I suppose you are asking why use Ep90, its because it is much cheaper to use than the Motul's lube in the long run and it works equally good

I have done 650kms on single lube with gear oil, areosole based starts to dry out from 250kms on dominar , with motul i have faced dirt and it also dry out very soon.
300 to 500kms is the safe zone to lube a chain and i never shy to do it.
Gear oil is way more effective and way more economical than any lube.
Ep90 is the universal recomended grade accross various brands. I personally using ep140 in summer and ep90 for winter as recomended by experienced freind.
Ep140 has similar viscosity but higher kinenametic viscosity and sustain more heat.

Hi Guys. I have been facing a peculiar issue on my dominar..its from the first batch and has run around 14k km. After the engine is warm, it struggles to switch on. After it switches on there seems to be no problem. But, it struggles to switch on even if i give acceleration.
it's really embarrassing at every signal when the bike doesn't switch on.
I went to multiple service centres multiple times. Everytime They tell a different reason for the problem and tell me it's fixed. The reasons they've given are
          1.ecu update
          2. Problem with side stand sensor
          3. Air filter
          4. Radiator core cleaning or something like that.

Do you guys think that maybe i should escalate the problem to bajaj customer care.? Or if not, what would be the solution to this problem..

              I had the same problem.
Bt fortunately the issue vanished once i filled the petrol tank to the brim.
Maybe it was due to fuel pump problem in my case...

The max load on the stock mrf tyres is specified as 300kgs rear and 212kgs front. So if I include the weight of the bike and assuming the weight is 50-50 distributed. That leave's me with 121kgs of load (rider +pillion+baggage etc) that I can take on the front, right?..isn't that unsafe, if say the rider plus pillion weighs more than 120kgs?..( I understand ,more weight comes at the rear with pillion but during braking you load the front). Would be helpful if someone can clarify the fact.

You missed out the point that whatever weight should be divided across 2 wheels depending on weight distribution and not separately for each wheel.

Let's say Dominar with full tank would be around 194kg, assuming with 50-50 weight distribution of the bike, rear is loaded with 97kg and front is loaded 97kg. You are left with 203kg on rear and 115kg on front.

Say rider+pillion both weigh 200 kg put together, at 70-30 (140kg-60kg) distribution as rider+pillion weight is more rear biased, now you are left with 63kg on the rear and 55kg on the front.
You can still have baggage that is 20-40kg and still left out 10-20% buffer for safety measure.

By switching on I presume that the bike is struggling to fire up while cranking. If that's the case, I'd recommend you to check your spark plugs, inline fuel filter and throttle body. A spark plug cap that is loose and a spark plug is weak would mean starting trouble. If you haven't replaced your inline fuel filter, now is the right to inspect and replace. Thirdly, over time the throttle body gets accumulated with carbon deposits due to poor fuel quality, which would mean restricted air flow which would cause the engine to not fire up due to suboptimal AFR. Clean your throttle body.

Radiator core doesn't have to do anything with the engine start up which is bollocks. Get the above checked, inspected, cleaned and replaced if necessary. Do keep your observations posted.

                    Cheers!

Just asking how much extra KM can one extract out with this ritual going by your experience? Doing it at every 350kms and using variety of gear oil/lubes

A chain which has been maintained in the worst condition without any lube will last 13-15K.
Looking after just with aerosol based Motul, 3M lubes at every 500-800kms can extend it by another 3-5K say upto 20K.

So following your way my guesstimate ideally it should add another 5-8K and have around 25-28K+ of life? All this would be pointless if it's extending the life by just 2-3K kms, it would be cheaper at ₹4K to replace with a new chain & sprocket than spend upto ₹1K for lube/oil just for extra few kms.

                        Gear oil - 1 litre can - Rs. 255
Motul chain cleaner - Rs. 490(400 mL)
                        Amazon prices!!
Lets suppose they both are used for 20K after which the chain needs replacement.

How many times can we use the spray?
                        Lets say with good quantity:
                        Gear oil - 15 times
                        Motul Spray - 10 times

Note : Lubing done after every 500 kms

                        Number of times lubing required = 20000/500 = 40

                        Gear oil - 40/15 = ~2.5 times = 2.5 bottles * Rs.255 = Rs 765 or rounding off to Rs 800

                        Motul - 40/10 = ~4 times = 4 cans * Rs. 490 = Rs 1960

Even in this rough calculation you'll probably save more than Rs 1100 which is probably one paid service cost or covers the cost of brake pads.

Considering real life scenario, the above calculation might tip towards gear oil and save even more.

With gear oil, you get brakes pads free free free!!! [emoji16][emoji16]

Again, the choice is of the owner. Over the time, gear oil brings the overall cost of ownership down.

                          Hello guys.
Its been a year that i have purchased a Dominar. I have two issues with my Bike. First sometimes my Bike does not start on neutral or in gear. I make sure the side stand is up. I can just hear a Krr. Krr. kinda sound under the rear seat. While i self start the bike , it just lets go off the start. and refuses to self start . i have to again turn on the kill switch and again start the bike again after switching off the kill switch. The bike starts after many self starts like 20 to 30 times. This issue creeped after three months of me buying the bike. The ASC guys have no idea what the problem is.
Secondly while riding my bike in small potholes very minute potholes on the roads my chain rattles . it gives an annoying sound like the chain is about to come of. I have done 8.5K kms on my bike.
Your inputs are highly welcome. Thanks

If you press the starter button and it produces the Khrrrr Khrrrr noise - get the battery checked and replaced under warranty.
Ask them to check the voltage of the battery.
Or it could be a wiring issue that is not charging the battery enough.

It is not about money or extra miles, it is all about smooth operation. A well lubed chain provide better overall riding experience and prevent chain damage under stress.
Gear oil is ancient thing after the grease but it works better than most lubes, if u still need spry type and less messy ones then use dry type chain lube.
As per personal experience gear oil 1 bottle 180 rs 1 ltrs last around 1.5 year to 2 years on my previous rides. With doninar i have used 500ml pack of ep90 over 7 months (that is 100rs pack).
I usually avoid regular cleaning by wiping the chain properly before every lube cycle and i never over lube it.
It is not about using expensive stuff people use motul blindly only for brand name with reading the lable and have suffered rust with c2 in rain , where on the pack of c2 it is written not to be used in monsoon (something like it), c3 is there for monsoon.
I have used local made aerosol lube successfully with any issues one sparg last over 250kms.
But gear oil provide smoother and noise free chain as per my experience.
