Bro, it's fine to rev it upto 5500 but only for short bursts as of now..let the run in period of 2k kms get over & then you can rev it to 5-6k RPM even regularly..
In fact, the short bursts of higher revs during run in will help you with opening the mechanical bits to make it a more freely revving engine in the longer run..
    Hope it helps

There's one concern thou, the engine sounds and feels harsh, and I kept downshifting most of the times and was stalling it quite often. I am not used to such bigger bikes. May be my way of riding a higher capacity bike should change. And also the sound is different when I engage the clutch and different when it's released.
Is this common with new bike.. the harshness.. sound.. or is it just me !? Would things better upon further riding or may be after 1st service?
Kindly suggest the gears to be maintained in the speeds till I get a hold of this big bike.
Hi. Yes the bike is heavy. You will get used to it in a few days.
The clutch sound is different due to the presence of slipper clutch. It's normal.
The bike is running mineral oil from the factory so it will be harsh. Change the engine oil to synthetic (by default from Bajaj) at 500kms. The harshness will subside.
It would be good not to lug the engine and stay in the required rpms for the specific gears. It is mentioned in the manual. However I change gears at around 3500 to 4000rpm which is pretty much sufficient. Do not change gears at low rpms quickly. This will put additional strain on the engine.
      Hope this answers your queries.

1st service done dana done done! 😁 Bike is super smooth. And I'm penning my review. Hopefully by weekend I'll have it posted.

Minor niggle: (maybe in my head only).

              1. I can't see engine oil in window. I'm doing the warm check method. The day after service I could see it but since then have not been able to see. I went to SVC and asked them to check. They said it is fine.
Should I insist for top up? Please let me know.

              2. Coolant level is just above min mark in morning. After warming engine it comes up to half way mark. There are absolutely no leaks anywhere.
Am I being just paranoid or should I ask for a top up?

Should I post pictures? Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi guys! Please suggest your views to my post above.

Additionally, yesterday was the first time I rode my bike without helmet to the nearby grocery store. For the first time I'm hearing a mild continuous screeching noise in front wheel. I couldn't hear it all these days as I always wear my helmet. Can you inform what could be the likely problem?
              Thanks in advance!

It could be due to rains. Usually sand gets lodged between disc pads and rotors. Nothing to worry.

Thank you Prajnyan! This puts my mind at ease!

Any thoughts on the essential fluids levels, please?

How are you seeing the oil level, on side stand? Bad idea. After warming up the engine and you turn off. Wait for few mins and then keep the bike straight for a min or have someone sit and hold the bike straight for you to see the oil and coolant levels.

Remember both oil and coolants should never be more than high or less than low. I prefer it be about say all the way close to high but a little less than that always. If that is not so, immediately get these topped up to little less than the high mark.

And I always follow this regime to check the oil and coolant levels once a week or whenever on long trips to check before I start the vehicle in morning

I do check the bike fluid level while holding it straight. However it is only me doing the holding, bending and checking [emoji16]
So I do account for the "margin of error". But when tilting the bike from side stand to straight, the oil level should come visible in the window, correct? Unfortunately, I'm not finding the oil begin to level out in the window. This is after running the engine for 5-7 minutes.
But I'll check with someone holding the bike steady, as you suggested. Thanks Prajnyan!

My bike has run around 1200kms .Today when riding, the bike stalls while decelerating.Repeated attempts at starting fails. The bike cranks but does not start. The speedo console and the secondary console were all working, the bike does the self check but when i try to crank it just does not start. So i had to push it back home. Half tank of fuel, coolant level normal , engine oil level normal.

I did not have any reasons to suspect the battery was at fault coz all the instruments were working and even the headlights were working fine, still just to make sure the battery connection was not loose i checked it, the connections were perfectly tight. Even then for my peace of mind i loosened them and re-tightened....the first crank after this the bike did not start but with the second crank the bike starts. I turned off and tried starting multiple times and the problem is solved. Can anyone suggest what the underlying cause could be?. I really dont believe it could be a loose battery connection coz it was properly tight when i checked first time.

                        Thanks in advance.

Electric stuff is bizzare at times.
From my extremely limited understanding and deduction, there could be 2 reasons(independent or combo of both):
                          1. The battery was relieved of load when you disconnected and it rejuvenated itself when you connected it back again. Closest analogy is the manual which mentions that don't crank the engine for too long and give ample time between two cranks.
                          2. It must have been a small connection issue which might have caused the leads to not stay in fully connected phase with the battery terminals. When you loosened it and tightened it again, it would have regained that necessary grip.

I'd still suggest you to get the battery checked. Electrical stuffs work off a lower voltage but the bike may not crank. Happened with me when my P220's battery was almost dead but it will let the console and horn and indicator to work but not the crank.

Hello guys. Noticed water coming out of exhaust system just below the rear disc brake oil reservoir. It was black and there is a hole there, might be specifically for. This purpose. Must be common in all Dominars. Right? Click image for larger version

I agree with the 2nd point, could have been that. Maybe some deposit at the connection point preventing full contact. I just hope its a case like that and not something bigger. I will get the battery checked with the service centre.
