Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello folks,
Does anybody know the timeline for coolant replacement for Dominar? It’s nowhere mentioned on the user manual. Also could you recommend brand which is Propylene glycol based coolant?
PS- Sorry if it’s a repeated question, missed it [emoji848][emoji13]Last edited by sumith.jagadisan; 08-07-2018, 04:47 AM.

Stock coolant can easily last for 2 year it there is no issues, it is safe to change at 2 years or 20 to 30k kms whichever is early.Originally posted by sumith.jagadisan View PostHello folks,

And bajaj koolex used by bajaj is not very expensive so you can change early.
Normal glycol base coolant would just fine, never mix different color coolant.
Other brand you can try are castrol redicool, motul motocool expert, motul inguel expert or if you want something fancy then try engine ice it is phosphate free and bit on the expensive side, but it has very good reviews.
Make sure the coolant you use is antifreez, redicool premixed 50:50 or 1:1 or else use distilled water to make 50:50 ratio.Last edited by Ijs; 08-07-2018, 07:35 AM.

HI Kevin, I know I am quite late to this thread and congratulations on your ride. After almost 18 months of ownership, do you recommend this bike over D390 or any other similar engined bike in out western suburbs & Mumbai traffic. And weekend ride on the highways.Originally posted by Kevin Braganza View PostTook delivery of my dominar twilight plum today from executive bajaj, malad,.Not a very pleasant experience, but hey, ride the bike and you forget the bitterness.Rode 48 kms. today and here is my initial ride impression.
Enfield's.Forget about track racing and cornering, how many of us do it anyway in everyday life?
Bye for now,
Cheers

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread- Loss in power in 1st Gear
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum. Just wanted to share one issue with the dominar that i own. When i open full throttle in first gear, the bike accelerates for a while but after some seconds, the bike feels like being in neutral. Just like when you are in a gear and stuck in a false gear then the bike RPM increases with no torque at all.
Things to note here is : 1) I replaced new air filter 2) The clutch plate has not worn out 3) Chain sprocket has been lubricated.
Please let me know if any one else is feeling the same as i do .
Regards,

Could be the throttle lag issue, what does the service center says, try getting the ecu reflashed if it is the throttle lag then , ecu flashing should help.Originally posted by kniraj99 View PostHello everyone,

Coz pass light is high beam, when you press pass switch with low or main beam on then the pass triggers the high beam.Originally posted by Rawmonger View PostWhy pass light doesn't work when the headlight is on high beam? Am I missing out on technicals?[emoji28]

Cool thanks. I was wondering the pass light blinking on a high beam would help me on a highway to signal!Originally posted by Ijs View PostCoz pass light is high beam, when you press pass switch with low or main beam on then the pass triggers the high beam.

Exception is TVS Apache RTR 200 4V even in its Race Edition 2.0 with ART slipper and assist clutch version.Originally posted by Rawmonger View PostCool thanks. I was wondering the pass light blinking on a high beam would help me on a highway to signal!
It works both ways in that specific bike. When on low beam, it switches to high beam when using pass light and vice versa.
Not just Dominar, every other bike with pass switch behaves like this.Regards,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Sorry to go a bit off topic but all the other threads seem a bit dated on this.
Was planning to buy a Bluetooth intercom and have narrowed down the following :
1. Vnetphone V6
2. BT-S2
(Aren't better options avaliable?)
3. Vimoto V8 /V6
(is it any better for the extra money?)
Was keen on the Vnetphone V6 as it's available for some ₹2400 and seems good value for money.
Don't mind spending a bit more if the audio and build quality is considereably better.
My main usage would be to listen to Music/Podcasts and take calls. Also should be able to pair maybe 3-4 devices on rides.
I know you can't expected much in terms of audio quality from these devices but what's the best of the lot? Any other suggestions?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I intend to buy the ASB one around 15th Aug.However I have few questions I would like answered:
What has improved between the 2017 and 2018 models? What issues were identified initially and have been fixed?
Any way of fixing issued still plagued in 2018 model?
Within a week on getting the bike, I intend to drive from Hyderabadto Bangalore (500+KM). Can I ride a new Dominar bike for such a long distance so soon?
How can I bargain for a better price?

To pin down the 2017 2018 differences is hard. But the lag issues were fixed with the ecu update! Coolant issues there a few 2018 models where it's still seen.Originally posted by ksmtkmr View PostI intend to buy the ASB one around 15th Aug.However I have few questions I would like answered:

No there is no way you should riding a new bike for long distances.
And for prices they don't budge. Try getting a deal for the insurance price quoted! They will certainly reduce some bucks there.
