
2) Radiator reservoir requires to top up after every 400-500 Kms. Topup qty 350ml approx.
Resolution
1) Bajaj Mechanics unable to identify the issues since 3 Days, changes all Spark plugs, Air Filter, FI Sensor, Throttle Body cleaned, Fuel filter, fuel pump, ECU Update, still same issues. God knows what else they going to change the next.
2) No solution found yet, instead have started filling up on my own :-(
Guys the Final Solution Bajaj did was Replace the ECU with the Fresh new one, Now the Bike is running normally. All issues are solved.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Brothers...
So my Domi has clocked around 12k and since few thousand kms I have been experiencing steering related issue.
When at slow speeds (like 10~15km/hr), I try weaving in traffic, I find front end to be quite heavy when turned to either sides. And, I find it very difficult to push/pull handle to neutral position. Not blaming the handle-bar as its quite smooth while steering, but there is something else which is wrong at the front end.
initially I tried getting the handlebar steering nut loosened , but I still felt weight at certain angles during turning. Increased front tyre pressure to 32,from recommended 29, that helped momentarily but after a day or 2 its back to same problem.
This only happens at slow speeds and while weaving through the traffic , though at high speeds , handling feels good enough. Any ideas what could be the issue ?
Cheers,
Rohit

Probably your cone-set is gone. Cone sets in dominars are a pain and a lot of owners have got it replaced when problems arise.
Service center would be able to give the right diagnosis but i feel according to your description that the cone set is gone for a toss. Replace it if thats the case.

Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello guys. Feel like my dominar loosing coolant. After first service have ridden it for some 300 kms. And it was on max after service. Now it's somewhere mid-level. I'm worried what could be the reason? No leakage to be seen. All seems fine.
Yes i checked it at ground level and bike was cold. Checked it in morning...Last edited by faysal_khan; 07-31-2018, 09:55 AM.

Check the radiator cap and replace it if necessary.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostHello guys. Feel like my dominar loosing coolant. After first service have ridden it for some 300 kms. Some of it might be there in the radiator. If it drops further down, then it is to be watched for where it goes.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostI checked both of the cap. When it was filled/topped up by SVC, they would have just poured it and filled it till how it looks good.Regards,

Is it okay to ride it with this level? It’s fine till minimum. Yeah?Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostSome of it might be there in the radiator. If it drops further down, then it is to be watched for where it goes.

I've had Duke 200 in the past so from my recall memory of the manual, the coolant level should be between Max and Min which is what I see here. Don't worry, the engine doesn't die so soon with low coolant. It heats up a couple of degrees more. Check if the radiator fan kicks in.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostIs it okay to ride it with this level? It’s fine till minimum. Yeah?
My friend did not know that R15 needs coolant in his 5 years of ownership of the bike. He used to ride it till high temp signal comes, stop the bike and then start it again. [emoji23]
PS - Not a good thing to do and he has been educated about it now.Regards,

Having same problem, the coolant drops from max to min in about 800 odd km. Checked the engine oil and it looks good (no mixing), considering checking the radiator cap. Any idea what I should look for in the cap to find the defect if any?Originally posted by Jackharrisw View PostCheck the radiator cap and replace it if necessary.
Thanks!
