    • Power Lag

      Hello everyone,
I have been facing this power lag issue with my 2017 Dominar,
It happens when I try to accelerate hard from low or medium rpm, it feels as if the fuel is cut off for a second or two and then acceleration is resumed.
Sometimes it's like stuttering(one stutter dragged out) when you are out of fuel.
This has given me mini heart attacks a lot of times.
Is this is a common issue with bike as this has been happening since the bike was new.
Is anyone else facing this issue?
      Any suggestions are welcome.
      Thank you

        REAR BRAKE ISSUE

Rear brake has no bite. I've to use front brake every time. Even at the speed of 40 I've to use front brake
I went to SC twice in last 3 weeks for this issue. 1st time he just removed the pads, rubbed it on sand paper and that's it. 2nd time he took a ride and said this much bite is normal.

My friend has dominar and the bite in his rear brake is way stronger than mine bike.
(Because of his bike I realised that my brake is shitty) (and we both have ABS model)

        ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

Contact SC and get the ECU updated and ride it for few days. Even then if problem priests then get the fuel pump and injector cleaned along with air filter.
I feel the ECU update would help.

ECU update should help. ECU update has resolved this issue for many off us. Latest verified version for ABS models here in Delhi is 117.

This is a question I too wanna ask.. Though the performance difference for Dominar is not been detailed by Powertronic, but they mentioned Power +1 and 9 for RPM limiter.. If I'm right..

Well, for me too it isn't that stronger but is good enough considering it's disc + ABS.. Don't wish for a strong one, don't want ABS to kick in always to keep the wheel rolling..

You might be right. My cousin has RR310 and i have ridden it, it has a sharp rear bite. My cousin always complains about rear wheel ABS kicks in all the time.

                  Hello All,

I am a proud owner of Matt Black 2018 Baja Dominar 400. The golden alloys are slowly growing on me and even people liking it on the streets (more attention).. but my surprise people tend to ask this a lot " which bike is this, which company" .. this could be because of no Bajaj branding anywhere on the bike, I have done my first free service, bike looks much smoother now...even on high gear I don't feel the initial rattling that I used to get...after the service its much better now... everything is nice...my only concern is .. I see a few oil drops whenever I enter my parking place... I have to go over a hump (speed breaker) while entering the place...after I park my bike and came back I could see a few drops of oil ... I did mention this to the service engineer ..he said the oil is from the tank any excess petrol near the tank cap spills out from the bottom...but I am not convinced as this should not happen continuously... I will be visiting the service center again to check if they have a better answer... guys please let me know if anyone shares a similar experience. I haven't done any modification so far, might look for a crash guard... I have seen few from some makers (Sahyadri motors) but they are out of stock ... the bike comes with all the required skills.... one need to find a way to make any changes... the stock bike has everything you need.

I am following this thread for a long time now as I was planning to buy a good touring bike like updated Dom 400.
And my wait comes to an end. Today I purchased 2016 Ninja 650R Non ABS version which was ridden only 4400 kms. Bought it from a friend for 3.6L.

I'll be following this thread for future updates on domi and will share my own thoughts on the same.
Till then all the good luck to all of you who helped me to collect critical information and improve my knowledge about the bikes in general.
                    Thank you all once again.

                    Ride hard, ride safe!

                      Hey guys.

Is anyone having problems with stock handlebar grips? The problem is it leaves black stains on hands even after 10 kms rides. It's loosing colour to hands. Never heard of these problems in any bike other than a friend's unicorn 150.

Any solution to it? I don't want to add any other additional grips. Strictly against those mods. Thank you.

Same problem here. It leaves Black stains and a very unpleasant aggressive rubber smell on the palm. I didn't change the stock grip but I'm using grip cover. Which I'm not recommending at all. It increases the thickness which makes it uncomfortable to hold the handlebar in long ride.
There's only one way, change the grip. I'm planning on doing it. But I'm not. Finding the right grip.

I got a foam based grip on my P220 and all other bikes that I've had till date.
It reduces the pressure on the palm by keeping it in less clinched posture.
And I always use gloves, so never had a problem that way.
                                Regards,
