I used to own a pulsar 150 2nd generation when the bike was newly launched. Had it for about 2 years. Later on was mostly activas and a new access now. The itch for a bike was always there and the launch of the dominar fuelled it. It's a beast. Honestly my experience with bikes is less. My brother rides a classic 350 sometimes I too joy ride it for some very short distances. My friend has a unicorn, that's the smoothest bike I have ever ridden.
So coming back to my bike, I rode it about 10 kms today admist heavy traffic, it certainly feels heavy.
There's one concern thou, the engine sounds and feels harsh, and I kept downshifting most of the times and was stalling it quite often. I am not used to such bigger bikes. May be my way of riding a higher capacity bike should change. And also the sound is different when I engage the clutch and different when it's released.
Is this common with new bike.. the harshness.. sound.. or is it just me !? Would things better upon further riding or may be after 1st service?
Kindly suggest the gears to be maintained in the speeds till I get a hold of this big bike.
Pardon me for my inexperience. Need your kind inputs.
    Cheers

Coming from Discover 150S, I had the same issue with my Dominar (got a month ago). Gears in dominar are a bit tall, and engine prefers to be in 3000-4000RPM band. I started upshifting at 4000RPM and it never stalled since. For first gear, you need to twist throttle a little bit more to keep it from stalling (I had to deal with this because Discover gears are fairly short comparatively).

When you engage the clutch, you are also turning the input shaft in transmission alongwith the output shaft of engine (even when in neutral), whereas when clutch is did-engaged, input shaft in transmission does not turn. This is the reason of difference in sound, and it is pretty normal.

    Enjoy your new bike

        Dominar:
The ride feeling is too good. No vibration in the 2018 model. The bike is heavy which provides good stability on the highways. Ofcourse dual channel ABS. The bike gives you enough confidence while cornering. This is what I have felt atleast till now as I am new to this bike.

None of these you can get in RE Classic 350. I was kind of restricted from fun. As soon as you reach 80kmph the bike vibrates badly as though the bike is breaking apart. I had owned RE for almost two years and never had fun riding on the highways.

Anyways, I'll try shooting them a mail and confirm the warranty part. I remember sending them a mail regarding the frequent false neutrals 2 days ago, but I haven't even received a response nor an automatic response saying a ticket has been raised for this mail.

I guess the only option is to visit the SVC, but they hardly know anything. Anyways shall check on all fronts and keep you posted. Really disappointed by this, earlier it was the pathetic TVS Eurogrip tyres on my NS, now this

for all motorcycles without a centre stand the service station guys usually have a paddock to lift the wheel however if you get it done outside.
the usual crude way is to put on side stand and tilt it to one side then the removes the axle and pulls the tyre out. meanwhile they usually put old tyres under the rear swingarm to balance the bike and redo it again in reverse order to fit tyre back.

The car jack would do just fine for the job most tyre shops have it, or the good ones keep the paddock stand or lift rear by tilting the bike and place something under it like a ghodi (a metal stool) used by garages.

hi guys.. I'm having a problem with my bike. it cranks but struggles to switch on when hot without any throttle input. it either takes some time for the engine to stabilize to the idle rpm or sometimes it just doesn't switch on. it happens only when the engine is hot. otherwise it's perfect. by the way, the svc guys checked by changing air filter, the battery voltage, cleaning the fuel pipes and ecu update.. but nothing seems to work. what may be causing this issue?!

Yes it does happens with me too when the engine is very hot, that time it needs bit of throttle input then it starts and everything gets normal. Main thing to note here is that idle rpm should be stable. It does needs throttle input on a very hot engine on a hot day.

Folks, looks like I am in some (hopefully not-so-)deep trouble.

I took delivery of Dominar 400 ABS from Kanchan Auto (Kanjurmarg) on July 21, 2018 with full payment done by NEFT on July 15, 2018. Today I received owner's manual, and RTO tax receipt (registration is already finished). Owner's manual says I should have gotten SMS from Bajaj mentioning customer ID which needs to be mentioned for all services, AND, all service records must be uploaded by service center; otherwise warranty will not be entertained.

Problem is, I never got any such SMS; and I already have got first service from Bharti Bajaj @ Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Even service center chaps too did not ask for customer ID. Receipt of said service mentions my name and registration number both; and details are filled by hand (I have seen some service centers giving printed receipt, while others giving receipts with details filled in ink; and none of that created any issue in Discover warranty claim). Dealer is saying that if svc is not giving printed receipts, they are not authorized to service D400 at-least.

Any idea how to recover from here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

                              Hi brothers!!
Can anyone let me know about good Tyres for Dominar, as I am into long distance bike rides and also the sprockets, as both are worn out.
Bike has done 24k kms in 7 months..
So for which brand i should go for? pirelli, Michelin or stick to stock MRF?
Also for Sprockets current ratio is 15F and 45R, has anyone changed the ratio yet?
